Did anyone notice before L dies he washes Light's feet, or at least dries them? Isn't that what Jesus did before he died. Was he being portrayed as Jesus or am i just crazy... Or is it just a mixture of both? (Grin)

No, that was L's way of apologizing.
Saying that he respects Light, not by words but by something more meaningful, he was saying that Light was his friend, and he was sorry for accusing him of being Kira.
And he kills him. D:

I think Death Note has alot of religious themes in it like the bells and the feet washing . I agree what L did was Jesus like but I also agree withUnipyre and think he did it in a show of friendship but I think deep down L always knew that Light was Kira I mean if L had lived atleast a tinse bit longer he would've proven how right he really was.

Great light just became judis. I admit i agree its a good and valid point l could be jesus in a sense. I just didnt know that jesus liked to kidnap and bind girls for monthes in a bunker somewhere in japan. lol

I didn't catch that before but that is a really interesting point and I think you're probably right. There are a lot of biblical allusions in things like this.
