Niat is simply if translated is a wish.
But then it is a pray before you do something. Like when you start praying, you have to start with "niat".
I think, the simple wudu' niat is, Nawaitu wudu'an lilla hita'ala.
Not sure about the spelling. And the meaning is... Err... Dang, hard to translate it from my language to English. XP
Something like, "I take this wudu' for Allah Ta'ala." .___."
I hope someone else can give me and others the right information.
Oh, and I believe you will have to cover your aurat when taking your wudu'. But I'm not sure about this. ^ ^ll
Sometimes I hate my knowledge. I need to read more. D:

I'm not sure if you have to have an intention, but if u want your shower to count as wudu, in your shower, you have to rinse your mouth and nose and i think somewhere else too, (but I forgot) because those places would usually have be wet from wudu but if you just take a shower without those places becoming wet then I am pretty sure it doesn't count as wudu because getting those places wet in wudu is mandatory.

Wuduu is:
Having the intentions to make wuduu, to yourself. washing the hands rinsing the mouth rinsing the nose (take some water and light inhale it then quickly exhale) washing the face washing the arm up to the elbows putting water on the hair and smoothing it back washing the ears in and out washing the feet
And this can be done easily in the shower.

D:um whats aurat? aurat is part of our body that we need to cover with long clothes.. a person who not our muhrin (don't have blood relationship with us) can't see our aurat.. for female.. all of our body except face and palm.

As far as I understand, a regular shower does not count as wudu. You do need to have the intention, like people said, to make wudu and you need to perform the actions as you would normally for wudu. Wash your hands, mouth, nose, face and arms three times, wipe your hair and ears, and your feet three times as usual.
So, a regular shower is not the same as making wudu, but you can easily make wudu in the shower, yep :>
