What exactly is a Cypher?

Umm ok a cypher is usually a code (I.E. 5265 might mean A I get this because the key to this code would be drop the outside numbers and the alphabet is backwards) that is hard to understand without the key.

Well this one is simple but I'll let you guys figure it out since if I tell you I will give away the answer(I used the simplest of codes)

to answer yer question... kerobian is a void mage... he is ancient... started out as a dragon... was killed quite young... then resurrected as a d. miner lion... over t ime void mages often change their forms... hence in his humanoid stage he's a bit unusual.... tentacles and all.... wink ....

well i had it half figured out... then ye gave the dang thing away... i'm not the best at crptograms but i do occassionally solve them... and i always look for the most common letters... and apply the the letter "e" first... and go down the list from there... certain letters are more common than most... also certain 3 letter words are used more often than others... "the, and, and so forth... then there is the smaller 2 letter words which if they repeat themselves in a cypher are usually is or it, "or" or of... but when ye said the easiest cypher... i had to laugh... for it's a=1 down to z=26...

why not... we share rebuses and sight puzzles... cyphers are fair game in my book blaugh i approve of any puzzle that makes the mind work 3nodding
