Okay, so Envy is almost everyone's favorite homunculus, but while I've always thought of him as a guy, I recently found out (by reading the Anime Profile book, so its official,) that in the Anime at least, Envy is a girl! So now I was wondering, what about the manga? Well in the profile book it said 'of uncertain gender' soooo...I want to know what other FMA fans think. Anyone want to lend a hand...? (though I'm pretty sure that Envy is always refered to as 'he'...even in the Anime...so what about Brotherhood? I'm going to have to go back and reread/watch everything now, though I'm not complaining)
Oh! Also, that means if Envy is a girl, the Anime ending is wrong...sorry for ranting on so much...

I read the anime profiles too! I was very confused as to why they kept on saying 'she'. (Maybe the people who made the book thought he was a girl based on appearance)
It is said that a homunculus doesn't have a gender and is simply a 'thing' or an 'it'. (Yet, FMA makes it so that it is more convincing that the homunculi have genders.)
I say Envy is a guy....a girly looking guy, but a guy just the same.
(If he was actually a girl, would there have been a gender swap in the anime since he was actually a guy? xD That would be kinda funny.)

I think Envy has no gender. But I refer to Envy as a "he" cause he looks like one.

I call em a "it" better known to me as "palm tree"
But he is a guy, technically his original form is a boy, therefore he is one. Though he tends to transform into girl shapes more than anything. So I guess he can be both. XD

And I only have mangas one to five! OWNED.
Anywho, I can't stand Envy sometimes. I love and hate Lust at the same time.

ummm well envy in the manga is considered an it because "it" can change form. in the anime he is considers a boy blaugh er something like that
