You've probably seen these words on the comment box of Yaoi anime episodes. I've always wondered, ever since I've first started watching Yaoi, if half (if not most) of its viewers are just there for the eye candy. Not that I'm saying all of you shounen-ai fans are just there to watch two guys make out or do other things, but when you read the above text, don't you think it gives people the idea that the person who commented is just there to see hot guys without even trying to understand the story or something? What do you think?

I only truly enjoy watching two dudes goin at it if I've seen an established, caring relationship prior to the sexytiems. I don't understand people who get their kicks with just straight-up sexytiems, no lovey dovey stuff.

I usually like it because it's alternative [well, to het stuff anyway.] sexy, and caring and stuff...
I'm also very picky of my pairings, so...
... And on a kinda-related note, I'm sure I'm more squicked by straight pairings then gay pairings. xd So it just seems natural for me to like all it encompasses.

Both in a way. I realy like the story and relationships but sometimes the other stuff is nice to andit can be a good pick me up and get me feeling better. But I like to think its more about the true love and bond then the other stuff though.

I'm more of a story kind of guy. The sex parts are a bonus to what has already occured in my mind.

No. I was more that way before. But I've since grown out of Yaoi. If I just happen to like two male characters together, then I do. It's not about the sex. I no longer go out looking for yaoi manga for the sake of yaoi.
If I read a yaoi manga, it's because I like the couple/characters in some way.
I've realized, that if a yaoi manga (or doujinshi) has a couple that I'm not interested in, then I'll just skip over the yaoi parts completely, because I have no interest in seeing them.

I've not checked out much of the stories...I've dropped out of the anime/ manga loop for a while....I'll probably get back in sometime.

I like there to be some story and romance (or SOME sort of relationship, they can hate each other, as long as it's interesting!) but sometimes, a dash of porn just does the trick biggrin
Pretty much, I'm there for entertainment. The guys don't have to make out or have sex, or even be attractive, but it sure helps >D

Well, I would consider myself more for the plot and watching the progressing relationships because if that sucks then I generally stop watching. I also tend to lose interest if I don't like any couples. (canon or ones I pair up myself)
Generally I find the sexy making out and other sorts of eye candy is just the cherry on top of your ice cream. A bonus of sorts, that can sometimes redeem a not so great plot if I like the couple. If not I'm not usually too interested in it. Though I will admit I have watched or read things just because it was PWP, because sometimes I don't feel like getting into some lengthy plot, or dealing with all the angst and drama thats less common in PWPs.

I'm a shounen ai fan so no smex for me XDD But yeah I do like looking at the kissing/making out scenes very hot yes....>/////>;;; But I'm more of a storyline/plot/relationship build up I want to be in the edge of my seat waiting for them to confess then have a satisfied "Dawwwwwww that's so sweet" in the end but if it's just I met you 10 seconds ago and I want to make out then I'm just like "ooookkkkk..................>.>;;" and completely turned off.

I like to see the character relationships develop and if I enjoy the story, I'll definitely enjoy whatever smut they throw in! =)

but more of second one, because I think it is the manga story lines that are making characters sexy and hot....
