But why do I bring this up here?
Well goths like creepy and undead things and for some time he fit into both those categories.
Ok all bad jokes aside, the king of pop is dead, it does kinda suck, it'd really suck if it happened 16 years ago when he was still relevant, but eh....
I will say this though, his funerals gonna be a thriller.
ohhhhh I'm so bad. ;D

We at the Table Top Gaming subforum have been punning the hell out of him.
Anyway, yeah it sucks he died. In a way, a huge part of the 80s died with him.

I think he was an amazing person. He just didn't know how to be a normal person because he'd been performing since he was young.

I agree-- MJ is one more example of how Hollywood and the entertainment industry can destroy people. He never got the chance to be a child, and so as an adult attempted to revert back to it. He made an incredible mark on the industry, and this cannot be denied. He changed music and MTV forever. He made it what it was. You don't have to like him, personally or musically, to admit this.
Its a shame though, that his death has upstaged Farrah Fawcett's. She fought cancer bravely for a long time, and I'm really disapointed with how the media treated her after MJ died. I was watching CNN and a reporter was interviewing Larry King, and he mentioned Farrah, and the reporter quickly dismissed her saying something to the effect of "yeah yeah may she rest in peace" and pressed him to talk about MJ again. It was very disrespectful.

His music wasn't really part of my generation, but it's weird knowing that he's dead. I wonder how long it will take for crude comedy cartoons to stop using them as the butt of all their jokes.

Apparently he didn't die of a heart attack at home.
He was found on a children's ward having a stroke.

When I heard he died, first thing that came to mind was that he'd come back as a zombie and remake the Thriller video.

Sucks about Farah Fawcett, the morning she died, her wish was: "I want the children of the world to be safe."

I'm really sad, because personally, I am a huge fan of his music. He was amazing. However, considering what he did, you know, I can't exactly look at him and admire him. However, I really did admire Farah Fawcett, and I think she deserves more respect and press coverage. She fought against cancer, she lived a pretty decent good life, she was pretty, and she didn't seem to think much of herself.

MJ's death wasn't a big shock for me because I didn't care about him at all for about the last 10 years... But still his music belonged to my childhood. I really loved some of his songs in 1995-1998 or so, before I moved on to other genres of music. One can't deny that this person had his uniqueness, in both his personality and music.
