Intertwined Fate

CHAPTER 1

It was Sunday morning. I woke up freezing to death in my room. It was still dark outside no longer than midnight. I stood up and went to the bathroom thinking maybe after I took a hot bath I would fall asleep. I got my stuff , undressed ,and stepped into the shower feeling the hot water in my skin and the steam filling the shower. It took minutes after I finished while I dried myself , dressed ,blow dried my deep black hair until it was almost dry and I also brushed my teeth to take away my morning breath. When I got finished, forgetting it was cold I put on a light jacket I had beside my desk. I opened the door and went downstairs to the kitchen to eat something . When I got to the kitchen I went to the cabinet to get cereal ,as I was pouring the milk in the bowl I saw my cat Louie finishing eating his food .I looked away and grabbed a spoon from the drawers . I sat down eating my food, as I looked at the clock I noticed it was 4:30 . I went back to eat my food when Louie startled me by jumping in my lap. I finished eating and went back upstairs to my room to watch TV . I got the control , sat in my bed , and turned on my TV . As I flipped through the channels I found cnn and watched it. Soon I fell asleep , hearing the news as a background dreaming about the next day, going to a new high school as an orphan being adopted by a famous artist as my mom . The worst part is that she has no kids and she just got divorced two years ago not even having a husband and also going to a new state and home from Chicago to Indiana. Soon I woke up from my mom’s voice her warm hands shaking my pale skinned shoulder.

“Wake up Annaliegh, come on wake up.”said Marie

"Am up Marie …I mean mom, sorry"i apologized

“ No, its okay. Now come on we have to leave.” said Marie

"Where are we going?"i asked

“ Shopping, you need new clothes.” said Marie

" Oh right, okay I’ll get ready, Thanks." i said

“ Okay. Well hurry up I’ll be in the car.” said Marie

Soon my mom’s long honey brown hair flows out of my room right behind her. As soon as my mom left the room I got up and took off my pajamas and put on my favorite black jeans and green top with my brand new white jacket and old sneakers. I ran to my mom’s black Ferrari with leather seats while trying to put my black hair in a ponytail. I got in putting on my seatbelt as my mom started her car. We were leaving the neighborhood when she filled the silent void with some classic music and some from the sixties . I heard them the first time she took us to our new home . The first ten I remember they were my favorites . Soon we arrived at the mall after a French classic. We found a parking space near the malls entrance . As I got out of the car I followed my mom to the front door . The sun was shining on Marie’s hair making it more brighter and mine more shinier. When we got in we went to look on the mall’s map choosing what store we would go first . mostly it was just Marie choosing I pretty much didn’t care am not very good at being girly. Finally we picked Abercrombie and Fitch we looked around picking what to buy . I had to say Marie looks much more younger when she said she was thirty-four to the assistant in the store . I tried on many clothes trying to find out what was my size in jeans and other clothes but it didn’t take long cause I was very skinny for a seventeen year old girl . We finally finished buying a few jeans, shirts, skirts, and other stuff. Relief that it was over we went to another store called 21 forever and the nightmare continued . Just when I thought it was over we continued our shopping spree in two other stores Papaya and Jcpenny. After we got so tired we went to eat in the food court . We picked out a pizzeria to eat in and went to a table in the far north of the food court. We didn’t speak at all while we ate enjoying the food too much well that was just me Marie only took a few bites of her pizza and a few sips of her coke I thought that was weird since we didn’t eat for five hours straight it was kind of awkward for me to eat while Marie was watching me curiously like I was doing something abnormal but I was just eating it wasn’t strange. I was thinking many strange things about Marie that I didn’t understand like her lack of eating , how much money she got and where it came from, her paintings of something’s that are like darkness and some lonely emotions in them until I came along , paintings she bought that looked so old , and her leaving the house and me once a month to go hiking for a whole week not even wanting me to come with her ,also her unnatural beauty and how unnormal she looked for her age . When I finished, Marie suggested that I should look for stuff I wanted while she went to get stuff for her art studio . So I went to a music store to buy some new cd’s for me and Marie. I went to the music store that was in the second floor . I took the elevator which was really full. I looked around the stores to see if I could find I already saw it when we came and looked in the map. Finally I found it. I went inside and looked around . I found some of my favorite bands The Fray, Coldplay, Paramore , Flyleaf , also some rap, pop, and classic’s for Marie. I found out that someone was watching me while I was looking for Marie’s music . He was tall he had brown messy hair and light blue eyes that were hypnotizing . I looked around to see if he was really watching me but there was no one else in the store except for me ,the salesperson, and him. I sneaked a peak to see if he was still watching me and he was. It was like I was entertaining him. He noticed that I was watching him now so he just smiled at me . I knew my face was turning red so I just looked back at the cds again I could hear him laughing silently his laugh so energetic and kind with some trouble making in it. I soon found all the cds I could carry so I went to pay for them . I walked to the register where I had to wait because he was in front of me . Then I noticed that he had the same music I had . He turned around while my mouth was opened and laughed his musical laugh I grabbed him by the arm without even thinking .

“ Hey why do you have the same music I have, what are you my stalker ! “
I yelled at him my grip getting harder when I talked.

He laughed again putting his hand in mine to loosen my grip from his arm.

He left without a word while I was getting mad at him. The guy in the cash register looked confused and astonished that I was right about the cds . I paid for them and went to find Marie. I found the store in the first floor . There I saw him again in front of the art store like he was waiting for me . I was amaze to see him there like he knew where I was going . I went inside the store. As I passed him I felt a cold breeze that matched his cold hands when we were in the music store . I knew I should apologize but I was speechless . I was only a few feet away from Marie when risked a to see if he was there but he was gone.

“ Hm , Oh Annaliegh are you looking for something ?”

“Um, Ah no nothing .” I said my voice disappointed that he wasn’t there .
Marie knew me enough that something was wrong so I just kept the conversation.

“Well I found some cds for us !” I said trying to sound exciting .

“What kind ?” She asked figuring out where I was going .

"Some classics for you and some I found interesting." I said making sure she knew I wanted to leave.

She looked at me and smiled her oh god smile . She went to pay for her stuff and came back. We got to the middle of the mall where she asked if I wanted to leave . She knew I was going to say yes so I just nodded . We went to the exit and went to find our car . It was already late so I just followed Marie she knew exactly where the car was which amazed me because even I would forget where the car was while staying in the mall for six hours straight. Soon we found our car and there he was Again . We walked past him . He was only two cars away from our car . He had a beautiful silver Honda which was my second to favorite car that I wanted. Suddenly I heard a little growl sound from somewhere . I looked around to see where it was coming from . I looked at Marie to ask her if she heard it but she was looking at the guy too . I followed her gaze to see him too . When I did he looked so angry and frustrated. He then noticed that I was looking at him and had a weak smile . I got in Marie’s car and put on my seatbelt. Marie noticed that I was looking at him . It felt like I was hypnotized by those light blue eyes. Marie looked really angry now so she suggested that I would try the music that I bought . She turned on the car and started driving while I picked a cd. I picked Paramore . It soon started . I looked at the side mirror to see if he was still there but he was gone again. I tried to focus on the music but I couldn’t get that face out of my mind. We were half way home . I looked at Marie and she was smiling at me her light blue eyes were filled with excitement . I meant to smile but I looked confused . I knew when Marie was excited it would end up good or bad so I tried to relax but that was hopeless . She got out of the car and started unpacking that’s when I finally realized that we were back home . I struggled to get out of the car still having those two faces in my mind. I got some stuff from the trunk and helped Marie with the bags. I went inside and headed to my room while Marie started getting dinner ready. I had to make three trips upstairs bringing the bags to my room . I had to set them down at my desk because Louie was sleeping in my bed. I looked at the bags full of clothes and sat down sighing . I fell into a nap when I heard Marie yelling my name I got up and ran downstairs almost tripping on one of the steps. I was out of breath when I got to the garage.

“What’s … Wrong…!” I said gasping for air.

“ Nothing why?” she asked.

“ You yelled!” I said

“ Oh ,well I didn’t mean too startle you Annie.” She said.
I looked up at her and saw her face which told me something was up.

“ What are you hiding?” I asked trying to smile.

“ Well……I got you something.” She said

“What did you get me ? Wait it’s not clothes is it? “ I said complaining while she pushed me to where the other garage was.

“ CLOSE YOUR EYES!!!” she squealed with joy

“oh no please don’t tell me it’s something girly!” I thought

“ Okay open them.” she said

I slowly opened them for dramatic affect and right there in front of me was a shiny black new convertible with a red top of it.

“Shut up OMG” I screamed and jumped into the car.

It had leather seats and everything. I got out and hugged Marie for the first time. Of coarse I got her off guard but she hugged me back . I found out she was crying so I backed away and smiled . She regained herself and smiled back.

“ It’s a welcome present since you already got your licensed I thought you would need a car of coarse!” she said

“ Thanks mom its perfect I love it!” I said hugging her again she needed it.

“Welcome” she said sobbing

I finally got out of the hug and went back inside with my mom following me.
