During the prom event, I was hanging out in an adult thread that got a discussion going about how things were when we were young. These things that we remember are things that make us special as old Gaians.
I have always loved animals, so when I was a kid, I absolutely LOVED the show The World of David the Gnome. Whenever I mention it to anyone, no one seems to remember it. Did any of you watch it?
http://www.retrojunk.com/details_tvshows/64-the-world-of-david-the-gnome/
If you look under videos on the right of the description, you can see the opening and closing credits. And just so you know, everything else on the site is equally cool. The site is called Retro Junk and it contains all of the the beloved movies and shows from our childhood. biggrin

(hey Dew didn't we check out that site, or you said something about it?)

I used to watch those too. biggrin I really thought that this thread would be more popular, but I guess not. Then I realized that I misnamed this thread. I meant to name it "Back in the day," but I ended up naming it "Back in day." I sound kind of like some of my foreign exchange student friends. lol (We tease each other about the way we say things all the time.) My family is babysitting my boyfriend's girlfriend's 11 year old little brother this week because she is out of town. So, today the little brother shows me his DSi that you got for his birthday. The toy seemed oddly familiar, so I decided to show him my Game Boy Camera that I got in 1998. When I turned it on, I realized just how outdated it was. The resolution was awful, but I remember thinking that it was amazing 11 years ago. I can't believe how quickly technology is changing. All of my stuff is becoming very outdated. I feel kind of like an antique. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Boy_Camerahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_DSi

Lol, I know the feeling, remember when Atari was state of the art?? On the note of video games too, does anyone remember the Turbo Grafx 16?? I loved that system, the coolest thing about it was the games could be used on the main system as well as the Turbo Xpress! I wish things were as versatile now instead of having to buy a different game cartridge or disk for switching between main systems and travel ones xp

And regional protection needs to go. I hate seeing NTSC on things. But, did you know that there is something that you can buy to attach to the Gamecube that lets you play GBA games on it? My brother bought one when he got his Gamecube. I got to the point where I started playing all of my GBA games on it. 3nodding
(I have heard of it Dew, but I never had one.)

I actually wanted to be a vet when I was a kid because of David. lol
Do you remember Bog and Quagmire from Eureka's Castle? I thought of them the first time that I found out that there was a character named Quagmire on Family Guy. A pervert makes me think of a beloved kid's show. sweatdrop I also never forgot who the explorer Magellan was thanks to Eureka's Castle. blaugh

My one boss calls me not-the-Laura because he can never remember my name but remembers who my friend Laura is.. thus relating me as someone who's not laura but knows we're related. and of course, Not-The-Laura is directly from Dinosaurs.. cause the baby dino would always say "Not-the-Mama!" xp good times.

Speaking of people who can sound like other people, a friend of mine can sound like pretty much anyone, as long as you give him something to listen to. Now to add some random stuff I remember from being a kid.
There was Mighty Mouse and James Bond Jr. What else..... how about Don Ho? Anyone remember that old guy?
