I usually read while sitting on a bookshelf, but I'm guessing that isn't an option for most of you! lol

You know, I nearly voted for the toilet, because that is where I retreat when I'm at a critical plot point (we all know the bathroom is a sacred place to be mostly undisturbed). But generally just all over the house. I carry a book with me practically everywhere while I do chores, cook, eat, teach the kids, etc. I have been known to spend ages searching for my book because I took it with me to the laundry room and forgot to bring it up with the clean laundry.

Everywhere. I can't even begin to list the places Hehe.

Nanny, I've never retreated to the bathroom at a critical point, but that is quite funny that you do. Maybe when I have children I'll understand. lol

When I was in secondary school I definitely would've selected "in-between places." I read on the school bus, in the car with my parents, and I perfected walking through the school hallways being able to read without crashing into people! smile Now, though, I'd have o say that I read mostly at home.

I most normally read in my room or at school sometimes.

I can't even tell you how many times I got in trouble for reading during class. I'd always have my fantasy books under the desk, pretending to pay attention. My french teacher actually asked me why I couldn't just do drugs like a normal student. And I just told her drugs didn't slay dragons. She and most of my other teachers gave up after that. As long as I got the work done, they didn't care. A guy who liked me always used to lean on my desk during class. The teacher (i think this was creative writing) actually snapped at him and was like don't you know it's rude to hover over a girl while she reads? She said I could hit him with the book if I wanted too. Ahhh I miss high school. Now I mainly read either in the bed or in the bathroom. I read in the bathroom to avoid my cat. She likes to sit on my books only while I'm reading.

LOL, Trickster, you're so lucky! The teachers at my school were quite nasty about it, even though I was reading college-level stuff under my desk and still getting A's. I got written up a couple of times, even. My mum told me to ignore them - I love my mum!

Minerva - I got good at walking around between classes while reading too! The bell always rang when I was at a good part, I couldn't just close it and wait! I totally identified with Belle when that movie came out, precisely because she could wander through an entire choral montage while reading.

My funniest reading moment came when my family took a vacation to Sweden, Denmark and Iceland - my grandmother emigrated from Sweden, and we wanted to see where she spent her childhood. Anyway, I had my nose buried in a book (as usual) while we drove, and to this day my mum grouses about how she had to shout at me, "It's the North Sea! Look! IT'S THE GOD DAMNED NORTH SEA!!!" and I barely glanced up. It gets brought up every time I'm not paying enough attention now...

I generally read at home or at random places. I like to read in corners so if I am waiting at the college where I work for it to be time to clock in, I sit in a corner and read until I get told to go clock in. I have done this so many times that my boss has given me books to read that he think I will be interested in. Also while I was in Germany, I helped get the whole group we were with to read Twilight and our German teacher got mad at us because we were all reading during the train rides and what not and we were not paying attention to the surrounding areas.

Oh and in highschool there was this thing called Reading Period. On every Wednesday and Thursday, everyone had to read for 20 minutes and it was really nice because it was quiet in the WHOLE school!

I amazed most of my teachers with what I was reading and how much at an early age. Because my teachers wanted to encourage reading, it flummoxed quite a few of them when they had to tell me to put my book away because I was so engrossed in it that I hadn't heard the bell that started class. xd

I used to read in the in-between places, but now I probably read most at home. I'll still take a book with me when I go places, and if I don't have to go in straight away, you could see me sitting in my car, reading away. 4laugh

Gerp, that Reading Period thing sounds wonderful. While I was in middle and high school, I signed up for clubs that would let me read. ^_^

lol I also perfected the walking while reading, although Belle was more of an inspiration than anything else when I first saw the movie. I still use that trick walking across campus sometimes. hehe.

I read while sitting on my pink bean bag chair. Except, I've acquired this REALLY bad habit of popping the stuffing that fills the bean bag. whee Yet, I really like the sound it makes. It's worse than bubble wrap. sweatdrop

Although, sometimes when I'm just to tempted to spend my time popping the stuffing instead of reading, I sit in front of my table and read there. The view outside is really pretty too. My dad takes really good care of the backyard. 3nodding I would open the window too except my parents get mad since the AC is on. stare

Just wait 'till fall comes along. stressed

Oh, and this all happens inside my room. So comfy in there. whee
