Gotta question for you all: Do you give a thankyou for the people who buy your items in the marketplace? Or do you ignore the PM or delete it?

To answer that question myself, truthfully, it depends on what type of mood I'm in. Most of the times I do copy the username, search for them, and write a comment saying thankyou, etc., other times I ignore 'em. But then, I feel bad afterwards. I am a nice person and try to give my thanks to who would sacrifice their gold to other's to get what they want. You know I mean? 3nodding

I don't see the point in it. They want the item, they buy it. Thanking them isn't gonna bring them back if they don't want your items, prices bring them back if they DO want your items. I'm giving them an item for their gold, it's thanks enough in my opinion 3nodding

I consider it a waste of energy on my part. I don't use my store often enough to hope to attract regulars or anything.

I gotta agree that its a waste of time, I only sell things on occasion so its not like I'm ever going to talk to these people again.

A thank you is always nice.

You know, I think that the people who do that are trying to get repeat business. I mean, it's kinda pointless when you look at it, but it's still a nice thing to do, even if they don't mean it.
On that note, I never thank people for buying my things. I had it, they wanted it, and they got it. Transaction finished. I suppose I'm just a bit unfriendly as a merchant.

I don't send thank-you notes. I do get comments on my profile, "thank you for buying from me". I usually ignore them.

i used to do that. but then i thought what's the point confused half of the ppl who buy from me have private profiles. and it was taking up time so i just quit.

I do occasionally. If it's a "big-ticket" item I definitely do. I think it adds a nice human touch to the whole affair and, I hope, helps remind people that it isn't just a username that they're dealing with.

Semi-related: I've sold a couple of cameras on eBay and I shipped them each with a roll of film or two...

I don't leave notes, no. I probably should, I just figure, well, I PAID them. They have what they want.

It doesn't feel like a personal thing to me. But maybe, since others do, I should. I would hate to be offending people! redface

The first time I received a thanks-for-buying PM, I thought that it was a nice thing to do. However, when my inbox and comments was just getting filled up with the same purchase related messages it kind of got annoying. Especially if I've just gone and bought a stack of cheap game items and every single vendor that I bought from responds. I think people should stick too just doing it for major sales if at all.

There's no buyer-seller loyalty involved in the marketplace. At the end of the day people will buy your stuff because you've put a good price on it, not because you have a history of seeing your e-customers off with a "thank you, come again!"

I never send messages. xp Because I don't even read them if someone sends them to me. Not really worth the effort I feel. Still, whatever floats yer boat.

I usually only use it when I want to sell a cash shop item and make lots of gold off of it... Then I go and thank them and remind them to look me up when next they want to buy something. But if I'm hocking cheap items that I don't want (which likely won't be an issue - now I can just trash it,) then I don't bother.
