I love my school, we're a small school, so you wouldn't expect us to have a great fine arts department but we do! more than 60% of the students are in something with fine arts weather its band orchestra, choir, or musicals/plays. Its amazing how many people are involved. about how many ppl r in urs?

Fine arts ftw.
Like 100 in band, including guard (which I wish I didn't have to count.) Bout 100 in drama.
A school of bout 400, so like 50%

My school is trying to kill the fine arts. They took away the funding for band and Choir to the point where we cant even pay for one bus...together. I'm in Band, Photography, and Music history/Theory, and this is pissing me off. gonk
I'm glad you guys are doing good tho! sweatdrop

Not enough apparently. Texas must not be doing so well in the fine arts if we've got a organization trying to protect it. It's either that or they think forcing students to take extra courses for the state test is more important, even though studies have shown that fine arts students "demonstrate higher achievement in other academic areas" (www.goarts.org).

They're talking about taking away band and choir altogether gonk They've already gotten rid of music/PE at the elementary level and band at middle school level may be gone as well. My mom and I want to stage a protest xD

New Mexico's Fine Arts program rocks. My dad runs the Albuquerque division and he's been fighting really hard and winning to keep Fine Arts in the schools.
