The Legend of Zelda: Link's Story (STARTED-PROLOGUE DONE) This is an original fanfiction by me. This is the story of our favourite hero, Link, and his adventures throughout his entire life, from birth to death. I will try to post a new chapter at least every other week. Feel free to post comments, suggestions, etc.

HISTORY of HYRULE GAME-WISE
(as I believe it to be based off evidence I have gathered) My story
Ocarina of Time
*AT THIS POINT, THE HISTORY SPLITS INTO TWO TIMELINES, CHILD AND ADULT. CHILD TIMELINE WAS CREATED WHEN LINK WENT BACK IN TIME AND SEALED AWAY THE MASTER SWORD, HALTING GANONDORF'S PLANS AND LEADING TO HIS ARREST. THESE EVENTS LEAD TO TWILIGHT PRINCESS, 100 YEARS LATER. ADULT TIMELINE WAS CREATED WHEN LINK DID NOT GO BACK INTO TIME. THE EVENTS OF THIS PATH LEAD TO THE WINDWAKER 100 YEARS LATER*
CHILD TIMELINE
Majora's Mask
Twilight Princess
ADULT TIMELINE
A Link to the Past
Legend of Zelda
The Adventure of Link
Link's Awakening (during the Adventure of Link)
The Windwaker/Phantom Hourglass
UNKNOWN TIME
Minish Cap
Four Swords
Four Swords Adventures (these three, which are the story of the same Link, are believed to be before Ocarina of Time)
Spirit Tracks
Oracle of Ages/Seasons (Believed to be either before Ocarina of Time or during the Child Timeline)
DOCUMENT-WISE (This will probably change as my story progresses and I gain new information on the Zelda games) *to be completed*

Note:
Because of the map I am using, there are some contradictions. Chronologically, the town names from Zelda II are named from the sages. I am using the Zelda II map, but my story is before even Ocarina of Time. For simplicity, I will use the names on the map given, with the following exceptions:
There is no Hidden Town of New Kasuto. Old Kusuto Ghost Town is just called Kasuto. It is not a ghost town. Kakariko Village (very new village) is South of Calatin. It ends up being South-West of the Cemetary, but Kakariko Village and the Cemetary are not connected yet. The Old King's Tomb in the Graveyard has not been built, yet, but may end up being in the story much later on. There is no Island Palace. However, there are currently plans to build a new castle on that island, and decide to make it the new Hyrule Castle. The river that flows to the East ends up flowing into the Zora Domain, which continues on flowing into a lake, which in the future will be named Lake Hylia, just south of the Gerudo Desert (aka Desert of Doubt). As of yet, Hyrule is expanding into the areas known in Ocarina of Time. All 'place' palaces (4th palace, 5th palace, etc.) as well as the dungeons, are old castles/temples, some intact, some in ruins. The Old Gambler's Den is just called the Gambler's Den.
Thanks for putting up with me!

The father came in. He didn't know whether it was a boy or a girl. He looked at his wife, who had just given birth.
"It's a boy," she said. "What should we call him? We still haven't decided on a name yet. Now seems to be the perfect time."
The father thought about is for a moment. "I don't know. Something meaningful. Something to show how he has joined us together closer than we thought we could be."
"How about... Link? He has linked us together," the mother said.
"That is a very unusual name," the father said, "but it feels... right. Link it is."
The celebrations for the birth of the baby Link were to begin one week later. The whole town of Mido was busy in anticipation of the festival. Everyone was invited. There were to be the blessing by the three Wise Women, activities, games, storytelling, feasting, everything that you could be imagined.
The day of the celebration was at hand. As was tradition, just as the sun was setting, the three Wise Woman of Mido came to bless the baby. They went into their trances in preparation to give the Blessing of the Three Goddesses unto the baby.
However, the blessings they gave were troubling.
The Wise Woman of Din came to the baby Link, lifted him up, and said "He will have great strength, which he will be needed in his eternal struggle against those who would abuse me and my power."
The Wise Woman of Faroré then came to the baby Link, placed her hand on his head, and said "He will be wise, for he will need great wisdom to solve the problems he will face in in the eternal task of protecting those hold my power for the cause of Good."
Finally, the Wise Woman of Nayru came up to the baby Link, placed her hand on his heart, and said "He will be truly courageous, and he will have my Courage to aid him in his eternal duty of the protection of Good and the combat of Evil."
The three Wise Women then chanted together "We three Goddesses, Din, Faroré, and Nayru, place these gifts, obligations, burdens, futures, upon thee, Link, in the hopes that you will serve and protect Hyrule when you are needed. We will always be watching over you, for all of time..." They then put the baby back into his crib.
There was nothing but silence. The three Wise Women came out of their trance, stepped away, starring at the child. Then they started conversing with each other. After discussing amongst each other, they went up to the parents. "Please, do not worry. While in our memory the Goddesses have never blessed any in a way such as that, we are sure that there is no need to worry for now. Please, continue on with the celebration. We are going to go converse amongst ourselves for a while longer. Please don't disturb us. We will come and get you when we are done. Please, celebrate. It is not often that a child will grow up to be as great as he." After saying that, they walked off.
The father went to the head of the table, and called "Well. It is not every day that a child is born, or that a child has such an apparent destiny! Let us celebrate!"
And what a celebration it was. The town of Mido hadn't had a celebration that great for over ten years. However, it was not to last.
No one noticed the lone stranger come into the town. No one noticed when the lone stranger came up to the baby. In fact, the boy's mother did not notice until the lone stranger lifted the baby up. "Don't worry, good mother. I just wish to give my blessing." He turned to the boy. "You, boy, will never die, not really. You will always have this task put upon you by the Goddesses. That seems a cruel thing to do. I will end that task for you, especially since I cannot allow you to live. I will not allow you to stop me. Here is-" He stopped as he heard the mother cry out.
"Arceaus! You! How DARE you come here! DIE!!" she threw the throwing needles she had drawn. She drew a magical whip out as she was pulling out more needles.
"Ah, yes, you would be the little Shiekah maiden that tried to stop me so many years ago," Arceaus said as he stopped the needles with Dark Magic. "You are a hardy one. How did you survive?"
"Me." said a voice from behind him. As Arceaus turned he saw the blade coming up at him. Arceaus grabbed it and said, "Ah, you. Quite a surprise. I suppose I have to pay you back for that scar you gave me. Almost hit my heart." He grunted as he felt needles enter his side. He stopped the woman, "don't worry, my dear little maiden. I haven't forgotten about you." He lifted her with Dark Magic, retrieved her whip, lashed it around her neck, and threw her against a wall. As her husband started shouting, Arceaus said, "now I can return your favour." The blade shattered, and the shards were launched at the man. As he started to fall, Arceaus threw him with Dark Magic to his wife. He turned to Link, who at this point was awake, but not crying. "And now, to business." He lifted a wicked dagger, laced with Darkness, and shouted "By the Great Lord of Darkness, I command you to DIE!" and went to plunge the dagger into Link's heart.
However... he couldn't... There was a barrier. He tried again, and this time he was frozen in place. What?!? What is this?!? There was a large Triforce on the ground around him.
"The Goddesses will not allow you to harm this child," the three Wise Women all said. "Leave, or be punished by the Goddesses!"
Suddenly, the Triforce burst, and the three Wise Women were thrown back. "I serve a power greater than the Goddesses!! What can they do to oppose me?!? Compared to the Great Lord, they are NOTHING! NO-" He was stopped. He fell to the floor, retching. "No! NO! Not... strong... enough..." his eyes glazed over. "Master, please, I need more power to do your bidding! Give it to me!!" The Wise Women stared, waiting for him to do something. "But Lord, He can stop us, I know it!" He started to writhe in agony. "PLEASE, MASTER, I WILL OBEY!!" He stopped writhing. He stood, and looked at the three Wise Women. "Do not fear. I am done. My Master wants me to leave you with a warning. Abandon this boy, or be destroyed by the Power of my Master Itself. My Master wishes to confront this boy alone, when he is of age. My Master will enjoy defeating the tool of the Goddesses. He WILL prove that he is stronger. Until then, repent to the Great Lord of Darkness. He may forgive you." He faded away.
The Wise Women ran over to the boy's parents. They were both dead. The three Wise Women conversed amongst each other. "We must send him away," the Wise Woman of Faroré said. "In preparation, though. Sending him away in fear will destroy us all," the Wise Woman of Nayru replied. "I know where we shall send him," the Wise Woman of Din said. "There is an old Shiekah Battle-Chief in Kasuto. We shall send Link to him. This Battle-Chief will know exactly what to do." The other two Wise Women looked at her, and said "Agreed. We shall send at once. We all shall go."

Well here's the thing, I'm a LOZ fanboy, and so...yeah, warning.
Okay, first of all, the end of Ocarina, link road away into the forest, Majora's Mask, was a direct continuation (If I spelt that right,) of the Ocarina of time. How he managed to become a kid again we don't know, but every loyal fanboy with no life knows that the ending of Ocarina was the beginning of Majora's Mask. Also, three wise women? I nearly fell out of my chair when I read that, also, that whole "barrier" thing around Link, reminds of another story. Hmm parents had a baby, a protective spell was put around him, the parents died, the ad guy couldn't kill the kid. The kid is destined to be hero. If you haven't caught on I'm saying it sounds alot like Harry Potter. When you write a story, especially if you want it to be as original as possible, don't take story lines from things you watched or read.
I appreciate the correct usage of quotations, that's rare here in the guild. I'm glad some people are literate.

For the timeline things, I am going off of what Nintendo has released (one of those things was that there are two timelines after OoC, Adult (which leads to Wind Waker) and Child (which leads to Twilight Princess) and by my own inferences.
I actually did not realise that prologue sounded like Harry Potter. Thanks for the warning. I will try to not write like that again.
