~{Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. This is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange.}~Okay, so I heard that back in 2005 that Fma was really popular. I knew that Fma used to be popular, so when it wasn't that popular anymore, I started reading the manga, and shortly started watching the anime. My thought is, how come all of a sudden people are getting into Fma in massive numbers? Like, a few months ago, nobody really talked about Fma anymore, but now recently, a whole bunch of people are slowly putting Fma on the verge of becoming the new Naruto. Maybe Fma's popularity will slowly come down a bit, for all I know. But Fma's sudden spike in popularity just makes me wonder why now... (My fear is that if Fma become really popular, it might gain a retarded fanbase that will make the smart fans look stupid -_-" ) ~{Saruna-chan is Alphonse Elric's #1 fan.}~

I know! It's so weird that there have been many more people getting into this (maybe it's because it's been out for this long) I hope that we won't get names equivalent to narutards (like maybe fullmetaltards......or something......*awkward silence*.......)
Yet, for some reason there isn't much conversation about it in an actual anime/manga meeting place. We have one of those in my local library about once a month, but no one seems to talk about popular shonen anime like that (except Naruto of course -_-")

~{Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. This is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange.}~I blame the dude that answers everyone's letters in Anime Insider magazine(which I read...). He put a full list of names mocking anime fans in the magazine. Of course I saw that FullMetal Alchemist was among them; be prepared to be called a "FoolMetal Alchemist." rolleyes I so lol'd when I first read that...it's not as bad as "Narutard..." BUT ANYWAY....yeah, I don't really know anybody in real life who knows what "a Fma" is anyway. -_- My friend Noel knows, but that's it....and I never hear about it either(I dont have an anime/manga meeting place crying ). Only twice: ~I was in Barnes and Nobles in the manga section, and I was holding the Al plushie I made. There was this girl who looked at it at first and then was like, "I know who that is, hold on-!" and they were guessing until I finally just told them. Then they were like, "Oh yeah! My friend's all into that now. That's cool that you made that though!" and she left. ~I was in a Hot Topic somwhere not anywhere near my house....but anyway, I was looking at some scarves on sale for 2 bucks and this girl comes up to me and is like, "Is that Ed??" and I'm like, "Lolz no it's Al from the movie," and she said, "Oh yeah, it looks exactly like him! Where did you buy that???!!" and I told her I made it, then she took a look at him, and she was talking about how she saw the movie and how she loves Fma. Ah, good times. ~{Saruna-chan is Alphonse Elric's #1 fan.}~

I'm not going to let noobs ruin it for me...(not like all noobs are bad though O_o) And yeah; the only thing posers know how to say is like, "ED ROCKZZZZ" or something. O_O Though some actual fans do say that.....OH! What about anybody who calls themself a fan but can't spell alchemist right? Because that word is right in the title. Haha I don't hate n00bs that much.....unless they start flaming characters/things I like, then it's personal! scream But some of the people who don't use proper grammar or punctuation are considered the entire fanbase of something, which really irks me. It's just like saying that if you love Albert Einstein (which I think people that are really into science must like him that much) and somebody makes a mistake that he's from Austria or some other European country instead of Germany, then all the Einstein fans are considered dumb. (I know I bring up sucky examples xD )

~{Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. This is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange.}~That's exactly what I'm talking about! Last time someone posted a Fma thing where you answer these like, 15 questions. Their spelling and grammar was WAY off, they spelled really simple words wrong. So I answered the questions but told them how to spell right in between, and they were like, "I don't care if I can't spell" and I replied back, "I don't care either but you're making the rest of us Fma fans look stupid." He didn't reply back I think after that. razz ~{Saruna-chan is Alphonse Elric's #1 fan.}~

Yeah, lawl, I think I'm gonna make a banner with Ed saying "The only Edward that matters" X'D Yeah! The same thing happened to me! My friend and I were talking about who we really want to dress up as for Halloween. I was saying that I wanted to be Edward from Fullmetal Alchemist for fun since I just started reading the series (she didn't hear the fullmetal alchemist part) She said: "Cool! You just read Twilight? That would be funny if you dressed like Edward, you need lots of hair gel and dress in all black though. I can't imagine seeing you like that." Me: "Uuum, no I mean Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist." *awkard silence*

But then one day I realized that Ed from Fma had the same name as Edward Cullen and I was like, >> stare ~{Saruna-chan is Alphonse Elric's #1 fan.}~

Gah, happens to me all the time -_-; I find it demeaning how all girls want now is Edward from twifail... I mean, you'd rather pic some fake dude over me? crying That hurts...
It doesn't matter though cause I'm already taken XD
Anyway, back to the topic. Sometimes people do like a show/book & then when they see it has a sad ending they hate it. I don't like that.

~{Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. This is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange.}~LOL. xd Yeah why does everybody always like fake dudes? O_o I liked fake people when I was like, in 5th grade or something, and then I got over it. Seriously... BUT ANYWAY. Yeah, I hate it when that happens too. I started off watching Fma knowing how it ended though because 1)I watched the movie first O_o and 2)My LOVELY friend told me the ending though I tried not to listen. stressed My only hope is that Fma doesn't gain fantards that will make all Fma fans look dumb. No matter what I won't ditch Fma because of that, but still. -_- ~{Saruna-chan is Alphonse Elric's #1 fan.}~

I wouldn't either, but twifail wasn't good to start off with so its good that you ditched it XD
I don't think anyone could make FMA look bad though... FMA was a great story from the beginning, & even if posers started to like it.

~{Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. This is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange.}~True, true. Even though the first anime and the manga are different, both are still good and have really good, deep plots. X3 And is posers started to like it, then it would be kind of obvious anyway they're posers and why they popped up all of a sudden. ~{Saruna-chan is Alphonse Elric's #1 fan.}~

I read the first three books of the Twilight series. I admit I was caught up in the mania at the time, but I truely didn't like it so much. It....er...how do you say it? It didn't really have much substance to it, like no deeper meaning or anything. neutral Well back to the topic then: I seemed to have realized something. Ms. Arakawa stated she was interested in the ways of alchemy, then she started writing the series after that. Do many popular series need to have something to be based off of, like ninjas (Naruto) or samurai (Bleach) or anything else?
