yes and no... i am under the impression that men are more concerned with a certain look... and when they embrace one they go full tilt... sometimes sticking with it for the bulk of their lives... where as women tend to be more susceptible to what is currently being toted as style and fashion... hence they are more flexible in their choices... so in a way women are concerned more with fashion, but only in the way it can be used to make them look good... whereas, men use fashion as a statement of what they are...

but she is right austin, if you really want a debate then you need to tell her tat she is wrong rolleyes duh. but i agree with ly also, i have SO many friends that are guys tat are more worried if thier bandannas are just right and their spiked hair isnt drooping that it bugs even me. my boyfriend literally has more hairspray then i do! just in his CAR. but with the whole varying of looks for girls vs the stagnant look for guys it just depends on the person, not the fact that they are guys or girls if you ask me everyone is just about how they personaly look at fashion

Aw, nobody is being any fun...
It all depends on what is meant by "fashion". I take "fashion" in the question to mean the aesthetic qualities of clothing, garments and other bodily adorments whose appeal is in some sense transient.
More retail floorspace is dedicated overall to women's clothes than men's; the market has spoken. There is more money to made by attempting to influence what is aesthetically pleasing in clothes for women than for men. So I think that the question for "fashion", treating each gender as a whole, has an unambiguous answer.
That isn't to say that there aren't areas where men follow trends-cars being an obvious one.
And the question "Who is more concerned with their appearance/the clothes they wear?" is a different question. A subtly different question, but a different question nonetheless.

Link, you are a genius. Of course, that is so very true. We all dress to impress. It all depends though as to who we wish to impress the most. Is it our friends, our community, our girlfriends (or boyfriends), our bosses, or ourselves? And I include ourselves in there because some people simply want to portray a certain image, no matter what the others in their lives think.
