I'm writing a waka poem for my book project about the book called "The Tale Of Murasaki" by Liza Dalby. I was looking for someone who could translate it to Japanese for me, as it would be really cool to have a version of it in Japanese, Romanji and Hirigana if possible. Can anyone help me?

I finally wrote it! It sucks and I'm not too sure about my crane reference, but, here goes:

Eternal in words
Murasaki's like the crane
Living forever
Instead of the thousand years
That a crane can claim to live

>.< anyone wanna try to translate it? at least to Romanji.

This is what I got, Sorry it's in Kanji:

クレーンが住むように要求できること単語Murasakis で 永遠千年の代りに永久に住んでいるクレーンを好みなさい

But when I translate it again into English this is what I get:

That the crane lives, like the crane which with the thing word Murasakis which can be required has lived permanently in place of eternal thousand years

Sooo......
I tried.

I tried to translate it with google. http://translate.google.com/translate_t

Online translating site are awesome for butchering things. I wrote a speech in Japanese to deliver for Coming of Age Day and my co-worker had to re-write the entire thing cuz it came out as crap.

I think there are some fluent Japanese speakers in the guild but I dont know who they are. Try Ashvem (or his name is smilar to that).

I'm not fluent, but I think I know enough to tackle something of this size. Here goes:

Kotoba ni eien
Tsuru mitaina Murasaki
Tsuru no sennen no kawarini
Eiei ikiru

ことばにえいえん
つるみたいなむらさき
つるのせんねんのかわりに
えいえいいきる

It wasn't translated line for line. In case you're wondering exactly what I wrote, it was intended to be:

Eternal in words
Murasaki, like the crane
Instead of the thousand years of a crane
He lives forever

I'm afraid this will have to do until you find a real (or better) Japanese speaker.
