it is in the center if it mattered i would put it to the left or right or up or down but it doesnt that is all you need to know find out wat the common phrase is from that

My clue is...
Initially, the solution walks around.
(edit:this is probably more complicated than the original riddle-clue 2 is that the x is the sort that comes at the end of a letter/text message/email)

Would it be easier if the X above were replaced by a rock quartet with black-and-white painted faces?
