The Warriors are...(Are you ready for this?)...CATS! eek razz Yep, the cats live in four separate clans in the forest and have alliances and wars and whatnot. It's actually quite intense for a children's series. The author isn't afraid to kill off characters, have descriptive battles, and make characters lose their sanity.

Well, I should say the authors. 'Erin Hunter' is really three different women. Two of them write the books and the third makes sure that the books are consistent so that the writing style is the same.

Anyway, it's a very good series. i wouldn't say it's one of the best ones in the entire world, but it's definitely an original and well-written children's series.

I've read the first two warriors series and really enjoyed them (and because I like cats). In some ways it reminded me of the Redwall series I'd read when I was in Elementary school and in other ways it seemed for a much older audience. I always found it a fun read though.

I finished the first series, and got through the first four books in The New Prophecy set. I plan on reading the last two when I'm in the mood for kitties. xd

I don't have one favourite character. I like Fireheart, Graystripe, Ravenpaw, Cinderpelt, Cloudtail, and Tallstar quite a lot. I know lots of people don't like Cloudtail, but arrogant characters in books tend to appeal to me. My kitten in real life is grey, hence I named her Cinderpelt. heart The New Prophecy heroes aren't as interesting. Brambleclaw is cool, I suppose, but Squirrelflight annoys me.

I liked how the issue of insanity was raised with Bluestar, and how Graystripe leaving and returning again showed how people do that with their families. I think that the only time I cried during the series was when he left. cry

I've read every one of the books out there, and I love them all. My favorite is the fifth book in the third series, Long Shadows. It's so dramatic. wink
