Her books that were translated from German include:
Dragon Rider
The Thief Lord
Inkheart
Inkspell
Inkdeath

So, who's read her? What did you think?

I've read the middle three books you've listed. Though I must admit, it's been a long time since I read the Theif Lord.

I can't wait till the movie comes out for Inkheart. *fangirl squee* BRENDAN FRASIER!!! But it looks veeeeeeeeeerry different from the book. I enjoyed the book... i suppose.... It wasn't the greatest read in my opinion, but she has a real good idea going there. I have yet to get my hands on book three though, and I'm looking forward to it.

I found Dragon Rider immensely boring, thought The Thief Lord was unique and fun, and deemed Inkheart and Inskpell as 'okay.'

In the Ink sereis, Dustfinger was my favourite character from the beginning, and I liked how he developed from a selfish person into a person that willingly sacrificed his life for someone else. Because I liked his death, and it was implied he'd be brought back to life in Inkdeath, I have no desire to read the final installment.

The Thief Lord film was amazingly close to the book, and I enjoyed it. I hope tha Inkheart cinematic production is as good.

Let's see- I've read the first chapter of Dragon Rider, But I lost the book somewhere. I read Theif Lord, a LONG time ago, so frankly I can't remember it that well. That books somewhere in all my still-packed-up boxes. Maybe I should read it again, once I find it that is.

I started reading my friends copy of Inkheart, but she wouldn't let me finish it. crying So, I plan on reading all three of those sometime.

Dragon Rider= I read the first few chapters but it was confusing and boring at the same time. Not recommended.
The Thief Lord=Pretty good. I liked the idea of it but the ending was a bit out of it. Too much happened too fast in the end while there wasn't much going on in the beginning.
Inkheart= It was ok at first but then it started getting better and ended up pretty good- good enough for me to try Inkspell.
Inkspell=It was a bit better than Inkheart. I liked it.
Inkdeath= I didn't get around to reading it yet sweatdrop .

I've read Inkheart and Inkspell, both of which I liked, but I do get the sense that the writing is much much better in its original language. I wish my German was better...or that they had a better translator. I haven't gotten Inkdeath yet, but do look forward to reading it when I do.

Bottom line - not the best flow in her writing, but I'm not sure if that's a translation problem more than anything else. She still rates high on my list as someone who does good sensory descriptions - it's not all visual, she makes sure the scents and sounds get in there too. I look forward to seeing what she does next.
