Can't say I've ever seen the ad, Lin. : (

gonk Anyone who lives in the New England area, or at least Massachusetts is probably familar with the Bernie and Phyl's ad, and can sing the jingle from memory.
Ohh god. I know that one. We get several TV channels from New England, and that ad drives me crazy. (Well, we did at home. I don't think we do here in Saint John.)
For the Canadian ATGers, does any of the following sound familiar? x3
"He'd be in this cape."
"A what?"
"A cape. Wearing these blue tights."
"A hero in tights, really...here it is."
"Listen, Lois, this guy is faster than anything, I swear!"
"If you're not fast, you're going to miss your train!"
"That's it, a bullet. A bullet! He's fast, no he's faster than a speeding bullet!"
"No one's gonna read a comic strip about a strong man in tights, Joe, it'll never fly."
"Fly, no. But he can leap over tall buildings!"
Or, how about:
"Dr. Penfield, I can smell burnt toast!"
Or perhaps...
*Dramatic music, then a Native elder speaking*
"What's he saying, Father?"
"Commander Cartier, he's saying this nation's name is...CaNAHda."
"Ahh...Ca..na...da."
"Beg pardon, sir, but the word he used? I think it really means those houses down there, the village."
"No no, believe me, I know the word, it means nation and Canada is it's name."
*More dramatic music*
"But I'm sure it means the houses! The village!"
Or...
"Now the people will know we were here."
