So i've been here for awhile, and i have no clue what a Guard is. I also have seen people talking about a pit (i do know what that is). Because oviously not all bands have them (I can't think of a single marching band), could someone fill me in?

Guard adds visual to the band. We're dancers, basically. Though we use equipment such as flags, rifles and sabers. James Logan HSThese guys are my favorite ((for a damn good reason, too)).

no is aCHmed -CHHCHHCHH- And pit is all the instruments in front, like the xylophone, marimba, gong, etc. and heart heart heart COWBELL! heart heart heart

Pit uses gongs too biggrin We did Narnia his year and hadd a great set of instruments for pit.
Yes, Gaurd *sometimes called Colourguard or Flagline* are the people durring the performance not playing, usually with flags, riffles, sabers, air riffles, et cetera
