So, just to be active without doing too much yet...
I figured I'd start a topic.
I want to know..."What, at this very moment, is your favorite song and why?".
I know, it's kind of random.
But, I've been listening to this one song, which I will name and explain momentarily, and I just wondered if any of you guys did that?
You know, you hear a song and it kind of meshes with a relevant issue in the immediate present, and you end up listening to it over and over again? Maybe some of you find that annoying, but if not...
So, I just thought it would be interesting to see what you guys have on your minds; this also can provide the rest of us with some interesting new music to look into. Tell us what's your favorite song at the moment, and why!
If you don't feel like explaining why, then...just say so. I respect your right to privacy!
Moving on...
My current favorite song is "Think Twice" by Eve 6.
A friend of mine [[Spawn of Enmity, who has not introduced herself!]] and I are haphazardly writing a story together and our two main characters have specific elements; the male, Sky, is fire, and the female, Ely, is earth. I've been in a...sort of a reverse rut, drawing them constantly over the last few days because they're so captivating, and I keep finding songs to match up with them, and this evening, I heard this song for the first time in years!
And I found it ironic while listening to it because there are lines that say "Come around, I'll let you feel the burn...", and "She burns me out...".
So the mood of the song matched perfectly, and most of the words did, too. And so I've been listening to that song over and over and OVER again, all night. No joke.

For me right now, it's That Was Us by Alexz Johnson.
Actually, mine is because of a story too ^^
I'm writing a fan fiction with the Backstreet Boys, and the song explains the relationship in the story somewhat. Like the lyrics, "I never meant to waste your time," and "Times I could run away from you,", or, "I want to change, I'll try everything, "andd, "I wanted you so bad it nearly drove me mad."
So, yeah, the song fits very well with my fan fiction ._.'
I am also using other songs, two others by Alexz Johnson actually.. 2AM, and I Still Love You. And then I used Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls, I will use The Reason by Hoobstank, and some other songs I haven't decided yet.
The basic plot is a fan hooks up with Nick, and she's underage.. I'm trying to make it really good. So I mean, even if you don't like BSB I kind of made it where you don't really need to like them to read it. I mean yes, I do use songs of theirs[Love Will Keep You Up All Night, If You Want It To Be Good Girl(Find Yourself A Bad Boy), and Safest Place To Hide], and it'd help if you knew what they look like, but other then that..
Yeah, I'll ramble if I keep going. That's my favorite song for now >.>

Cool!
Not a huge fan of BSB, but I don't dislike them.
So, when you write and listen to these songs, do you incorporate some lyrics into the piece itself or no? Almost like a 'songfic', I suppose?
I'm just curious; my entry piece for Koiji Romansu had some lyrics in it, just to give it a more dramatic effect, but I dunno if other people do things like that; taking only some lyrics, that is. Not an entire song.
Hmm.

No, it's not like a songfic. I've done those before though.
They're songs I have the characters sing and dance to. Of course when the characters are singing the songs I have to put disclaimers up the wall but meh', it's worth it.
If you listen to the Alexz Johnson songs you hear how sad and emotional they sound, so I'm sure you can only guess how the story is >.>
It's not all sad and depressing but, well, being in love with a guy who's illegal to you, plus having him be uber famous, there will be some drama..
Anyways, no problem. I love talking about music and writing. Both are passions of mine.

At this very moment it's 7minutes of the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack Knockin' on Heaven's Door. The song is six minutes and forty-nine seconds long.
I literally write to music, so specific scenes of what I write has a song that goes along with it. This particular song goes to a stealth/fighting scene
It starts out slow (the woman breaking into the building by various means). The fast paced parts of the song accompany various acrobatics, hand to hand combat, or short shoot outs.
The second is Say (All I Need) By OneRublic on their album Dreaming Out Loud.
It's a very touching song and the written piece that does with it is about a hydrokinetic woman and dancer. She performs to the song while controlling the water that she dances on  ---------------- Now playing: Sandy Fox - Frecklesvia FoxyTunes

Sakashiro: I read a story similar to that once; it was actually a fanfic about Kagome and the lead singer of some real Asian band... But y'know, I don't remember how it went. ;-;
Kimzi OCD: Dude...I love Cowboy Bebop, and Knockin' on Heaven's Door, and OneRepublic. TTwTT I generally listen to music when I write, but sometimes it's just a distraction. But again, I usually need it. It makes me focus more, y'know? I've got a very short attention span, so if I can keep my attention still long enough to play the song over and over and write, too, then I can shell out a pretty decent reply or whatever's necessary. :3

Well, let's see...something that would fit with what's currently rounding about in my mind would perhaps be: Carry on My Wayward Sun, by Kansas. Had this going on in my head for the past long time, and it's still there now as I'm listening to it yet again on my MP3... With college well into the year now for me, I've got many things on my mind between the many groups I'm in, homework, exams coming up, friends, and my other free time; as well as work. I want to see through this "illusion," that may be clouding my vision from my ultimate goal, which I need to make up my damn mind about in the first place, and unscramble the thoughts that keep pounding the sides of my head and bouncing back. Need to "carry on" with my life as a more responsible adult and actually get my work done; stop being so lazy about things...yet here I am typing up this post whenever I could actually be doing homework and studying. Going to need some major rest after all of this is over, and stop crying over the spilled milk that happened in between everything; it's bound to happen and it's no use thinking too much about the past whenever the future is bright and tomorrow is a new day with new challenges...}

I was taking care of some college things, but for some reason I was like...Gaia...Koiji...why...? today, so, here I am xD. Thanks for the welcome back, and I don't think that you'd be dreaming :p. If you were, then I'd probably be some kind of bird...

Meenchi: Sounds interesting, but I'm not one for Inuyasha fics.. I tried to read one once, but it just didn't click.
I actually just started typing the ninth chapter to my fic today after like, two months.. My readers are going to yell at me again ;-;

Hawke: Oh, I love that song. We've got Guitar Hero with that on it and whenever we used to play (it doesn't work now) I sang along every time. Hahaha.
Oh, college... I just recently got an application for college, and I just finished filling it out. Dual majoring in English [teacher licensure] and Graphic Design with a minor in Japanese... I'm going to wear myself out, but... I wouldn't really have it any other way.
Sakashiro: I don't really care for them either. They annoy me to no end for many reasons.
I still haven't come up with an original story. I had this idea for one but I recently found out that it was almost exactly like 'A Walk to Remember'. I felt silly then, because I've wanted to read and watch that, but haven't had the chance to yet... But it's kind of cool to know that I had an idea that had actually been used and was supposedly good. Bahahaha. ^__^
So I'm just writing roleplays and research papers until something...profound comes along, I guess? :3
By the way... I heart Shuichi. :3

Ooo, I'm planning to minor in Japanese! Probably major in Journalism or Creative Writing.. I've got two years, well probably more like one, to think about it.
A Walk to Remember is amazing. Keith is another good movie with pretty much the same feel.
I've started a novel but have yet to really get working on it.. I'm focusing on my fanfic, roleplaying, school, and living life at the moment.
I heart Shuichi too! I've wanted to get a cosplay outfit for so long, and I still plan too, but for now I'll have my avi be him. x3

A couple friends of mine are going to a local anime convention in April and they're going as Shuichi and Yuki, and I'm gonna go as Ryuichi and I'm going to sing a duet with the Shuichi-girl to Sleepless Beauty. :3
And then for the talent contest they have, she's going as Hihara from La Corda D'Oro and I'm going to do Kahoko Hino [same story] and we're going to perform a duet of Gavotte; she'll play her trumpet and I'll play my violin.
It'll be amazing.
And we're off-topic now. ^__^;;

Just to experience one.
So to throw something ON-TOPIC out there...
My current obsession is now Breathe Me by Sia.
For the same story I mentioned before [[which you can read in RP area, called 'Caress of Insanity', though it's uber long]].
Spawn of Enmity and I are plotting out dramatic points of the story, and my character ends up with an escort of sorts who ends up tricking her into somewhat-dating him and he basically screws with her mind and stuff and when she starts realizing it after being driven to the brink of insanity, she starts coming back down, to that song.
It's like, the counterpart to my previous obsession. :3
