So last night my school band was playing a concert for our parents and whoever wanted to show up. I had a solo. So when I'm nervous, I usually bite things, but in band, I'm not normally nervous. But then my solo was coming up, and more fear built up that I accidentally snapped my reed and when my solo came, I let out a long squeak.
(I'm a clarinet, BTW)
The audience had a good chuckle, that's for sure. I hope my music teacher doesn't hate me.

i had a slip up like that
in 7th grade i had just bought new strings (bass guitar) so i was pretty confident thinking the other bassist eric would cover up anything i did wrong but when i got there he didnt show up and when the song started the string snapped(it hurt like a MO**********) and it let out a loud twang so we had to put the concert back 20 min while i re stringed it and tuned it and soon as i got back up the the cable (it was an electric bass)went bad some kid in the adiunce came up and messed woth stuff so it took all night because the rest of the band had to get stuff fixed and stuff and the chorus had to have me fix the EQ

I did that once. We were all gathering at the high school, combining with some of the other schools. Well, during my favorite piece, we were close to the end. The other snare drummer and I were playing perfectly. right after we stopped for rests, we heard a loud CRASH!!!! We glanced over--stupidly taking our eyes off the music--and saw that the crash cymbals had fallen over onto the hard theater floor. The percussionist in charge of them picked them up "quietly" (NOT!) and gave us an, "Oh crap!" look. We looked back in time to play. We screwed up the ending BADLY. It switched to 3/4 and we weren't prepared.

I play clarinet too. So we were at a festival for concert band and we were playing two songs in my band: Amazing Grace and a song called Hoosier suite. Out of four clarinets I was the only one on first for amazing and I was one of the two on first for hoosier. So, 1st part clarinet in amazing grace has a lot of melody with flutes, who play quietly and badly in my band, and so it was basiclly up to me to make it sound good.(Seriously. A lot of pressure for a freshman! Yeesh!) and...my clarinet stops working. I have to work extra hard to make it go as oud as piano0.0 I don't know what happened. So it sounded terrible. Then, the second movement of hoosier has a big and slow clarinet showcase thing. It is only clarinets playing for the first 17 measures. Funny thing is: That was the only part my clarinet wanted to play well. It stayed in tune for the first and only time that day, and I didn't have to blow very fast to make a sound. Te clinician, who was bd at my school before our current one apparently, even complimented the clarinets because of the hoosier part. At that point, my clarinet was being weird again...
Stupid Claribelle...
I don't mean it!XD
