My band director ... is annoying.

Today, we were getting permission forms for a trip we're taking next week. Yesterday he said, "I'll need those tomorrow..." (talking about the slips) and we said: "Um, we never got those."
He gives us this look that reads: 'guys i gave it to you...you're idiots'. so we get it TODAY...except for my section: percussion.
I raise my hand. "Um, we didn't get any forms."
Gives us the exact same look.
"So you weren't paying attention."
I feel surprised. "Yes we were," I said and he has one of the flutes hand back permission forms. she gives us 2 when there are 4 of us. one of the other percussionists says, "You only gave them 2 forms. We all need one."
Same look. "so all FOUR of you weren't paying attention."
Hands us forms...me = stressed

2: I was assigned a Timpani part. so our school is really REALLY crappy...we don't have any timpani mallets, so I search for one that I saw yesterday and use that. He stops the band and says, "You can't play the timpani with that."
me: "Um...we don't have ANY timpani mallets, so I figured..."
Cuts me off and says, "Where are yours?"
"I don't own any." I don't, seriously, I switched schools and they didn't have us get ANY timpani mallets >_>
"Did you get your EP2?"
"No...I haven't gotten it yet." EP2 is a fancy percussion bag with timpani mallets, bell mallets, sticks, etc.
Other player, "I can bring mine tomorrow and she can use those."
"Okay, until then don't play the timpani."
I lean over and ask our mallet player, "How much is the EP2?"
"I went by the music store and it was 160 dollars."
me: "HUH?!"
How can he expect us to get that? >_<
anyone else have similar problems?

I think my band director was PMSing today.
He was totally freaking out every time we played a section of the song.

Yea, my band director can be like that if we're the last class he has and we;re right after all the beginners and he gets so frustrated and starts yelling at all the ppl who are talking and stuff.
It's actually pretty funny if hes not pointing you out.

nooo... my band director is a d**k. >.>
ok. Sooo. scenario numero un. ------- my friends and I were in the cafeteria during band camp one day eating our lunch after the first 6 hours of nonstop FUNblock. [we all know and hate it.] we were just talking to each other and it so happens that we get a little loud. and the office lady calls him up says that we were being "loud, leaving trash everywhere and stuffing each other in trash cans." and I do quote that. and he comes barging in saying all this and accusing us of it without asking what we were really doing.

scenario numero deux.-------- This girl in my symphonic band who is a flute player [not that the instrument really matters BUT ANYWHO ] she's trying to read the sight reading piece that he had given out during class and she can't find where they are in the piece because he's not even giving ques as to where they are. @.@[idiot] and SO he goes and rips the music off her stand and [people always look for his approval because they dont want to be hated by him] she started to cry. He just kept on conducting the piece and letting this go on. So after class my friend Kaelin took the sign off of his wall that says "Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?" off on his wall and slams it on his music stand and leaves the room and goes to her next class. SHE IS MY NEW HERO. XDD lol.

among other things I just wanna take a picture and give it to him with the rest of the seniors and I where were all flipping him off. And on the end of the year video I just wanna say a big ol' "******** YOU b***h." to his damn ugly mug... <.<

sorry... I have a lot of anger held in over four years of this s**t. >.>;;

Ugh. Our director drives me up the wall sometimes.

I tend to talk at high-speed when I'm freaked out or stressed or in a hurry.
Which is nearly all the time in band. So...sometimes when I talk to him he doesn't get my point and answers my question but it's not what I asked and then I have to REPEAT MYSELF all the way over again >>

And then sometimes he refuses to help me with things. -_-
I swear, he's like my dad was cloned and stuck in a band director's body.

to make it simple my band director is a complete JACKASS!!!!!!!!!!!

-during a marching band practice he had made a good friend of mine cry and did not attempt to apologize

-our section leaders and captains tried to talk to him about practice for marching band(i do not know what was said because i am not a section leaders or captain)and the next day he nearly worked us to death...we did not get a break for water for a 2 hour practice and the winds had an hour long marching sectional after when we asked for water after the first two hours he told us that we would have to make up the time from the break

-over the entire marching season he had kept us 1-2 hours extra and he told us that we would get our time back and we are about to have our spring concert and he has only given us 5 minutes back

Hehe, these descriptions sound a lot like my horn teacher from last year. So as long as we're ranting about stupid band instructors, no one minds if I rant about a private teacher instead, right?

So my horn teacher last year is a jerk, an awful teacher, and a creep. He would cuss frequently throughout my lessons (not like it matters much - this is college - but I don't cuss and I'd expect my teachers to at least keep their cussing to a minimum, rather than throwing them out there at every opportunity). He would contradict himself often - he once gave us a lecture on being professional and how it related to LANGUAGE. Then, the next class, he said "We have no language boundaries here" and of course, he would cuss. As for actual teaching, he was terrible. I played about two pages worth of music that semester (as a performance major, I practice around 4 hours a day, and who in their right mind wants to play two pages for four hours a day all semester?). He would not answer a direct question, never played for me during lessons (which helps me understand how something should be played), and when I complained about him, started cutting our lessons down to about half the time he's paid for. In addition to all that, he made certain comments about my person which make me uncomfortable (I'm a young girl - he's a guy). Yes, that means what you think it means. And of course, the jerk told me I couldn't be a performance major and strongly hinted that I should switch to trombone. Needless to say, I put up with it for a semester before realizing he was the same way with all the horn players and that my previous instructor, who taught at a nearby, small university, was a heck of a lot better. So I transferred.

I find it absolutely hilarious that my band director's initials are PMS and they fit him perfectly blaugh
So I'm the one that actually does go home and practice from time to time yes? The player next to me does not. So we go into a sectional room and we play this part over and over again and for some reason I'm having a few issues, but she is too. It's AWFULLY hard to play when that big, mean, fat face is glaring at you the whole time D; Eventually he gets all poed and says to the OTHER girl "if you just went home and practiced, I think you'd have this" Then he turns to me and says, "I don't think you could get this if we were in here for three hours straight" And I'm like "WTFHUH?! emo " It was uncalled for and I did NOT go practice that night, because obviously it wasn't going to do me any good even if I was sitting in a practice room for three hours. SO SUCK IT.

in my class, we have a student band director and when he starts to conduct you can barely see and when he stops right after the band instructer goes nuts. daugh it makes me go nuts stressed and they go crazy over the chorales. we do them every single day and three more times that day and intervals and thirds in majors and minors.

p.s. if this doesn't sound serious i'm a freshmen tuba player.
