When his little sister Joli was born, their mother was thrown into an insane asylum where she killed herself. Tristam knew the truth behind all of these actions though. He was very insightful for a seven year old. His mother, Renee,'s father was a very wealthy man, and Renee was his only child. He had died the night before Joli was born. His father, Leonard, never spent time with his wife, thus he didn't have any idea that she was pregnant in the first place. Knowing that he was not the father of this child, he was intending to kill both Renee and the child, but Renee sent her children away before he had the chance. The night Joli was born, Renee commanded Tristam to take her and run away to Japan. She had acquaintances set up to meet them there, and she already had plain tickets ready for them. She also sent her whole fortune with him, as stated in her will. Leonard wanted that money, but in order to get it, he would need to kill his son, whom he had no idea where was now. Tristam raised Joli on his own in the estate their mother had set up for them, along with the help of many maids and servants. Fears: Tight places, and Joli getting hurt.
