Okay.... I have heard many of you talk about families that didn't understand, but did any of you grow in a Goth family? or have started their own Goth family?

I've seen goth families before.
All in black and gothied up, but then one of the kids will be dressed pretty normal/"preppy".
Kind of the opasite of the normal familes with a goth kid.
Found it interesting.

their oldest daughter Aimee distances herself from the rest of the family because she is "normal".

Found it interesting. That would be odd. I wouldn't like it much, but seems rather interesting, I wonder if that family would feel like a normal family with a goth kid?

My brother's not Goth but he is a metal head/skin head and has a daughter. I think the mother of his daughter was a goth way back but his daughter's 'normal' but reads books about Kiss and metal bands xD

That's a bit like the families I'm talking about.
For the record, I grew up in a Goth/metalhead family (except for my dad) I started being Goth at 10 I didn't know what it was but here I am. I have a metalhead sister and my mom is Goth.

havnt seen any goth familys for myself yet, but seen one in televison. We once had this program, with two familys who were changing dads or moms for a month. The two familys was allways way different from each other.
In this episode, they changed dads, and one the family's were sonsisting og a gothic dad, a gothic mom and a not-so-goth-but-more-preppy-like daughter who were allwyas wearing this pink shirt.
Later it turned out that one of my friends actually knew this guy personally.

None like that around here. My family's weird as my brother is a skater but listens to mostly hip hop, my mom like metallica and led zepplin bands like that but also listens to like pop and country, and then there's me the goth child. it's a bit...odd

And the Munsters! smile --- My dad's a repressed metalhead. For some reason, he decided that my mother was more important than all the Black Sabbath and Pantera in the world. I honestly can not see why he did that. My mother is...ugh. Don't even get me started. whee

I might have mentioned it before, in the Will You Dress Your Children Gothic thread, but there's a cute little goth family I saw at a pagan pride. I don't think I'll get the image of the son in his little suspenders and pinstriped vest and bowler hat walking alongside his elegant goth mother. So adorable!

I'm the only one in my family that's goth. My mom hates goths. But I'm gonna make some little gothlettes of my own one day. And I've seen a couple at the mall. They had their little girl in a pink dress, and they were amazingly goth. I stared in wonder and ecstasy. <3

I would want to see a goth family that looks goth (apart from the Addams) but there are no Goth families in my country. Even my family doesn't dress so Goth except when we go to events like weddings or.... funerals.
