I was in a bookstore the other day, and found a new book, Bite, that has a new Anita short story in it. Of course, me being the avid Anita fan that I am, immediately flipped to the first page, where it states 'This short story takes place between BLUE MOON and OBSIDIAN BUTTERFLY'. I haven't read it yet, but it appears to take place during Christmas. *suddenly pictures JC walking past a random nativity for no apparent reason blaugh *
Has anyone heard about or read this yet? No spoilers, please. sweatdrop

I just hit fangirl mode when I read that xd
Anyway, I just recently heard of Bite when one day I was bored in googled Laurell's name. I didn't know it included a new Anita story (since I was also feeling ADDish and didn't look up any info on it). I have always been curious as to what happened between the two books. Was an important moment in Anita's relationship history. Now I'll have to pick it up when I pick up Cravings.

omg! you're serious! Oh god...heh...now I gotta get to the closest library and see if they have it. If not...then I think I'll die! I need to read 'Bite'. But I never knew she had another short story out! (well the Cravings one wasn't really a short story, but just excerpts from ID)

The book itself is titled Bite. I'm not sure what Laurell's story is called. It also features stories from Charlaine Harris, Maryjanice Davidson, Angela Knight and Vickie Taylor from the cover details. Maybe searching for one of their names will help you.

Note to self; typing the right things into a Google search makes for much laughs. And this is actually related to the topic at hand. from http://www.angelasknights.com/ In January 2005, I'm going to be in another Berkley anthology, Bite, this time with Laurell K. Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, MaryJanice Davidson, and Vicky Taylor. When I learned I was going to be in a book with those ladies, I tangoed around the living room. I've been a LKH fan for at least 10 years, and I adore Charlaine's Sookie Stackhouse series. As for MaryJanice, I have never read a book of hers that didn't make me roll on the floor. And Vicky's Silhouette Intimate Moments have always been fantastic. You can see why I've been pinching myself a lot. If you've been here before, you'll find I've changed most of the artwork and excerpts, so there's plenty of new stuff to look at. Have fun clicking around. If you're new, I'll tell you what I tell my mother's friends: those who like their romances sweet and their heroes pure of heart are not going to like my stuff. My characters turn into wolves, have lots of great sex, bite people on the neck, have lots of great sex, pilot space ships, have lots of great sex, get into sword fights and have lots of great sex. Then they fall in love and have lots and lots of great sex. In other words, I do not have my hopes up for a stint on Oprah. By the way, if you find your teenaged daughter reading one of my books - take it away from her! xd

After that I want to read her part of Bite now xd Quote: By the way, if you find your teenaged daughter reading one of my books - take it away from her! And that just makes me think of all the times I thought about passing my younger sister an Anita book. I can't seem to make myself do it. So I found and purchased Bite yesterday and read the Anita story this morning. You're right, it's sooo short. Painfully so. Still it was a fun read and I wouldn't mind seeing more between the book sessions in the future.

Still it was a fun read and I wouldn't mind seeing more between the book sessions in the future. Is it short enough for someone with too much time on their hands to type out and post it up here? 'cause, chances are, I'll never see a copy of 'Bite' down here. *Gives best hopeful look*

Oh, u mean Bite? I saw it over and Barns and Nobel one day then when to schewlers bc I had a gift card there. Well, they did't have it so I was forced to buy the second Merry Gentry book. It's not Anita Blake, but it's stil Laurel K. Hamilton.

It's about 32 pages (not nearly as lengthy when typed in Word). I could probably type it up if I can get my sister to hold the book while I watch. Shouldn't take anytime since I'm used to it.
