i've bought my final carton of cigarettes. as soon as i smoke the last pack out of it, i'm done. i'm stocking up on nicotine patches and chewing gum. wish me luck. i'll be posting a daily log of my progress in my journal, and probably in the goals subforum.

Keep strong and don't give up if you "cheat" by having a smoke later on. I have seen many of my friends and work mates try to quit (and my Mum too). They all fell into the trap of thinking "Oh well, I've had one, so I might as well smoke the packet". It's sort of like being on a diet - don't give up if you have one (or more rolleyes ) slip-ups.
Good luck!

good luck, it´s quite hard to stop. i know that from my boyfriend, now he has a new sort of tabacco that makes him smoke less than before. i noticed that many from my friends who quit started to smoke when they were drunken. just don´t give up!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so happy for you, smoking is a nasty little habit. Plus, with cigarettes being so expensive now, you'll have quite a bit of extra cash! xd I wish you the best of luck!

i bought the carton on thursday, but i had two packs left in my previous carton. i'm not even halfway through the second pack, which is a huge accomplishment itself. i've been a pack and a half smoker for years, and to have 2 packs last me for four days is amazing. once this one is gone, i'll have ten packs left. hopefully i won't even finish them. thank you all for the kind words of encouragement so far.

Good Luck! The good news is, the nicotine and other chemicals should be out of your system somewhere between three days and a week if you quit cold-turkey ( where do we get that phrase anyway?) The hardest part will be the mental addiction. Get ready for some irritable days at first, but don't give up! We're all behind you! biggrin
