桜蘭高校ホスト部(クラブ)

Whether it's the anime or the manga, chances are you've heard this title before. Without giving away too much of the plot, the series follows the ups and downs of Haruhi Fujioka, a student at Ouran High School. The Ouran Host Club is a group of six extremely attractive male students named Mori, Hunny, Kaoru, Hikaru, Tamaki and Kyoya, who entertain female students for money. After making an expensive mistake, Haruhi ends up in debt to the host club. However, they have yet to uncover Haruhi's big secret.

Share your thoughts on this hilarious romcom.

I liked the anime, but I couldn't get into the manga.

NEKOZAWA FTW!!! /o/

I actually preferred Hatori's first creation more, Millenium Snow.

I have eight volumes of the manga and I love it to pieces. <3 I'm considering starting the anime when it become available.

Read all the manga up til now, watched all the eps subbed, and am eagerly waiting to see what they make of the English dub come October. I'm usually a shonen-lovin' chick, but I've got a secret romantic soft spot the size of the Grand Canyon, so any well-written lovey stuff sucks me right in. Ouran definitely has that, plus it's really funny, and it pokes fun at the usual shoujo cliches as often as it can.

Haruhi's attitude towards sexuality is the most interesting thing about it, IMHO. I love how different she is from the usual girly-girl heroine.

I have seen what lurks beyond the door of death...

I've only just recently started, although I've heard plenty about it. So far, I'm enjoying it. My favorite characters would have to be the twins, Kaoru and Hikaru. They're so cute, and they make me laugh.

...but I have not seen what lurks beyond the door of life.

I usually hate most shojo manga, but I love Ouran. I love how it's kind of a mickey-take of stereotypical shojo manga.
It's getting really good lately, too, if you read the scanlations (I'll still buy the books when they come available!). Really quite emotional.

Yeah, the comedy side definitely makes it more likeable for people who tend not to enjoy shōjo. My little brother hates shōjo, yet he seems to LOVE Ouran.

I love Ouran High School Host Club!
I think Tamaki and the Hiitachin twins are so cool.
I like the manga better than the anime because they rushed the plot to the anime and just forced an ending to the series early because the manga isn't finished yet.
In the manga the love story is played out more smoothly and is more excting. The style of drawing took some getting used to...I like the way the anime looks better.

It's probably opening a can of worms to ask, but the discussion's pretty cooled down, so... what do people think of Funimation getting the dubbing rights for the DVD? Or the fact that the English cast is mostly an FMA reunion?

I'm personally not gonna pass judgment til I've seen it, but I'm glad it'll be in English in some form. I haven't watched the anime in a long time, so it'll be like it's new for me.

I personally can't wait for the English DVDs to come out so I can purchase them (someday D: ). If the dub is bad, then so be it, I'll watch the Japanese track, though I don't think Vic is as horrible as some people make him out to be (mind you I don't think he's the best either.) Don't kill me Vic haters D: I just hate it when people all gang up on some thing/one and hate the living daylights out of it/them.

Moving on from my scandelous opinion of Vic (notice the sarcasm):

I prefer the anime to the manga, honestly. >_>;
1- It's already ended
2- The art is absolutely adorable.
3- The art for the manga makes me twitch.
4- The story isn't as long as the manga's.

Yeah, there's my reasons >_>;
