It's unfortunate that one of them has to win. I don't like either. I don't think McCain will be good for our country, and not to sound mean but, America is not ready for a black president. There's still too much racism here for that to happen here.

Yeah I have this bad feeling that Obama will win, but will get shot by some crazy redneck(hired by Hillary)....

Thats what everyone is saying! Everyone in my family wants Mccain to win and so do I. But i am sorry to say that Obama will probably win..... and then get shot by some crazed republican who cant stand Obama or something. I cannot stand Obama! Many people just want him to win cause he's black. So then he'd be the first black presidant. And you know many of the black people will just think "OMG, finally a black representitive. Lets vote for him and make him presidant." That really is giving him a big lead!

If McCain wins, I'll be disappointed by America's decision. I do not like him. Not at all, and I'm a republican. Obama would be better for the country, but I don't want him to win simply because I know that we're far from ready for that kind of change. I'm not going to enjoy the next four years with our new president, which ever one it is.

I hope Obama wins, it's time to get out of a rut in America.....he may be just more appealing over all and mccain is stuck in an old frame of mine and to have more of a Bush thinking may not get anywhere .......my thought on the running...watch the conventions....

I'm voting McCain! 3nodding

Obama seems to try too hard to please everyone and phrase everything so cautiously and it makes him too fake for my liking. Besides, he's just as white as he is black (he's got a white parent) but rather than using that to help unify both sides of the racial coin, he seems to be playing the race card. I find that kind of sad. Oh, and he picks a running mate who has been known to suffer from foot-in-mouth disease. I have no faith in Obama's choices, so I won't be casting a vote his way.

Obama is the candidate who believes that necessary changes must be made so that people don't starve while trying to pay their healthcare and heat, so that education can be restored to pre-Bush levels and improved, so that corporations remain responsible to the people through paying healthcare and social security, and who will set the economy back on track by preventing another housing crisis and supporting those unfortunate enough to be thrust out of the middle class by this crisis until they get back on their feet. McCain does not.

In terms of "playing the race card," isn't McCain playing the age-card against him, a founded belief before Obama picked his VP candidate, but not after.

And yes, Biden does have a case of "foot-in-mouth disease," but McCain has a case of "I believe in methods that don't work and have been proven not to work time and time again since, oh, Hoover". Correct me if I'm wrong but POUR (early 1930s) brought America further into the Great Depression, didn't it?

This is still a presidential race, last I checked, which means it is based on issues as well. Obama is a lot closer to Clinton in the issues he is championing than McCain is. So if you're going to hold the grudge that he beat out Clinton, I must ask you, what do you think about the numerous issues they do agree on, if not in the minutiae then at least in general?

CLINTON?!? Why the freak would I EVER want to vote for her? That would be horrible and it is an insult to insinuate I would hold a grudge that she is out of the running. At least Obamarama is a bit more tolerable than Clinton, and he has a much more interesting name. I can call him fun things like Yak-A-Rama!

Oh, a the issues that the Dems are focusing on don't really matter much to me. I'm Republican. So of course McCain is my candidate. We both love money and realize that it is the answer to solving political problems. Which is why business is going to be part of the solution...even the the problems that the Dems are hyped up on solving. Hence why I vote Republican.

Seriously, none of these issues will get resolved without money, and pandering to the middle class and poor will not solve anything. Scare away the rich and the big companies and you lose the money that they would otherwise put back into the economy. Tax breaks make it easier to woo the givers of money, not tax hikes...that makes them start investing overseas instead of locally. Tax hikes only yield so much and then the companies hit with the hikes are less willing to allot other funds to benefit this nation because they instead need it to place in forgien investments to recoup what they lost to this government. Hence fewer donations to schools and charities. Yes, they only do it for image building, but it still helps a great deal and is better alloted when the government isn't meddling with the money dispersal. A large sum helps build computer labs and acquires more up to date learning tools and finance scholarships better than a small subsidized sum that barely even purchases new textbooks (if that). And that's just one example...of course many Dems don't want to think that way about big businesses because it kills the whole "big business is bad" image, and Republicans don't want to admit that they worry about some of the same things as the Dems because it makes them look soft or something. Obama may dream big, but I don't think he'll pull enough clout to make the changes he's promising even with the title of President. McCain can...and if he gets the presidency he might even achieve some of the things Obama stands for because it would be good to make some changes to better this nation, and McCain knows that. He's just not going to make the promises Obama makes because McCain is Republican and it just wouldn't look right...yet. Their are a lot of young Republicans who will someday make it OK for Republicans to solve the Dems issues and even promise to do so...as time passes, there will be a change in how Republicans are view. But for now, I rather enjoy reveling in being part of the so called "Dark Side" of politics. It is fun to know we can manipulate big business to do our bidding without them fully realizing that we know what we are doing. Hell, even my patients haven't figured out that they succumb to me, I do not succumb to their complaints.

Now if Obama (almost typed Osama...he really should spell that a little differently sweatdrop ) were to think a little more craftily, I'd think he'd be great and would be better able to resolve the issues he's addressing. But his not, and he may inspire the poor and those who thought there was no hope...but they are not the ones that generally succeed in making the lofty changes that they lust for. The rich and powerful are the ones to do that. So if Obama gets in, I fear at least another 4 years of only minimal changes. At least his idea of change is good, he just isn't very likely to actually achieve it with his methods. He just isn't crafty or cunning enough to find little tricks to make big companies willingly open their pockets and give more than than tax hikes would yield...though maybe he'll learn...maybe.

People claim McCain will be just like Bush because he is another Republican and Republicans hold such similar views, but McCain wants to make changes as well. I like his ideas better, and he has the experience to make the changes he seeks. I'd rather go with a candidate with better odds of pulling through rather than a lofty dreamer. I'm a realist not an optimist. I'd also want a candidate who picks a running mate who is less likely to clash with his ideals or put his foot in his mouth regularly. Sometimes I think Obama doesn't realize his running mate could make us look even more pathetic in the eyes of the world. Its already bad enough that Obama is such a suck up. Though I love that Obama actually used the exact same "magic wand" analogy as Bush did...almost verbatim. It made me laugh when I heard that.

Anyway, I know Obama is really popular with young people. All that really matters is who is more popular with those of us actually old enough to vote. Since a lot of young voters actually don't vote in large number, and the older voters do, it will be interesting. I'm voting McCain, and I hope Romney is named as his running mate. That would be a threat to Obama and his running mate.

Well I think we can all agree that either Obama or McCain would make a much better president then Bush, that is if Bush is willing to even let go of his seat lol.

OBAMA/BIDEN FTW!!! mrgreen

Seriously, though, I DO think that Obama has a very good chance of winning. McCain just keeps making too many missteps.

Yes, yes.

Ooh....I like McCain's running mate. Sarah Palin is freakin' cool for a politician! She's a bit of a rebel. I like her!

I bet Hillary is seething now, lol. Palin is way cooler than Hillary. And she doesn't look manish like Hillary...no wonder Bill strayed. rolleyes

I like that Alaskan bumper sticker for Palin : "Coldest State, Hottest Gov". And she's got brains and power. She's going to be interesting to watch. I want to see how she handles Yak-A_Rama and Biden-His-Time in upcoming debates...though she'll see less of Obama than his lackey I'm sure.

Now it doesn't matter which candidate wins for the "novelty first", both parties will have a major historical first...either a black President or a female VP, both are major firsts for a changing America.

I would say that anybody would make a better president than Bush, but something tells me that he is going to pull some stupid stunt to mess up the election so that he can hold the presidency for another four years. If he doesn't that will surprise me!

Personally, I would prefer for Obama to win. While I don't agree with ALL his plans, I agree with him a hell of a lot more than I agree with McCain. Unfortunately... I can't vote. This is actually the first election I really wish I could vote in since I really want Obama to win. On the bright side, even if McCain wins, we'll still be rid of Bush and so that's a huge plus. I'm looking at the bright side here, we are rid of Bush at the end of the year and that makes for a happy me.

@Fantasy yeah there's absolutely no stunt he can pull. Presidents can only serve for two terms and that's it. It's impossible for him to try and serve another term.
