I have three cats, two of which have been with me for about a year and a half, and one that I've had for 14 years. Recently one of them, I don't know which but I think it's one of the two males, has taken up the habit of peeing around the house. Luckily I have wood floors in my room so it didn't bother me too much until he started peeing on my instruments. It's not just my room either, he's doing it in all four bedrooms but not in the downstairs rooms. Any advice on how to get him to stop?

--another thing I've noticed is it doesn't smell horrible like cat pee normally does. I don't usually notice that the cat urinated in my room until I step in it or notice dust sticking to the floor. Any ideas on why that is?

Are they neutered?
It's probably spray. It has a different smell from regular pee.
Also, have you recently moved or changed his litter box? If my cats experience any slight change they'll refuse to pee in the box, but they'll poop.

When I put it back the way it was before, they returned to peeing in it.

It could also be that he's hurting/ has crystals.
If it hurts to pee in the litter box, they'll recognize it as a source of pain and try different places.
If everything else is ruled out but that, I'd take them to see the vet, and put them on filtered water.

They have three litterboxes throughout the house, none of them have been moved. All of them have been fixed and all of them seem to use the litterboxes as normal.

I love my cats but I hate cleaning cat pee. There were three places I found in my room last night alone.

Oh yeah, my male cat sprays everywhere in my house. It gets pretty gross and annoying. I punish him by throwing him outside and leaving him outside whenever he does that.

Overall, it's pretty normal for the males to usually "mark their teritory," just as they do outdoors, xD
