Character Name: Alexander M. Gray
Nicknames or Aliases: Alex; Fenrir
Race: Human
Physical Appearance: The first thing one might notice about Alex is his golden eyes. He has tanned skin and his hairstyle is shaggy, with a dark brown, almost black color. His ears are pointed, like a dog’s and are covered in black fur. His face is often chiseled with alertness and he hardly lets his guard down. Alex has a lean muscular body that stands a little under six foot. He is quite agile from running and escaping from Par’s forces. He wears a black trench coat and black pants along with sunglasses and bulky black DJ headphones.
Personality: Alex has a quiet and serious personality. He tends to speak only when spoken to and even then he acts as if it is an order. Despite his personality, he never gives orders, only suggestions. He doesn't think he has the expertise to command or direct people into battle. He hardly thinks about anything other then battle and his idea of casual talking is discussing possible battle tactics.
Known History: Alex was the youngest of three kids, but in no way was he dependent on others. His mother and father were killed when Par first when into power. After that his siblings took care of him, but then had to resort to stealing. When they were killed by Par's force, Alex had to learn how to live on his own.
Other things known about is that Alex is twenty-six years old, he has genetic modifications of a wolf, given him his unusual eyes and ears, and he learned free-running in order to help him escape from Par's forces many times.
Reason for Joining The Resistance: Alex wanted to stop the madness that Par enforced. His older brother and sister were killed because they had to steal for food. Alex witnessed their murders firsthand. After that moment he turned toward anything that could stop Par.
He have heard rumors of the Resistance and spent years looking for them. When he did found them, he spent all of his time working in any way possible. He was always following orders to the letter, waiting for his chance. He even got genetic modifications done on him to help in the future. He worked for a year before he heard of the violent core of the resistance.
He is now currently waiting for his first taste of battle.
Powers & Abilities: His eyes allow him almost perfect night vision and his ears are supersensitive. He is much stronger then he looks thanks to genetic modifications of a wolf. He can easily carry a rocket launcher along with extra ammo by himself and can withstand the kickback of the rocket launcher. He has advance experience with rocket launchers and heavy artillery. He also learned free-running in order to help him escape from Par's forces.
Vices & Hindrances: Both his eyes and ears are really sensitive, so he takes precautions to avoid hurting himself. Alex wears sunglasses and doesn't take them off unless there is no light or very dim lighting. He wears old DJ headphones to muffle gunfire and other loud sounds. Despite his expertise with heavy artillery, he is no good in a physical fist fight. He could take hits, but he isn't good enough to fight back others with his hands. His anger tends to be an issue when it does come up, liquor turns him into a fool, and he is usually nervous around females, especially attractive ones.

Character Name: Alec Durnham
Nicknames or Aliases: Doc or Doctor
Race: Human with the genetic disorder of chimerism. Chimerism is when a person has two sets of DNA. Note chimerism is an actual genetic disorder.
Physical Appearance: He has short black hair that falls just over the nape of his neck. He keeps his bangs parted in the midle. His eyes are blue but are often descirbed as being icy. With medium hight he doesn't stick out in a crowd. His looks aren't classicaly handsome but not unpleasing either. He is often smiling but the smile is more more predatory than kind. Unlike some people afflicted with chimerism there are no physical traits which give away his disorder. He wears an old black over coat that goes down to his boots. The coat is a bit worn but he still wears it as it was the only thing that he ever got from his family that he still has. He claims it's to remember how much he hated them and that he left with only the coat on his back. In truth he wears it because its naustalgic and has a few pleasant memories. He uaually wears a white shirt underneath meticuously pressed and ironed. With black pants completeing his drab ensamble he can pass almost anywhere as part of the crowd.
Personality: His personaltiy is cold and standoffish towards those he looks down upon. To those he respects he is polite and respectful. To those he views as the same he is polite but more relaxed. He changes his personality based on who he is talking to. If more then one person is present he will usually present the face which best suits the group as a whole. He keeps to himself and forms no close attachments. To him the only thing that matters is himself. There is no one he fears out right because he has enough confidence that he can hold his own against most opponents. He enjoys fighting and often becomes drunk on the euphoria of death and pure adreniline. That is the only time he shows his true nature without wearing a mask. He has very little loyalty to any person or ideal as in the end he only cares about one thing. He can be passionate but always keeps it hidden. He likes being aloft and separate from others.
Known History: Born to a family of afluent doctors he was the black sheep. Most of his family have the ability to channel life allowing them to heal someone from another persons life force. He had no magical skills and was expected to amount to nothing. However he continued studying medicine and became a fairly sucessful doctor despite having to rely on mundane methods. This caused a huge split with his family leaving them completely separate. He had no contact with his family for many years after he became a doctor. His family was elininated early on by Par due to their magical abilities. Since he wasn't directly conected with them any more he wasn't killed imediatly. Due to his close blood relationship he was considered for execution, but was ignored because his DNA held none of the magical genetic markers. Alec currently lives a fairly good life fully supporting Par by treating the middle to high class people in his clinic. His clinic is fairly large and He has no close friends no known afiliations with any disident group. He reguarly attended rallys for the government to show his support. Recently he dropped out of sight for unknown reasons.
Reason for Joining the Resistance: Alec despised his family and as such isn't out for revenge. Instead his reason is that he recently discouvered that he could channel. Upon invesigation he found that the DNA in his hands didn't match the DNA in his arms. The DNA in his hands has the genetic markers for channeling. The only reason that the government didn't find out was because most of his body has DNA without these markers. By joining the resistance it will let him kill those that would hunt him. He respects the resistance and knows the only way to ensure his survival is to support it. He doesn't care about Jenna as person only that she treat him with respect. The resistance also holds no more meaning then a means to keep himself safe. As long as the resistance stands chance of toppling Par he will support it. Alec hates the thought of being hunted and would rather be the hunter.
Powers & Abilties: The ability to channel is the only magical ability he posesses. With his right hand he can drain life from any living source. With his left hand he can send life to another source including himself. Also certain cells in his body posses the same ability as his hands which alows him to heal himself from another persons energy. His power is automatic when it conserns himself as he has no control over individual cells. But it takes mental effort to drain or heal another. He is also a skilled martial artist relying on daggers to get him close to his opponent.
Vices & Hindrances: When absorbing energy it has to go somewhere. Unless he can imediatly use the energy to heal himself or another it begins to burn through his body leading to pain and death unless it has a source to heal. His right hand is the only part of his body that he has found that can absorb energy. Without his right hand he can't heal himself quickly, and all healing energy has to come directly from him. Because only parts of his body have the genetic characteristics to use channeling he has to invest a lot of energy from himself to heal another. This is because he has to move the energy through his body regardless of the source. Also he can't heal something from nothing. Old scars are impossible to heal and genetic disorders are also impossible. Also if the person has lost an entire limb it might not be possible to regrow a new one. This is because for the new limb to grow it has to take the building blocks from the rest of the body. Depending on the size of the limb this might be impossible as it would start breaking down the entire body inorder to gain enough matter to do so. Also when he is healing another it takes mental concentration leaving him defencless while healing.

Mundane: Majin Cammy
Character Name: Morgan Bowen
Nicknames or Aliases: None
Race: Human
Physical Appearance: Dark red hair which is short and normally messy. She has bright green eyes and a few freckles on her cheeks. Short (though she prefers "compact"), curvy, and well-toned from the physical work of repairing and tinkering with machines and from enjoying all types of physical activities. She's almost always seen in a pair of blue overalls which have random patches advertising various mechanical products layered about them. She's usually stained with grease and and has random blotches of bubble gum stuck on her overalls as well.
Personality: She is one to get lost in her work and is rather long winded when explaining things, often going into technical details when they are obviously not necessary. She's brash, outgoing and loves to drink and watch any type of sporting event. She is rarely seen without her protective goggles or without chewing bubble gum (which she seems to have a never ending supply of).
Known History: The youngest and only daughter to a man well versed in mechanical engineering. Her father had six sons before she was born and her mother was killed in childbirth. She was raised as a son and fought fiercely with her brothers for respect. She loves sports and took after her father, learning mechanical engineering. She loves working on weapons and vehicles and took over the "family business" when her father was killed by the government for reasons she was never told. Her brothers are all scouts and spies working for the resistance, but she rarely sees them.
Reason for Joining The Resistance: Her family has been working with the resistance and she does agree with most of their stances, so she chooses to stay and fight and honor her family.
Powers & Abilities: Her goggles enable her to see heat sources, long distances and in complete darkness. The most special power, however, that the goggles give her is electromagnetic vision, which permits her to see the underlying circuitry of things, helping her to fix or break mechanical objects as she sees fit. She has a pair of mechanical gloves which she calls the "Swiss Army Gloves" because they work much like a Swiss Army knife. Some of the functions the gloves have are the ability to conduct electricity, blades which thrust out from a secret compartment, a welding torch, and a stopwatch. She also has a pair of matching boots which have a few different abilities as well. Although she hasn't been able to figure out to maintain flight, the boots have a boost which enable her to jump very high and far and they are also magnetized (they will stick to anything metal and she can reverse the polarity to be released from the hold as well), which help her to work on large structures and they also have a hover feature. The gloves have a fingerprint reader on the tip of each finger and will automatically stun a person who attempts to wear them, other than the owner and the boots have a similar feature.
Vices & Hindrances: She suffers from Iatrophobia (which is the fear of going to the doctor or doctors). If she is injured, she will do everything in her power to not go to a doctor for medical help. She developed this fear in her childhood, when she learned that her mother died during childbirth and her father blamed the doctors for losing her. She's very brash and ends up putting her foot in her mouth more often than she'd like to admit.
Death: Very dependent on the story.

Character Name: Lorelai S. Vance
Nicknames or Aliases: Goes by a number of aliases when outside Resistance strongholds, seldom using the same name twice. Each of the names she uses belongs to a now-deceased citizen who was needlessly executed by the new government. She often signs correspondence and Resistance-related writings as "Speaker for the Dead" in reference to this.
Race: Human
Physical Appearance: A slender woman ever so slightly on the tall side, Lorelai has a certain languid and long-limbed elegance, like some regal predator, and an easy charm visible in her everpresent subtle smile. Her ash-blonde hair is generally either pulled back into a loose mid-back-length ponytail leaving her bangs free, or untied and left to its own wavy devices. Her blue eyes seem a touch too vibrant for her pale skin, but their piercing gaze fits well enough with her ageless face, youthful but not young, worldly but far from old. She is as evasive regarding her age as any other concrete facts about her past, but fair guesses or clever sleuthing would indicate mid-twenties.

Lorelai dresses for comfort but also for style, preferring loose long-sleeved blouses, fitted pants, stylish longcoats, low boots and tight gloves, most often in black and white accented with gold. Their cut is frequently asymmetrical, a quiet nod to her roguish nature... or perhaps just momentary whimsy. Ice-blue or charcoal-purple lipstick completes the look, further highlighting the ethereal quality of her pale skin and fair hair.
Personality: Lorelai displays a clear mind and a vast capacity for cold, calculating logic -- explain a mission to her and she'll tell you the most efficient solution and the point at which you become expendable before you even finish speaking -- but tempers both with a jovial bearing and devil-may-care attitude the rest of the time, seeming at turns both bookish and rakish. She delights in playing the trickster in idle moments, and more than one new recruit has been sent to fetch a "Klein Bottle" or some other fanciful, imaginary tool as a favor. A true lover of challenges, longshot gambles, and intricate puzzles, in no small part because she takes such pleasure in crafting them herself. Despite her occasional callousness, she has a remarkable soft spot for her ideological brethren, and a somber sense of responsibility that rarely sees light in public. A deeply romantic and idealistic dreamer at heart, she uses her easygoing attitude to keep people close but not too close, knowing full well the vulnerability inherent in sharing her innermost thoughts and feelings.
Known History: Remarkably little is known of Lorelai's past given how much she knows of others, and the stories of it she tells intentionally conflict with each other, expressions of disbelief being met with a wry grin and chastising wave of her finger. The truth, known to the Resistance's leadership and anyone dedicated enough to find the real answer, is that Lorelai was once in the employ of Par's new government, a low-end file clerk or some other menial task. Details beyond that are unclear; what is known is that Lorelai's curiosity eventually brought her to research all those who had died -- who had been murdered -- since Par came to power, and what had been simply a looming disillusionment grew quickly into shock and disgust. In the first of her many elaborate clockwork ruses, she launched the investigation that would eventually uncover her own treason and call for her quiet execution by a knife in the night. In truth the death was staged, the treason faked and the investigation imaginary, and a number of Par's least perceptive spent several weeks chasing their own tails while Lorelai escaped to begin life anew with the Resistance, using the disruption she orchestrated as proof of her worth and a bargaining chip for their trust.

It wasn't as easy as that, of course, and Lorelai spent several years working with the Resistance under close scrutiny from the powers that be before she was truly accepted into their ranks, but as always, the story she paints of it is different and more fanciful every time. She is strongly suspected of having larger plans than she lets on, particularly by those smart enough to notice how she works, but clearly betrayal is not among those plans, or the few higher-ups who know the truth would never have allowed her into the organization proper.

Lorelai speaks only rarely of her family, providing no certainty of whether they are even still alive, but she seems to have at least one sibling living anonymously among the populace, unaware of her actions (for their own safety, though she wouldn't admit it). Her bearing and taste in fineries suggest she is of noble descent, but she dismisses such claims as either jealousy or undeserved praise, and quickly diverts the topic to something else. She once let slip that she lost two close relatives to the government's magic-hunting squads, but any further inquiry since has been met only with silence and a wistful, lonely stare.
Reason for Joining The Resistance: Generally gives whatever answer would provoke an amusing or interesting reaction from the asker, which frequently means something flippant like (her favorite) "Because it looked like fun." The truth, of course, is a lengthy list deeply rooted in her history, beginning with the new government's violation of her sense of justice and philosophical reverence for human life, including such things as her wish for a better world for those who come after, and concluding with "Because it looked like fun." Again.
Powers & Abilties: Lorelai's greatest weapon is her mind; a tactical genius and expert player of complex mindgames, she is well-read (must be all those books she "liberates" from Par's storehouses of confiscated subversive material) and well-versed, at least in extensive theory, in nearly every form of conflict known to man and every form of science known to nature. She reads people and social situations as readily as battlefields and laboratories, and hones her trickster side to deadly serious manipulation at a moment's notice. When pressed she proves an agile target and devastatingly precise striker, having already observed all offensive and defensive options in the split-second before engaging, preferring flat and easily concealable knives for efficiency, and long elegant blades or two identical long-barreled sidearms for style and intimidation.

Learning of her talent for the more destructive side of sorcery only after her two aforementioned relatives were executed for the same, Lorelai prefers to hold magic in reserve as a weapon of last resort. In the end, however, she treats it as any tool, to be used when needed... though she does occasionally let the simple, playful glee of wanton mayhem get the better of her, and she thoroughly appreciates the value of a show of mystical force majeure as a means of coercion when more traditional methods might fail.
Vices & Hindrances: Lorelai's weaknesses flow naturally from her strengths. She is a compulsive gambler, both in the literal sense of gaming and the more dangerous sense of lives on the line, and she has been known to callously treat even close friends as something between chess pieces in a vast, labyrinthine scheme, and human poker chips to be wagered on a seeming whim. She seldom sees fit to explain herself, and her candidness is generally inverse to the complexity of her plans.
Death: A wise gambler never calls something "impossible".

I think I got a couple more profiles that should be ready in the next couple days. If any of you wants to use a specific color, I can color your profile. I don't really mind if everyone is black, I just wanted to give the option.

EDIT: Everyone's profile is up. I will do my "starter" post later today. I need to collect my creative juices to make sure I am ready to role-play all four of my peeps.

One more note: Neither Judge nor Sebudai live at the base (understandably consider their double agent sort of lives) and both Jenna and W'turnia DO live at the base on the 2nd floor of the basement.

Character Name: Kimberly Rose Harbourne

Nicknames or Aliases: Kimma

Race: Human

Physical Appearance: User Image
Kimma has always been coy about her looks, often worried about how thin she is. However, due to some work, she built up muscle around her arms and tummy, and she felt that she was beginning to look more natural – although she is still more than averagely skinny. Of all of her, her favourite assets are her eyes, hair and smile. Her eyes area a smouldering umber, an orangey red, whilst her hair floats in soft waves half way down her back in a light brown.

Her clothing usually consists of a simple light baggy top with long sleeves – but fitted cuffs – and a pair of tight black trousers, often with a pair of big dark, scuffed boots over the top. Most of the time, she dons a leather jacket over the top of it. All her clothes, however, are in good quality, hard-wearing but soft fabric.

Personality: Kimma’s general personality is usually quite a positive one – trying to laugh and smile as much as possible. She loves making people laugh and does it as often as possible, unless severity is needed. In those situations, she knows how important it is to stay serous, and so can come over quite cold and ruthless. However, when she goes to have a drink, she has a tendency to have more than she should and so only drinks in solitary. There are moments – few and far between – when Kimma becomes rueful, and seems somewhat unlike herself, and it can take from a small gesture to a large one to get her to return to her regular state. She sports a wicked sense of humour, and a contagious laugh to match her contagious smile.

Known History: Although Kimma is reluctant to give out such information, she reveals small nuggets of her past. Recalling all of this in minor details to anyone who manages to get her to tell them, she only tells people if she is sure of their unswerving loyalty to The Resistance. Such things are known as she was born in a kitchen in one of the more meagre houses around town – as she refers to the slums – to a family with no importance or out-of-the-ordinary traits whatsoever. At the age of 16, she was a bit of a rebel, and discovered some powers of hers [more of that in P&A]. She took to using them, as a rebellious teenager, more often than should be used, and ended up getting in a lot of trouble. Her mother – her father died when she was very young – became exceedingly worried about her; the power was one of which the faction of Par (as it was then) disliked and she feared for her child. When Par came into power, Kimma can remember her mother begging her in tears to be more careful about herself. Touched, Kimma sought to never use them unless warranted. However, when the revolution spread to the section of the slums she and her mother lived in, her mother was beaten and taken away by raucous men and Kimma felt an anger such as she had never felt. She killed the men, using her powers and the newfound rage, and then immediately went into hiding.

Reason for Joining The Resistance: She needed a place to stay and hide from Par’s agents, and heard about them. With a heart of stealth and speed, she sought them out and found them. During those few months, she trained and started to master her power, feeling it grow. She has often thought how strange it is that she feels more secure in a place where violence is accepted than a place where it is prohibited.

Powers & Abilities: She has complete control over fire – including the recreation of it. She is more than averagely lithe, and can run faster than most. The last two abilities have been worked on and developed due to escaping from Par’s men, and so give rise to her high chances of both escape and hiding.

Vices & Hindrances: She is absolutely terrified of large amounts of water – a glass she has no problem with – especially large amounts of water with a current. If she sees one, she tries to overcome her fear but it often shows on her face. She also has a tendency to snap under cold – if she gets too cold she becomes irritable, but also will break more easily under pressure if she is too cold. This makes her a liability in some cases, but she strives to wear enough clothes to keep her warm. Due to her ability to hide, she can also be incredibly hard to find in a crowd if a rendezvous is required.

Death: Not if she can help it (that’s a no).

He humbly took a seat furthest away from the leaders of the room. He sat tall and stiffen his back. He pulled off his headphone and his black dog ears unfolded out of them, picking up a new level of sound from the room. He could hear rats scratching movements through the walls and it picked up on everyone's heartbeats. His face showed a look of calmness, but inside he was nervous. This is my first meeting here. I wonder what her majesty will have for me to do?

On the subject of vocabulary in general, I use http://thesaurus.reference.com/ to help me. I have a propensity for using the same word over and over again, so I use this to "cheat." Just make sure you double-check with the dictionary if you aren't familiar with the word to make sure you can use it in the same context.

On length: I like to split major actions into different paragraphs. For example, in this post Alex is doing a few important things. There are lots of ways to split it up, but for starters I'd split up walking to the strategy room and sitting down. It'd look something like this:

Now you can see where you have more detail, too. You expound on him sitting down (he takes off his headphones, hears heartbeats, and has nervous thoughts). You could go into more detail here if you like, but let's focus on his walking paragraph. What is he thinking? Is he trying not to think because he's focused on getting there? What is he wearing? If he has a long coat on, it could be trailing behind him. Go wild. I know you are creative, so don't hold back. =) I love how fast you post!
