Become friends with him first. Hopefully you two have some things in common and maybe he will like you. Worked for me.

*sends mighty hug of sympathy* I feel your pain! crying
1. Figure out his name. Even if it involves blackmail, torture, ect. There's no worse first impression than using the wrong name.
2. DO. NOT. CHANGE. YOURSELF! Cliche, but changing yourself for a guy really hurts. Personal experience there.
3. Like Kirei said, get to know him, maybe become friends if you can. I don't know if this works, but it sounds viable.
Good luck! *sends heart-shaped luck* heart heart

I've definitely been in a similar situation...
Try to get to know him. You can go a little out of your way to talk to him. Try to stay relaxed when you're around him. Good luck!

Just work on taking deep breaths. Do your best to relax, and talking to him will be easier...
But at least your situation is better than mine! >.<
I have crushes on three different kids. All three are in band All three will be in my band class next year
There are two trombones (call them #1 and #2 for now), and one trumpet:
Trombone #1 = in my grade, in my section, best friends with Trumpet, in jazz band with me
Trombone #2 = one grade ahead, in my section, in marching band with me
Trumpet = in my grade, best friends with Trombone #1, in jazz band with me
I hang out with all three on a regular basis, and am trying to determine if they like me at all, but I don't know!!! gonk

You will probably get frustrated at me for saying this, but he is just a person. You have to understand that. When you do, talking to him will be easier. And befriending him would be the best step as said before by some. Being someone's friend first lets you really get to know them and understand their personality type....With my luck after I get to know them, I no longer like them more than a friend because they are not what they seem to be when you do not know them...
