By popular demand, allow me to present the dream thread! Lets hope that this is full of laughs like the other one was! biggrin
PostPosted: Sat May 03, 2008 10:11 pm

I just recently dreamt about discovering that I could do something like magic and was hired by some sort of secret agency. The building was a bit like a warehouse, but had some computer bays. Anyways, we did most of our work flying around, and my coworkers told me that my life as I knew it was over. One of them lived in the loft of an abandoned building. I suppose this was because we were constantly running from a counter-agency of peeps out to thwart or destroy us. I felt so lost because about the only thing I had learned to do so far was fly, so we'd run into the evildudes and have to squeeze out a window and fly away. And if we were cornered, I just stood there while everyone else duked it out.
After I woke up from this vivid epic dream (I feel like it lasted 3 hours, since that's about how long it took me to wake up from it, I kept falling back in), I found myself pondering why the evildudes were trying to kill me, a rookie. Why would I be worth killing? Wouldn't it be easier to capture me and try to turn me to their cause? Or was I different somehow, tainted, or of no use to them? In that case, I guess it would be easier to just n** me in the bud. ...and then I realized I was arguing cases for my death in an alterniworld, and decided that was morbid and maybe I should get out of bed.

I have had dreams where people wanted to kill me too! For example, last night I dreamed that I was engaged in a battle in a graveyard. My allies were using creatures that came out of books to aid in the battle. A monkey came out of my book and began chunking its own poo a the bad guys. I can't even remember why we were in a battle. blaugh

But NOTHING beats Mira's moose dream! It is too bad that the dream is lost forever to the old guild. crying

I used to annalize dreams alot for my friends when we were still in highschool, and believe me yours isn't the strangest. I used to have a friend who dreamed in anime, lmao. And my spouse's dreams are so combobulated and messed up I can't make heads or tails of it because each part of the dream is contradicting the previous part of the dreams read out. But I can see what I can do with yours. It shouldn't be to hard amazingly enough.

The warehouse could mean a couple things. After all dream analisis is a kinda artform in itself. (I'm horribly murdering english right now.) But in this case its pretty straight foreward. The ware house is your mind. Each computer bay probably holds something of you in it. If you can remmember anything else about the dream theres probably something different at each computer bay. The secret agency symbolises mystery in your life, or possibly something you've been wondering about. The flying around bit is a little harder to explain. Flight symbolises so many things its rediculous. We'll come back to that. The comment, "Life as you knew it, is over" can be taken literally. Its a future statement or present one. Something is about to change or has changed that will change what your life will be like. It could be as simple as you just got some really good grades. or something as complicated as your parents divorcing. This is just your subconcious telling you what your dream is about mostly and why your having it. Theres always a message some where in any dream like this. Now the loft, this is a path your life can go. But without more information I can't tell you much more then that. I suppose there was other people living in different places, these are all paths that your life can lead down, and each one is very different. The agency out to destroy you, is chaos. sub conciously you feel as though your life is so chaotic and you have no control over the situation. You feel all you can do is either run away from the problem or stand by as some one else figures it out for you. Aww.. the after thoughts of a dream are just as important as the dream in itself. Because its the concious and unconcious times to communicate. Its when both are active and your thinking is more in depth on a particular subject. All of these comments are of self doubt. Or have something of self doubt in them. My suggestion. Take a break, put everything on hold, tell everyone your going on a mini vacation and take a step back to study your life and to gain some confidence. Believe me, taking that step back, puts alot of things into perspective. I hope I helped some.

I believe that the word that you were searching for was "discombobulated." We studied dreams a bit in my psychology courses. Flying can USUALLY (meaning not always) symbolized the feeling of freedom and control or the need for escape from a situation. The fact that you are flying means that you feel like you have some type of handle on the situation. However, dream analysis more speculation than a science. biggrin

I dreamed last night, but I was not aware of my dreams upon my awakening. I learned at everyone dreams whether you realize it or now. They say that the usual person has approximately 4 dreams per night. Of those, only one or two are remembered. There is speculation that fragments from the forgotten dreams are associated with deja vu. Of course, this has never been proven.

Actually I'll have to do it one day. I can prove the theory of dream deja vu. Every once in a while, (a lot less now adays) I'll dream of something in the future. It will either happen, tommorrow, the next day or months or even years down the road but it will happen to a "T" of how I dreamed it. Its really wierd things to, like talking to jen about reeses peanut butter cups in the car. I had that dream when I was 14 the reaccurance of it happened at age 20. But as soon as she said one word that was associated to the dream I knew everything she was going to say. Everything was exactly like my dream. Next time I have a dream like that again I'll pull out the video camera and tell the camera what my dream was. Then when it happens, I'll record again, what time, what age I am and what year it is and what exactly happened. Then I'll compare the two and send you the clip.

Oh and yeah your right with the flying thing, I forgot to type it down it was like 4am over here, lol. And yes dream annalisys is all based off of a persons perspective and artistic creativity and imagination.

I just hope that my psychology minor is worth something in the job market. blaugh

Whenever I hear deja vu, I think of that scene in the Matrix. When you have deja vu, it means that something has changed in the matrix. ninja

That is why everything tastes like chicken... ninja

I took a nap this afternoon and I had a good but weird dream. I was kind of bummed out to wake up and find out that it was not true. I dreamed that I was back in college and I was in a Pharmacy class (I have a friend who is a Pharmacy major so maybe that is it). It was two weeks into the course and the professor was asking questions and I didn't know the answer to any of them. I wondered why I couldn't remember any of the class. So, in desperation, I ran for the library where I sat down in a chair and started rocked back and forth. Well, I fell over on my back with the chair. Then, a guy two years younger than me with blond hair and pimples comes along and helps me up. I guess that he was a friend of a friend, but he had a certain charm. He needed a ride to the bank (but we walked for some odd reason) so I went with him. He was really funny and spontaneous. I felt drawn towards him for some reason. When we got to the bank, he disappeared, I looked for him, but I couldn't find him. Then, I somehow ended up on a stage of some other university. I was leaving the place (I guess after looking and doing some drama stuff) when I fell off of the plywood ramp leading to the exit. To be more specific, the think broke from underneath me and I was holding on to the door frame and dangling. Then, this handsome guy my age with red hair shows up and pull me up. We walked and talked back towards my campus. He was amazingly polite, refined, and gentlemanly. Somehow by the end, we ended up embracing. Then I went back to my dorm and I found out on the elevator that both guys are rich and powerful. The blond guy was a famous singer and the red head guy made money in business. I liked both of them and I was mad at myself for losing either one. Then I went to get the directory (which was a tomato for some odd reason), and all that was in it were my Pharmacy class notes and many empty tomato pages. I was feeling sad that I didn't know how to call up either guy when suddenly the blond guy showed up behind me and gave me a hug. I had no idea which guy I wanted, but it felt almost impossible not to be happy around either of them. Then, I woke up. Somewhere before that dream, I dreamed that I woke up about 10 times with various scenarios. After this one, I woke up for real. I want my guys back! crying Please analyze this for me.

Ah! dang you have dreams like my spouse does, lmao. There very hard to annalyze because of a lot of various personal things in the dreams. Like the tomato. I have no idea why the tomato is in there. Not unless I knew you better. The two guys, thats actually a toughy believe it or not because your first reaction is to think of love. But there was none of the classic signs of love surrounding you in the dream. then there was the pharmacy class and how you didn't know anything while you were in it. Its a huge metaphor but at the moment I can't place it. Its going to take me a while to figure it all out. Man this ones a doozy.

Would it help to point out that I am trying to decide on a summer job and a career after I finish my student teaching? I am having serious doubts about going into the education field. I also just ended a very bad relationship very badly shortly before the opening of this new version of the guild. Maybe it is about uncertainty in life? As a side note, tomatoes are very good toppings on pizzas. 3nodding

apparantly you like tomatos, lol, actually that helps alot I'll start on the dream tommorrow when I've had some more sleep. I feel better now I got two tests done for college and am half way done writing my final report. So I think I can sleep some now.

I had a weird dream last night. I got a prescription for Lunesta (sleeping pill) from my doc on Monday, and it's been giving me weird dreams. Actually, I only took one the night before last, and it gave me the bitterest taste in my mouth that last night I took Benedryl instead.
Anyway. *cough*
So last night, I had a dream that me and a bunch of other people were doing some sort of scavenger hunt type thing. Except that we were in a huge cave with HUGE cabinets all along the walls. Inside each was hundreds of Jelly Belly jelly beans, and we were all looking for a SINGLE one that was pear flavor. (My favorite flavor)
Whoever found it was going to get something really cool. I can't remember what it was.
But I kept getting SO frustrated because I'd be in the midst of hunting through the cabinets, my Mom would call me. So I'd huff and sulk and go over to her to find out what she wanted. Usually it was a refresher on her drink, or to sweep the floor, or change a light bulb.
I was SO pissed LOL! I wanted to find that Jelly Belly.

And... that's all I remember. rofl
