So a while ago, I decided I'd try making a tenor pad. This way, I could practice without having the drums (Obviously). So I researched, and I cut out some circles in the sizes of some High School dimension drums. I'm going to lay them out, trace them, then cut out some would so I can lay some rubber down on it. But when I lay the circles on the wood, they're really far apart. Much farther then they seem like they should be. I measured, and I guess the distance from the far side on the quints on the left, to the far side on the right should be about 50.75 inches. Is this right? And I found that there should be about 1.75 inches between each drum. Is this right? And how far should the two upper far drums extend in front of me? And finally, where should the gock drum be? Any help would be supremely appreciated. Thanks!
Also, any tips on playing tenors would be loved! Thanks again!
