Ever walked into a shop that doesn't cater to us gothies, only to find something you'd never expect to find in "that kind" of shop? Post about it here! Tell what you found, and where you found it, also tell us why you were there.
For example, I went with my friend to Macy's (a large department store) to find a dress for her, and I ended up spotting (and buying) this long black trenchcoat with plenty of secret pockets and plenty of places to "punk' it out". cool
*Any shop that isn't geared toward the goth subculture or closely related cultures can be used as an example.

Goodwill. Leather jackets, spare materials (I like picking up velvet dresses and leather skirts/pants to mess around with), etc. But that can be said for any secondhand/thrift store.

I don't really ever shop at "Goth Stores" even when I've had the opportunity to. I buy almost all of my clothes from the GAP, Kohls, Express: Men, and Levi's Outlets. All of them have finds that could be loosely considered "gothy", particularly Express: Men.

i cant remember the shop i was in but it was the complete opposite from gothy type shops and i found bondage trousers and an amazing skirt that was very gothy but liek always they where to big for me =[ why cant tehy make trousers in miniture size for us that are small in height. The skirt the smallest waist size the had was a 6 and well that to big because im small...
but i normaly shop at shops like primark because they do myself and alot of my stuff is gothy =]

I mostly buy my things from Value city, Khols, Walmart, and Target really. I never really did shop at the goth stores.

Ones of my most beautiful items were veeeeery cheap and I found them in a thrift store. Like: A pretty black blouse with frills, and a black velvet long sleeved shirt with black flowers "prints" design. ^_^ I don't shop in "goth shops" either; I think there are only internet goth shops here except for one in the capital, but all the stuff there is ridiculously expensive even when it's not that great or of a good quality.

I found this awesome dress that could be changed around a bit to be EGL at Walmart of all places, but alas I was broke and when I got money the last one was sold.

the thrift shop, value city, novelty shops, uniform stores, filene's basement. Any of those urban hood stores that sell their clothes uber cheap and uber tight.

I found a great t-shirt in Supre, a super-trendy store. I hate that store and everything in it.

I found me a black double-breasted slightly-shorter-than-a-frock-coat in Macy's one day. Happiness ensued. I also often find spiffy sorts of clothing in the Goodwill store - vests and weird ruffly things and such.
