Its by far one of my favorite. I loved the music we had in this show. There were a lot of glissandos which are o so fun. A lot of tuning changes in the middle of the song which is fun too. All through the tension on our drums wasnt the best so I couldnt get most of the notes.
Ah then the Allstate audition had the funnest timpani part I've ever seen. It had sixteenth notes switching from drum to drum and forte piano rolls which are extremely fun too.

Timpani are the coolest drums I've ever played. But I have issues 'cause I'm a mallet player and I don't normally read bass clef. -_-;;

XDD timpani is so fun to play. especially if theres a solo...which is kinda rare to find...but my band director searches for em' cause he thinks i'm that good. XDD lol.

I do admit, I love Mallets a little more than Timpani, But I find timpani to be just as much fun! Especially if you find the right songs. there are some amazing orchestral timpani parts. The 4th movement of Dvorak's 9th Symphony (The New World) was like my first major timpani piece and I had so much fun I nearly cried!!! Its still one of my faves, but there are some other great timpani pieces out there too! "Inferno" has a HUGE timpani solo in it. "Peter and the Wolf" actually has a character whose marked by the timpani (Grandfather's Shotgun). Just keep your Eye out for them cause they are out there!!!

I LOOOOVEE mallets and timpani is a close second, but the only reason that I don't usually play timpani is that the parts for timpani are practically just multi-tom at an 8th grade level. But when there are songs with timpani and no mallet, I play timpani, and when there isn't enough people to cover timpani while i'm playing mallets I play both... so it works out smile Unfortunately for the many amazing timpani players, there aren't many solos for timpani out there, and since there's like a billion for marimba I lean toward that. Oh, and I'm first chair too, so yeah.

I heart timpani. It's the best. I'm a bass drummer and soon to snare. During concert season, we have to play pit instruments, so I normally play timpani. IT'S THE BEST!!!!!!!

the timpani adds the BAM in a loud song. the timpani is the accent. rolls are fun the note changes switching from timpani to timpani makes the performance exciting
so youre right the timpani needs attention X3
