I loved the animation and concept, but I couldn't get into the storyline...
...maybe I'd like it better if I saw it again...:/

I loved how the character looked so different from the anime series. I love Sora's Folktale song!!!

I hated it. It seemed extremely disconnected from the series and the character's development seemed completely different.
The tv series was awesome though. I wish that Van and Hitomi had stayed together at the end.

I liked it. The rougher edged (almost sketchy) animation was amazing, the noses annoyed me in the series. I liked Millerna a lot more in the movie. Instead of being a whiny princess, she was a badass warrior.
-laughs- It was made to try to get a bigger male fanbase for Escaflowne. The series was meant to be a Shonen anime, but 80% of it's fanbase was female. Sadly (for the creators) it attracted just as many female fans.

Hitomi Kanzaki is the main character, that's the school girl.
I'm talking about Princess Millerna Sarah Aston of Astoria. You can see the difference here. Millerna from the movie is on the right, Millerna from the TV series is on the left.

I loved Escafowne the movie. I saw it after I had watched the series so I understood what was going on. I think the series was better than the movie but it was still a pretty good movie. heart

slp101 Oh,ok. But this is what she looked like in the one I saw. Thats Hitomi in the picture that you have there. The one Kaze no Ato is taking about is Allen's (Hope I have his name right sweatdrop ) sister, if I'm remebering the anime properly. Still have to see the movie, but love the anime.
