Talon waterfall. A simple place and one of the more beautiful spots in Phoenix. While it's nothing compared to Kardon's forest, it's still peaceful.
A young boy, no older than nineteen, perhaps, stood at the shore of the lake, gazing up as the water fell from the cliff overhead where a river ran. "It's so calm here," he commented as a light breeze ruffled his blue hair and clothing. His blue eyes were filled with delight and a smile smile had snuck its way onto his face. "I can see why Father would want to come here. And Anna, too. But. . ."
The boy left his sentence hanging, sighing as he simply sat on the ground and gazed out at the water; it was strange. His father had been so eager to come and Anna helped him with that. But as soon as he learned that a certain person he was looking for wasn't here (he didn't remember his name), he'd gotten angry.
And now. . .they were waiting in Kanieg. In the house Anna's dead uncle had left her.

"Alright alright, now no eating the lizards okay? Or the birds or fish..." shin sighed as his group of four dogs and a kid were let loose in the area, mikarou automatically going after the lizards, dakota sniffing around calmly, thank goodness she was a calm dog..probably had puppys on the way.
"Cody, what are you grinning at?" the dog seemed to be smiling at him, but at the same time he seemed to be sensing for something, buttons to like hed picked up a scent. "Nanjiro, dont fall in kay!" shin cautioned. Having to drag his kid from the lake half drowned....
"Worry wart" nanjiro teased sticking his tongue out at his daddy and completely ignoring him, hopping on the slightly wet rocks as he peered into the clean cool water, little spotted fishys swimming around in it.

Button sniffed at the trees and ground, trotting through the area but still staying close to Shin and Nanjiro. The area. . .was empty. As usual. "Heh. Cody. You've got active owners. But just wait. Jiro will start running on the walls like Rick," the black chow barked before sneezing again; ack. Stupid dust. But now, with the sun beating overhead, he was hot. And he started to pant, silently cursing his black coat as he padded over to the lake and lay near the water.
After a few minutes, though, Button smelled another human scent. Familiar. . .but not quite. And yet. . .
The dog cocked his head, looking in the direction the smellwas strongest; toward a boy sitting not too far from him, gazing out at the water as his brilliant blue hair was ruffled by the wind.
Wait. Blue hair?
"Alex!" Button barked loudly, instantly standing up and dashing up to the boy. The boy only had a moment to notice him before the giant dog got him, knocking him over and sniffing jim all over the place before licking his face all over.
"Ah! H-Hey! Come on, cut that out!" the boy laughed as he weakly tried todefend himself.

"Dont tease buttons, I can only keep up with the little rug rats so much..thank goodness there are others in the house" thank goodness indeed or hed never be able to keep up with nanjiro and laura..and shin..yuki...Roan now roan he liked spending time with, the man was quiet and fed him lots of treats, it was a nice place to go over to sometimes. Watching his fluffy friend idle near the water as he moved to watch over the little one, knowing nanjiro couldnt swim well and not wanting to chance the boy falling in. Quietly watching and padding along not to far out of reach.
Shin smiling and relaxing, finally taking a break seeing as everything was under control for a moment..lets see, nanjiro wasnt drowned, and his pets werent bringing him any dead presents..yep all good. "Eh? Buttons where are you going?" the dog suddenly darting off. Shin sighed hearing someones voice...joy his friends dog had mauled a hiker..well at least itd be interesting.
Nanjiro laughing happily as he skipped from rock to rock, nearly loosing his balance a few times, but cody was always there padding along to pull him back, the water was shallow here thankfully, and the dog could walk in it alongside him, hee hee such a good swimmy doggy!
"Buttons, what are you..." and he found himself trailing off, for the person the dog had pinned and was licking to death, was lex, but..but no it wasnt lex it..? Lex clone? "Ah, hey im sorry, buttons he just, he loves strangers" shin apologized quickly, snapping out of it enough to pull buttons off the poor kid..kid..definettly the guy was young, younger then lex. But, damn if he didnt look just like him! Sept for the eyes..that was it what set him apart, he looked to young, not enough lines on his face, and the eyes, totally different color. "So, ah im shin, heh nice to meet you" he smiled attempting to be friendly while he tried to figure this out.

"No, no. It's fine, really," the boy answered as he sat up, brushing dirt off his front and back, as well as some bits in his hair. Button seemed to growl at Shin before padding over to Cody to help watch over Nanjiro. "He's a cute dog. Oh! Gomenasai! I'm Adrian. I'm on a small trip here with my father and friends."

"Im glad your okay, heh button is a big dog" shin sighed, well at least the kid was okay, that was a start. "He is, hes not my dog really, watching him for a friend, but hes a good dog. Its nice to meet you adrian" adrian, so he was a tourist, good to know..why did something keep nagging at him though! No ya know what forget it, just make friends..."So your here vacationing? That has to be fun. Sometimes I wish I could vacation away from here, it is a really pretty place though.." shin shrugged and smiled, glancing over at the others. "So..you like dogs, that means you must like kids to? I have to walk em or they go nuts..wanna see em?" introducing the guy to their little pack..gods was he lame? He realized he must be getting old, asking a total stranger to come play with his dogs and his kid...adrian didnt seem like a threat though, and buttons liked him..sides wasnt like he was defenseless if something did go wrong.

"Yup. I'm on vacation, in a way. And kids?" Adrian thought for a minute, standing up when he remembered he was still on the ground. "They're fun! Except when they feel like pulling your hair. Then they're just evil."
Button trotted dutifully beside Cody, though he did occasionally dash off to sniff at a tree or something even more interesting. "Hmm. . .he looks like Alex, doesn't he? Had nearly the same scent, too." The chow sneezed again, truly hating the dust. Then, though, he dashed in front of Nanjiro, crouching low and looking ready to pounce, though his tail was wagging excitedly.

"Lucky, id love a vacation. Heh my kids arent that bad..well at least not all of them" shin shrugged grinning, nanjiro had a habit of biting..and..well..being hyper jumpy and easily excited, he was sure the kid had add or something, not that he was complaining, he loved his little one.
"Hes strange isnt he?" cody smiling quietly as he surveyed the man, caught between wanting to trust him..hed known lex so well for so long and grown accustomed to the mans presence among his little pack..specially around shin. And caught between wanting to be defensive..hed never been defensive around anyone, always openly welcomed most strangers so long as shin showed approval first, heh he trusted his masters instincts..This was just to strange, his eyes were lying to him, but his nose wasnt, this was not lex despite the looks. "I wonder...no never mind.." shaking his head, hed let the others handle the stranger, and just focus on nanjiro.

"Ah. Then I'd like to meet him! Bet he's really cute. Oh!" Adrian searched himself, in every pocket until, when he got to his front-left pants, he pulled out a small slip of paper. "Hm. . .actually, I'll just leave it for Anna," he murmured absentmindedly to himself before tucking the paper away again.
Button tilted his head curiously at Cody, though being the semi-young dog he was, he instantly dismissed whatever his senior had to say and simply darted beside Nanjiro, leaning over to try and lick his face; the kid was like Rick, in a way. Maybe that was why he liked him so much?

Nanjiro yelped and giggled as he was licked using buttons as support while he leaned over to hug the dog, not wanting to fall into the water either, the doggy was so soooo CUTE! And fluffy and big and he loved doggys. Noticing for the first time that hid daddy was kinda outta sight, talking to some blue haired guy..cool! He loved the color blue.
"Nanjiro is cute but hes a pest, heh all of these guys are at some point but I love em" shin smiled slightly, glancing around at his dogs. "Well youve already met buttons..hes the black one, the big old one is cody, hes my bud" snickering a little at the glare cody gave him for calling him old. "And these two are mikarou and dakota, ones a golden retriever..and..dakota is, hmm shes part wolf part something else. We love big dogs really" he smiled at adrian.

"Part wolf? Really? That's cool!" Adrian said, beaming happily. Then he just smiled a small smile, poking towards Nanjiro and Cody. "Cody doesn't look that old. And your kid is cute, too! Heh, you're lucky you have them. Say, if Button isn't yours, then why do you have him?"

Laura came hopping along. She spotted all the dogs and her brother, so she looked around for Shin. She saw him and started hopping for him. "Daddy, daddy, daddy!" she yelled for him while hopping. Yukiko came a few steps behind her. She was lookng at Laura most of the time she was walking. Especially when she got closer to the water. Laura could swim. . . kinda. But when she did it looked more like a struggling fish. . .

"Yeah it is..heh, he doesnt look old, but hes 11" shin smiled, the guy seemed pretty okay, nothing mean about him at least so he was safe. That and the freaky resemblance to lex made him want to trust adrian. "Oh buttons, hes my best friends dog, um, lex he and his family finally took a vacation, left me to take care of the dog cause buttons doesnt travel well" that and itd be hard to take care of him if they brought him along, dogs had different needs then people.
Nanjiro giggled and waved "Hi hi! Ah..im not cute!" the boy laughed as cody nuzzled him, his nose was cold! "So whas your name huh huh, I wanna know!" he laughed glad to see a new person, he liked people..kinda. Depended..
Shin turning not to surprised to see his other half and his little girl. "Well, looks like the rest of them are here to" it was pleasant, grinning at the giggling shouting girl, "Hi laura sweets..so you and mommy came out to find me huh?" he grinned, happy to see them..and even introduce them to adrian.

"You are cute and you know it," Adrian teased, just to mess with the kid. Then he just knelt on the ground in from of Nanjiro, smiling a little. "My name's Adrian. It's nice to meet both you and your father."

Anna was floating again as she pulled Ginji, humming a small happy tune that resembled something like "We're going to see Adrian~!" over and over. She liked him. A lot. Shiro. . .not so much. He was more of a father figure than anything. Soon, though, she saw a dot of blue and positively beamed. "Adrian-kun!" she exclaimed. And without thinking, she let go of Ginji and flew right up to Adrian.
The sudden impact made him jump and nearly fall over, but for the most part, he was fine. "A-Anna. . .good to see you, too," the boy said shakily, trying to even out his breathing again.
