Congratulate me. I've just fallen for someone, for the first time in about nine years.
He's kind, he's interesting, he's intelligent, he's talented, he's openminded, and he's ******** gorgeous.
Only catch is, he's an antisocial drunken raving loon.

Antisocial and raving loon might be selling points, though. I don't know how things will turn out. He doesn't want a relationship because of the possibility of drama, but he does want to see me a couple of times a week. I'll just see what develops and not expect anything in particular.

Discuss the drinking with him, tell you you're seriously considering this, and also tell him this drinking and crazy behaviour may be a barrier.
You've probably already tried the communication thing, but it always helps to itterate! Best of luck.

See him, let things develop naturally on their own. Talk to him about cutting down on the drinking, not quiting (that will just piss him off or start drama), cutting down, and spend some time with him without a lot of people in the area.
