Color Guard is a place of random fun. What are some of the dos and don'ts that you can thank of for color guard?
Do: always catch ur saber tosses
Don't: Always hit the person next to you with your saber tosses.

im so sick of the rotc they think theyre so much better than us. once i was even told that the band, especially the guard, does absolutely nothing. we don't support the school. that the rotc does so much more. he said that the rotc has to be at every football game directing traffic, we don't have to be at every game. HELLOOOOO????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they're only at home games! we're at every one! jeez! we don't do anything for the community? excuse me, but i didn't see the rotc crawling around in the mud around the lake fishing out trash? but we did it! so, do remind me, what exactly does the rotc do? oh shnap, that was josh that said that too! urgh he's so lucky i love him or i'da strangled him. sorry about the rant the thing about rifles and sabres for rotc reminded me...
Do: toss when you're supposed to. it also helps greatly if you catch it.
Don't: hit the ceiling while practicingperforming indoors. that's not cool.
Dont: if you are on the ground, you are a rock. the tree is jumping over said rock. DO NOT MOVE ONCE THE TREE IS IN THE AIR!!! [i almost landed on a girl on saturday because i am "tree" and she is "rock" and she moved while i was jumping over her.]
Do: keep moving if you get hit by your equipmentsomeone else's
Don't: stop in the middle of the floor!!!
Don't: move while youre frozen!
Do: freeze in the right spot!!!!!!
Do: get to your spot on time, please.

DONT: forget your moves in the middle of comp. try to memorize them ( I did that once but I was a flute at that time)

good one there about the tuba.....
never let the drummers see your rifles... they try to show off , and it ends badly....
um... never have to use white out and paint to fix dents in dressers.....
hehe never wear bright underwear with white silk pants.....
(no electric blue boy shorts!!)
don't get unwanted nicknames, they will stick forever.....

hippie pimp lady do: beat up the precussionists don't: smash a $5,000 marching tuba with ur rifle in my cg we have a game for practice and shows(marching band shows) practice: we don't tape our stoppers on the practice flags so they tend to come flying off and hit somebody. so we came up with a game and a piont system. shows: you know how there are judges in the top box and on the feilsd walking around, well we try to hit the ones that are in our way. if they move then i cry because it is so fun to hit a judge.

Do: know where to place your eguipment for drop-off and pick-up so no one has to sit out for part of the show it ain't fun.
Do: remeber to preform at all times even when setting your eguipment and marching of the feild.(while you are preformingthis can help if you drop your eguipment.

Dont: be stupid and continue spinning with a fractured wrist and a sprained thumb.((i was really stupid and finished the show with both injuries.)got yelled at for that)
Dont: wrap ur thumb around the rifle thats how u end up like me with sprained thumbs.

Do: Make sure your swing flags go in the right places and don't dent the french horn next to you... ESPECIALLY if you're a captain.
Bloody embarrassing, that was. O_O
Oh, and don't drink two energy drinks right before practice... your directors will think you're nuts.

Do: practice all of the moves and other stuff you have learned so far.
Don't: forget your moves on the field, especially when spectators are watching.
Don't: practice in your house. You wouldn't believe how much stuff you can break...XD
Do: listen to the instructor.
Don't: space off when the band conductor is telling you where to go on the field and other stuff that might be important to you.
Do: watch where your going when performing tricks. If you hit a tuba player with your baton or flag in the mouthpiece, that really hurts!
Dont: hit a spectator that will make you miss a bunch of points.

Do: Listen attentivly to the directions being given to you
Don't: Fidget/Spin/Talk while recieving directions
Do: Memorise your drill asap
Do: Be prepared to adjust accordingly, the band isn't perfect and it's up to you to pretend to be
Do: If you have to pass through the band, go through the SAME TWO PEOPLE no matter what, doing otherwise will confuse them and result in pain
Don't: Give the uppers sass
Don't: Cheer for yoursef, that's tacky
Don't: Drop and stand there looking lost, pick up your equipment and keep on going like you ment it the entire time
Don't: Move if someone(judge) is in your way
Do: Keep your equipment in good condition
Don't: Complain, remember, you signed up for the activity
