   Anime News Network Plot Summary: This is a story of a young and tragic love, set in the aerial city of Neo Verona. Tyranny rules this island in the sky after the Montague family took control 14 years prior. The disparity among the wealthy and poor is apparent in the present state, the earth dries and water stagnates. The sky itself is wrapped in a deep dense fog. Both Romeo and Juliet's lineages are of present and past ruling families of Neo Verona. Romeo is the son of the current Montague dictator, Juliet (a beautiful woman) masquerades as a man (Odin), she's the last descendent of Capulet the previous rulers who were killed by an assasin's dagger 14 years ago. Her true background is not to be revealed to her until her 16th birthday while being raised by her sister. The cruel hands of fate introduces 2 people who will become "Star Crossed Lovers". I just started watching it last week and finished it two days ago. I must say, this is very intriguing anime to see. The animation is slightly above decent, superb storyline. I especially love the trivias and plots and all the twists they put into this.
The opening song is beautiful and it fits the overall feel of the story. I love it to pieces. I even think it's one of the reasons I got hooked on this show. The final episode got me crying for 15-20 minutes. ;o;
Well, what do you expect? It is Romeo and Juliet.
Overall, this is definitely a must see. So...

Even favorite pairings.
Lol, crack pairings are acceptable. I love them myself.

well, I haven't seen it, and I'm not a typical fan of Romeo and Juliet, but this take sounds interesting, and I've been looking for a romance. I shall investigate!

Anyways,
I haven't seen this, I'm not too big on Shakespeare, but I think if I had to give one that i did like, it'd be Romeo and Juliet. I've been contemplating over watching or not.
The art looks really good, this is the first time i've seen screenshots from it!

Anyway.
Yes, I highly recommend it.
And because of this anime, I became interested in the original Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare.

My main objection with Shakesphere's is that they never really knew each other, Romeo was on the rebound, and the whole scene where they die is just. . .stupid honestly. >> so if they die and die well, I'm good with it
