When you first made your avatar (or now for that matter), did it resemble you somehow? Same hair color, eyes, skin tone, gender, etc.?

Mine didn't. When I first came to here a million years ago in 2003 my avatar was caucasian with spiky red hair. I'm not really sure why. The base look I use now (though it isn't part of this current look) usually resembles what I really look like.
My avatars have always been male, though.

For the most part, my avatar looks like me. Granted, it looks like headhunter's base as well, but what can you do?
I did have preppy red hair, but I changed it when they made the "shaved" haircut.
However, whenever I dress down my avatar (no wings, no weapons, no pets, etc...) it dresses almost exactly like me.
My other avatar (Sanitess) is a girl, and is nothing like me. However, I changed her base to more look like my normal avatar when I dress him like a girl. That one is more like what I would want my daughter to look like, if I had one, hence my sig being a girl.

well... mine's got my skin tone, but i've got brown eyes and black hair. i always created mine to look more fantasy-like.

Call me what you will, but I tend to keep some aspects of my avatar the same as me. For instance, when I cut my hair, it becomes the current style. Also, I'm always wearing low-rise jeans or just being in my boxers. Low-rising. Not sagging. Bleh. I hate the way sagging looks. Also, I'm almost always holding a cup of coffee, although it's cold most of the time because my fionce distracts me. xd

The base is based on me. Brown hair, green eyes and male. However, my current one is usually not me, but my mood. I change often.

mine looked like me at first. light skin, blue eyes and short brown hair. since the oculus magica came out, though, i've more or less kept the red eyes and the avi hair is now either black or white. also, my hair is definately not short anymore, even though my avi's is. one thing though, i have a goatee and my avi doesn't.

When I first started, I made my avi look as much like me as possible, and even tried to dress her similarly to the way I'd dress in real life. Then I realised that there is just too much fun to be had in playing with all the crazy items out there, that I stopped making it a priority. I still like to have the base look more or less like me, but I change my hair so often and it's often difficult to find something that resembles my actual hair. Particularly now that it is blonde -the blonde options are useless!
