I would recomend Proactive or Acneclear ^^ heart heart heart heart Pending on where you live, they do have over the counter birth control. if its not an option, (It wasn't for me when it was an issue) Avoid any oil based make ups, change your pillowcases every few days, keep your hair back when you sleep, wear minimal makeup, (let your face breath), scrubs clean out pores facial cleansers help keep them that way.

Aww I know how you feel, my skin's always been very on-and-off. Make sure you clense, tone and moisturise everyday. I used to be really lazy with doing it but now I do it regulary it's improved. If you don't have time for all three, then try to just clense 'cause that gets rid of the grease. Best to do it in the morning and before bed. One thing that I find really good is the Clearasil vanishing cream, if you can find it, give it a go!
Best of luck to you!

To add on: Well, if they don't have it over the counter, you can always go to a GYN clinic. And O/T xD, if you're 16-17ish and you haven't gone to a GYN yet, now it would be best to go and get a checkup and whatnot.
As for skin care, even though my skin is clear and smooth 98% of the time, having a facial scrub that will dry out your skin will probably be good.

Actually, I got this lotion from my doctor (that was like $120US), and it helped get rid of my existing acne (where proactiv and neutrogena had failed). But I've been using Avon's mineral makeup foundation and I really haven't had any break-outs or oily skin anymore (as opposed to other acne-prone areas where I haven't been using the makeup), and other people have even been noticing how my actual skin is looking better with the use of this makeup (where others have only caused more break-outs). Plus it, surprisingly enough, makes my face look flawless when worn with a spritzing of water and a dab-dry (even I was shocked at how good it looked). It's just a matter of finding your right shade. http://shop.avon.com/shop/product.asp?pf_id=31786&from=search&find_spec=mineral makeup&camp=200803&dir_delivery=1&rep_delivery=1Either way, it is a good idea to at least wash and moisturize your face 1-2 times a day (I usually just do it before bed).

For a while, my skin had improved when I began to use proactiv again. I had stopped using it because it wasn't helping, and then another shipment came when I had two others under my sink.... sweatdrop I use it once a day before I go to bed because it dries out my skin so bad. I'm not sure what to do, and it's really horrible when I have to use makeup just to look the slightest bit better. I don't know what I should use and all that, and I'd feel bad to stop using proactiv because my mom spent so much money on it.... I had to give one of my shipments to my friend because I had, like, 3 or 4 under my sink... If I can get rid of the acne I have right now, then I know I could use proactiv to keep it away and I'd be all good, but I'm just not sure how to go about this....

Don't use it everyday then. Try using it every other day or twice a week, and then all the other days use a moisturizing face wash and see how that works out.

Well damn, sounds like we have the same time of skin. I was hella mad when after all the money and all the products went to waste on things that didn't work. stressed There were products that stalled and concealed but never really managed to heal my face completely. Sometimes eating healthy foods and exercising weren't enough. So my mom drove me to the dermatologists. (I really had no choice, and yes, the pricking hurts like crazy.) But, it was worth it. And after 2 months of checkups and a regular skin regimen, it worked. 4laugh And if ever I get a zit, it's small and due to work related stress or a really heavy menstrual flow. Birth control? Oh my... lol

By saying "skin problems", I'm going to infer that your also mean "acne problems", which is where I jump in. I don't get terrible face problems often, just one or two crazy zits which seemingly crop up over night and are typically gone by a week (two if the thing's a maniac). Just keep it clean, definitely, by washing three times daily [morning (shower/washup) , afternoon, evening (shower/washup)]. I use Neutregena (hmm, I wonder if that's spelled right...) orange soap for the washing of the face in the A.M. and P.M. hours. For afternoon, it's good to give it a good wash, but I use Clearasil "Deep Pore Cleansing" pads, especially for my nose. Any one of my friends who've used them attest to the same thing: "Woah, it opened my face!"
But keep in mind I'm not an oily or dry person, just a chick in the middle. However, avoiding a daily wash or two will keep the pimples piling on as the body generates its own grease naturally.
All this aside, there was a great thread (as in great contributions; nothing to the author) a while back about acne. It should clear up any major concerns. Best of luck!

I have that, too.
Especially in the summer.
I'm too stubborn to go on Birth Control. Not that there's anything wrong with it... It just doesn't feel right to me.
HOWEVER~
You could try ProActiv or Neutrogena (sp? )
But proactiv doesn't really work all to well...
You have to use it for at least a month (at least with me) instead of two weeks two times a day.
I wish that they had something that you wouldn't have to do continously. Like one thingie that will clear up your skin that you don't have to do 2 times a day, with 3 different steps.
I run very low on time, because I love going to parties and school is really harsh this year. Writing gets in the way with me, too.
But~ Yeah... Try ProActiv... But if you find something that isn't 3 steps (I don't care if we have to put it on 3 times a day) just tell me, too~ smile

There's this stuff around where I am called AcneFree. Shiny orange bottles is the mega stuff, and it works like a dream. I had the WORST acne all up on my forehead and I started using it after I tried it at a friend's and I was like OMFG MIRACLE SOAP.
ALSO. I am a BIIIIGGG fan of Biore. I've only used the toning face stuff (know what I mean?) once, but it's a good story. I washed my face and put some on a cotton face pad and when I was done putting it on, the pad was SOOO dirty I was like WTF, WHY SOAP NO WORKy? D:< But the toner and cleanser got it all out. Nice clean face. I use the Biore ice pore cleansing soap. It's nice and thick and it's meant to clean out your pores with the little scrubby thing, and clogged pores lead to acne. So Biore.
Or birth control. I second that. I only went on bc for my cramps (no one likes passing out in the diaper isle) and it helped clear my face up. :3
