This really pisses me off;
-i dont really care if any of you are indeed sexually active, or are still a virgin. I just hate how people assume so.
-Now lingire is based off of goths, and corsets and stuff...which may give these amateurs some idea of this.
-Back when i was in High School, people called me a slut and s**t for the stuff i wear. Long black skirts and corsets, crosses...and well, make up.
I really hate it when people assume this stuff
But what ticks me off more is;
GOTHS DONT WEAR ALL BLACK.
I am starting to feel that not very many of you are aware of the real meaning of goth and are refering to new-age punk; which concerns me. But whatever.

This seems like a rant. And an unfocused one at that. On to specific points... destructive emotions Lingerie is based off of goths There's certainly an overlap of burlesque aesthetic into the goth culture, but I wouldn't say there's any direct connection. destructive emotions GOTHS DONT WEAR ALL BLACK. Almost everyone here knows that. destructive emotions I am starting to feel that not very many of you are aware of the real meaning of goth and are refering to new-age punk; which concerns me. Whether or not goth has a "real meaning" is up for argument. There are dozens of commonly used definitions, and in nearly 30 years as a culture, goths themselves have yet to agree upon a single one.

This whole post makes little to no sense. Is it about being a virgin? Being called a slut? Is it about lingerie? Goth culture?

If people considered me slutty for the way I dress I'd be pissed off too.
Also, what's a new-age punk? To me a Goth is someone who listens to Goth rock/deathrock/darkwave, dresses Goth and identifies with the culture.

...I'm......sorry? Lol! It's the cold truth of it dear, many of the others (as in non-goths) relate gothic clothing to things such as bondage.
What do you mean "Now lingerie is based off of goths"? Dark lingerie and bondage-like clothing has been around forever it seems and is staying. And because of this they automatically think "slut".
But no matter what you wear stupid people will find something to insult you over, anything. So...sorry you feel bad but you need to get over it. It's how the world is. They are going to assume, so don't take it to heart, just be ready for it.
Oh and how dare you insult everyone in this guild!! Not aware? If you hate people assuming so much maybe you shouldn't assume we don't know what the meaning of goth is?
Or is it bad to assume but Ok to be a hypocrite?

Yeah I hate that assumption too, I mean most of the girls I know who wear Uggs and typically 'slutty' clothes, I tend to find get into long term relationships, rather then one night stands, but thats just my observation. Yet I won't sleep with any of the alternative crowd from my town, given chances are I know at least 5 people they've slept with and I don't know what I might catch.
