where im from, people only care about football. (seriously, our tiny little town's high school football team has a show on ESPN)
so yeah, marching band is a big deal to those in marching band.
but color guard... no one cares about us!
even us!
we had 11 people this year...
but not enough girls cared enough about the gurad for us to have a winterguard. so im sad.
(smallest winter guard in the state last year, we got 3rd in our class!)
im very disliked but im up for captain next year.
shall be fun.
no winterguard = recruiting at middle schools.

Our fall guard had 6 girls on it. We originally started winter guard to keep ourselves in shape but we have 20 girls with us... we're really excited

this semester we started out with around 12 girls? an it became 7 by the en o the year. peole just kept quitting. but no offense to them.. but they never came to rehearsalss and didnt do nyhing anyways =.=; so in a way it was good. we're not sure if we're gonna have a winterguard O_O;
I LOVE FT BALL GAMES!!!! i just love cheering an having fun in the stands cause no offense but out ft ball team sucks $h!TTTT!!!!... u know what i mean O_o and theyre really mean to us olorgaur.. they call us.. the girls who couldnt get into cheerleading.. wtff!? srsly =] but heering in the stands is fun =]

our color guar has 8! woooo the largest ihas ever been! lol and how could u not have a winter guard!!! i love winter guard way more than marching season!

In middle school we would have 15-20 guard members in the beginning of the year, but by the end of the year we would only have 5, and that's the minimum for WGASC without getting penalized. But now in high school we have the biggest guard in our district, and there will be 21 people in our winterguard this year, which is soooo much better than having only 5 and always getting last place.

Marching season we had 4.
Winter season we have 6.
The min. for winter is 5.
But guard got a superior for marching season.

We had 10 girls in colorguard this field season... I twas crazy. We only had three returning members. Six were freshman recruited from a middle school (which I was one of). But hey, we scored third or fourth in our class (since our band instructor didn't feel like doing the math) so it's all good!
We have winterguard, though. Seven girls from marching band joined, and one girl from field season left. 16 girls... we're at the largest we've ever been.

Fall season had 8, we'll be lucky if we can have that number next year. Winter season we had two sign up so he made us do winter percussion. My band director seemed to ignore me when I told him that I had no musical experience, **sigh** he stuck me on bass drums...

we are probably what can be considered a good sized guard, since we do have 18 people but proportionately to our band which has over 230 members we are small.

We had 21 people in our guard for field season and for winterguard we-re down to about 18, but next year if we don't get any new members we'll be down to 12 people because nearly everyone is a senior and we got no freshman this year.
My guard is good sized compared to most that have posted here, but it's very small for my district. The other highschools in my district have something like 60 to 80 people in their guards. INCREADIBLY HUGE!
But our high school is very sports oriented and no one considers marching or colorguard a sport so we're very ignored and cast aside. They didn't even let us recruit last year!
But I'm happy with our small colorguard. Imagine having to know 60 different people just to get through guard!

you guys are lucky. I'm captain at a school that only averages a 3-4 person colorguard. no guys allowed and we can't do winter guard.

my colorguard has 6 ppl this year last year we had like 11 4 were seniors and no one at my school wants to join anymore cause we only got one captain but she is really fat and no one likes her and she is not that good but she goes to every practice and she is to happy all the time and im not trying to be mean but she is so 2 faced and she always yelling at ppl about how they are bad but then it would be so mean to call her fat or something but i cant say anything wrong about her because my teacher said that im not captain and im that i didnt go to college and stuff so... next year there will prolly only be like 3 ppl and then the year after there will be like 0 because of her and ive been trying to be captain for like 2 year and i have the most accuracy on my tosses and remembering everything and i was one of the 2 to be on the rifle line and the captain wasnt even in it and she cant even do a parallel and when she tries to do things and makes it look cool she makes it look all retarded and not accurate to the points of it i really dont get how she is captain because she always talks about ppl behind there back is it me that im just to mean or is it her? wow this is a long message lol
