((for the sake of "because I can" I'm going to make a post with my character, If anyone objects to this I will delete it immediately but otherwise perhaps this post might actually get the proverbial show on the road. )) Alara Rostriett sat in the Forecastle section of the ship a single, almost full, bottle of rum in her hands leaning back against the railing. She was singing softly and calmly to herself in a clear soprano as she listened to the sails flap in the wind where they weren't tied to the mast.
...We're rascals, scoundrels, villains and knaves. Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho! We're devils and black sheep, really bad eggs! Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.
We're beggars and blighter's and ne'er-do-well cads. Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho! Aye! But we're loved by our mommies and dads! Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me. Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.
She listened to the sounds of the people, some other pirates like herself, some nosy little landlubbers, and others merely merchants who were delivering goods for the ship. She was waiting for her captain to inform her if she had a task this time around as she listened to the water splash against the wooden planks of the ship. The smell of salt water was almost as intoxicating as the rum she was pretending to drink, not that she didn't like the stuff it was merely a drink that clouded judgment and she was not about to loose her wits while she may yet have something to do rather than just swing the lead. A seagull landed close to her and she looked up at it through her red brown bangs "whaddo you want?" she muttered and made a shooing motion at the large bird with the hand that held the bottle of rum.
