Postwick Town is a small rural farming town primarily filled with rustic cottage homes. It is famous for being the town where the Champion Leon was raised. He frequently visits to encourage and occasionally endorse young pokemon trainers to try the Galar gym challenge themselves, because he believes that anyone can "Have a Champion Time".

It was a small walk from Wedgehurst to Postwick. When Joseph entered into the tiny rural town, it made the young mocha-skinned male stop and pull out his rotom phone to take a few pictures with the vast fields full of pokemon. It was so beautiful. Nova had jumped off of Joseph's shoulder and started to walk on top of the stone fences that separated the walkways and the fields of grass. While they walked, searching for some new pokemon to add to their party, Joseph took a few pictures and sent them to his family.
He had pictures of Wooloo sleeping in the fields, and Butterfree floating above in the sky. It looks so tranquil here. He even took a few pictures of himself and his pokemon wandering around in the town. It was when he had let out Acorn to do a few pictures with him that a wild Rookidee had caught the Seedot's attention. It had been bullying some Caterpie which made Acorn really upset. Without even waiting, Acorn had started a battle with the Rookidee and had won in no time. Seeing as His pokemon had battled it, Joseph decided to capture it as a new member of their family. Upon letting it out of the Pokeball to try and heal its wounds from the battle though, The Rookidee had a bit of sass to her. Which made Joseph try to calm her down with a few snacks. In the end, he had won over the little bird pokemon and had even given her the name Ebony.
Joseph had taken to letting her out of her Pokeball in an attempt to form a bond with the sassy little Rookidee. who was flying around his head while he carried Acorn and let Nova wander around on the stone walls he walked next to.

While they move around Postwick, Joseph had called Acorn back into its Pokeball but allowed Nova and Ebony to stay out. He still wanted to win over Ebony, the little Rookidee seemed to be a pokemon that didn't trust easily. And Joseph wanted to enjoy some time with the flying type. Nova had also been called into her Pokeball, mostly because the tiny little fire rabbit had worn herself out from all the excitement so far today, and needed a break in her Pokeball to recharge herself. While Ebony flew around him, Joseph watched with curiosity as he looked from Ebony to the small farmers market they were currently walking through. He had wanted to pick up a few ingredients for later use in his cooking. At the moment he had gathered a few bags of fruits and vegetables, as well as one or two packaged slices of meat, and some drinks since he was running low on supplies. He was carrying the bag when he took notice that Ebony wasn't flying around his head anymore.
Blinking he looked around. Confused and worried as to where Ebony had wandered off to. Only to spot her landing on the shelving of a market vendor stall that was selling seeds. Blinking he walked over as he saw how she stared at the seeds with interest. "Do you want some of these seeds Ebony??" he asked curiously as the pokemon fluffed her feathers and made a call of confirmation. This made Joseph smile as he looked around at the array of seeds, before buying a few bags of sunflower seeds and one of the pumpkin seeds. He then held the bags out for Ebony to see. "Let's find a nice spot so we can try these out. I got the plain seeds for you and the salted ones for me." he said happily as Ebony made a happy chirping call before flying off the shelf and following her trainer to a secluded spot in the farmers market to try out the seeds together.

Upon finding a nice sitting area just outside of the farmers market within Postwick, Joseph sat down on a bench and took a deep breath as he waited for Ebony to settle down on the back of the bench. The Rookidee was chirping with anticipation at trying the seeds that her trainer had grabbed for them. Once Ebony landed on the back of the bench, Joseph started to open the bag of sunflower seeds that had no seasonings and started to take a handful of them before laying them on the seat of the bench next to him. He then reached up and held his hand out to Ebony. A soft smile coming to his face. The tiny bird pokemon hopped onto her trainer's hand, Twitching her head back and forth as he lowered her down to let her hop from his hand to the spot next to the seed pile. The Rookidee made happy chirps as she started to pick up a sunflower seed before eating it happily. Soft coos of contentment coming from her tiny body as she ate her seeds.
While Ebony enjoyed her sunflower seeds, Joseph took to trying the salted pumpkin seeds. Enjoying the lightly salted seeds made his cheeks flush as he popped a few of them into his mouth and chewed happily. The duo continued this until Ebony had finished off the pile of sunflower seeds that Joseph had given her. He then put the leftover bags of seeds into a pouch in his backpack and looked down at Ebony. Smiling gently as he reached over and lightly started to stroke her on her chest feathers.
The action seemed to be accepted as Ebony started making chirping calls of happiness at the affection. This made Joseph relax as he gave his pokemon some attention. The two sat there for a few minutes before Joseph lowered his hand from Ebony's feathered chest and smiled down at her. "We need to find a few more pokemon to fill up our team a bit. What do you say we go searching for some together??" he asked curiously as he smiled at the little Rookidee.
Ebony made happy calls as she started to flap her wings before lifting herself into the air and flying around Joseph's head. This made Joseph chuckle as he stood up and the two started to look for another pokemon to possibly recruit. Searching in the high grassy areas around Postwick, it didn't take them long to spot a wiggly little Blipbug that was nibbling on some leaves. Ebony and Joseph quickly initiated the tiny bug type into a battle, where the bug pokemon seemed to shoot sticky webs at Ebony. Causing her to slow down in her attempts at attacks. But at the end of all the action, Joseph had tossed the Pokeball after having knocked out the bug pokemon. The ball shook two times before it stopped and shined. This made Ebony sing happily as she circled the Pokeball in the air above it. Joseph chuckled at how happy Ebony was for her first battle together. Walking over he knelt down to grab the Pokeball before holding out his hand in a steady motion for Ebony to land on his finger. "You did amazing Ebony~" he said happily as he gently pulled her close to his face and gave her a little Eskimo kiss on the tip of her beak. This made Ebony fluff out of bashfulness before she started to sing happily and flapped her wings till she sat atop Joseph's head and nuzzled into the other chocolate brown locks. Joseph giggled slightly at how adorable the previously sassy bird pokemon was being before they started to search for a few more pokemon before heading back to wedgehurst town.

As the day started to get later and later, Joseph had decided to head back in the direction of Wedgehurst so he could get a nice room at the pokemon center before he continued on his journey. On his way back towards the direction of the Postwick Town gates, Joseph was looking around to see if he could get one more pokemon before calling it a night. So whenever he saw a pokemon he hadn't seen before, he tried his luck at catching it. though each attempt he tried, the pokemon got away before he had been able to toss the Pokeball. It seemed as he was nearing the gates, that he wouldn't be able to get one more pokemon, that was until his eyes landed on a Nickit just left of the town gates. His eyes sparkled as he was quick to start a battle with the pokemon. Ebony taking the lead once more as she flew overhead of the sly fox pokemon and dive-bombed it almost with peck attacks while the Nickit tried to attack back.
Once the pokemon was down, Joseph took a deep breath and threw a Pokeball at the passed out pokemon. Holding his breath as he waited to see if the Pokeball would stick this time around. Upon seeing the ball stop shaking, and the light shine from it, telling him the pokemon had been caught, he bounced on his heels almost as he looked up at Ebony who was chirping a song of happiness at having caught yet another companion. Retrieving the Pokeball, the Rookidee came to rest atop Joseph's head once more, nuzzling into her trainers silky chocolate brown hair as she seemed to be tired after such a day. Seeing this Joseph decided it was best to head back to Wedgehurst now and get a room at the center. He was tired out from the rough day himself.

✧✧【The walk from Wedgehurst to Postwick was mercifully short, though from the looks of it the latter was even smaller compared to the former if such a thing was even possible. Stretching out before them was a hodge podge of scattered rustic cottages and farmland, herds of Wooloo peacefully milling about in their pens with nary a care in the world. What really caught Eveline’s attention as they walked along the stone-walled pathways was a house that looked like it was practically a mansion in comparison and stood out like a sore thumb among the overgrown cottages.”I believe that’s where the Champion himself lives,”Lam offered when he noticed her staring. Ah, well that would make a lot of sense why this house seemed so obviously out of place compared to everything else here. With how much he parades around Galar in that ridiculous cape, you’d hardly even know he was a small town boy just from looks alone.

From the looks of it the only thing securing it was a simple-looking latch lock, one that could just as easily be undone by the hands of a curious child. Hell, it looked like it could even just be pushed open no problem if enough force was applied to it or bypassed through other means with a bit of acrobatic expertise without even having to worry about the lock at all. Childproof her a**. ”If they’re trying to keep people from going in there, sure seems like they’re doing a piss poor job of it,” she remarked as she vaulted herself over it, gesturing for her Pokemon to follow. Gin leapt up onto the moss-grown wall, his claws providing plenty of traction on the thick green padding as he strutted his way (fabulously) across it to the other side before dismounting. Tonic put her smaller size to good use as she easily squeezed her way underneath the gate, while Lam, being a Psychic type, naturally used his telekinesis to hover over it after doing a quick check to make sure no one else was around. Even if this was for the sake of looking for Wishing Stars, it still didn’t feel right to be so blatantly trespassing in a place that the locals clearly believed was dangerous… And likely for good reason, as he hoped they wouldn’t find out for themselves…】✧✧

Luckily for them, it seemed the traffic along the main path through Postwick wasn’t particularly heavy this time of day as it looked like no one else had seen them go into the Slumbering Weald nor come out of it. Jeez, their security when it came to this place really did suck…”Let’s hope we don’t have to go back in there again after that… Trespassing in a place like that could’ve been risky,”Lam huffed as he carefully let go of Eve’s hand so they could make their exit across the gate in the same fashion as they’d entered,”If nothing else we ought to count ourselves lucky no one saw us…”The redhead silently agreed, brushing away any dust or loose leaves that may have gathered on her coat. She still wasn't sure what it was she'd seen out there in that mist, but she felt she could live comfortably enough with never having to go back again to find out for herself.
”Well it’s certainly good that we aren’t, zee next star location iz out in the Wild Area from ze looks of it,” Eve spoke up as she pulled up the flyer to check. And sure enough, the next area closest to them where Wishing Stars had reportedly been seen was in the Wild Area, not even that far away from the train station and ‘Meetup Spot’ either. Of course, it’d be much easier for them to just fly out there than take the train, speaking of which… She quickly pulled out her Rotom phone to check for any messages she might’ve gotten while she was out in the forest. There were a couple new messages to her from Zenzi and a slew of messages from Zane, likely wondering where she was since she hadn’t shown up at their house yet. She opened Zenzi’s first, typing out a response as she read over the texts.

Laughing aloud as she read the final message from Zenzi, Eveline then opened up the conversation with Zane. She figured she’d kept him in the dark long enough, in hindsight she probably should’ve let him know she’d be running a bit behind. Truth be told she probably had spent all of maybe... twenty minutes walking to Postwick, into the Slumbering Weald, and back out again. Then again he was a bit more of a worry wart compared to his sister, not that she could really blame him all things considered. She skimmed over a lot of the earlier messages up until he started sending multiple texts of ‘Are you okay?’ and ‘Where are you?’ and began typing.

She’d have a good deal to have to explain to Zane when they finally met up with him since he’d no doubt ask her why she went out to Postwick instead of just coming right to their house after leaving the lab. And he’d most likely be even more worried about why she went into the Slumbering Weald of all places given how dangerous it apparently was. When she arrived, Sable immediately saw that the path ahead split into two forks for trainers to travel. One was a straight shot to Postwick proper, while the other was a meandering path through several patches of tall grass. "Welp, most pokemon hide in tall grass, so... That-a-way," the teen mumbled to herself as she started down the more meandering path. Ideally it wouldn't be too long before something popped out to battle the teen and her fresh team. They were going to need quite a bit of training if they wanted to really go anywhere useful.

As luck would have it, a loud, high-pitched screech turned the teen's attention to... Some... Little caterpillar pokemon. A very loud little caterpillar pokemon as it let out another high-pitched, echoey screech. "Yeow! What is that?" Sable asked loudly as she covered her ears from the noise. "A -bzzrt- blipbug! They're supposedly very -zzzrt- smart for for a bug pokemon, even gaining psychic powers in -bzzz- later evolutions! ...The entries aren't saying anything about how -bzzrt- loud they are, though," Impulse summarized, cranking up the volume a bit so his trainer could still hear him past her attempts at blocking out the blipbug's screeches.
Sable frowned as she lowered a hand to grab one of the balls on her belt, wincing as the bug pokemon let out yet another high-pitched shout. "Ooookay, that's enough of the yelling. Cobalt, you're up!" As she spoke, the teen tossed out the ball containing her newest partner. The pokeball popped open and out came the rookidee that had apparently been dubbed Cobalt by his new trainer. "Let's try giving it a good peck!" Sable instructed, eliciting a chirp from the small bird pokemon as it flew over to jab at the caterpillar. One solid hit was all it took to knock the blipbug back and get it to quiet down. Defeated, the bug pokemon retreated back into the tall grass.

"Now come back for a rest." When the beam of light shot out though, rather than its target the laser hit dirt as the rookidee hopped out of the way. "Rook!" he chirped in defiance as he continued to hop around. "Ah, c'mon. We've got more training to do!" Yet again Sable tried to recall the bird, and yet again he dodged her attempts. "Rook! Dee rooki!""-bzzt- He says he thinks there's something here," Impulse explained helpfully. "Oh... Alright then, let's take a look.""Rooki!" With that Sable and Cobalt started searching, but for what the teen had no idea.

Sable and Cobalt continued to look for whatever it was that got the blue bird pokemon's attention while Impulse hovered nearby. Cobalt alternated between hops and short bursts of flight while Sable had gotten onto her hands and knees since it seemed whatever her pokemon was looking for, it was on the ground. "It'd be nice if he'd give us some sort of idea what we're looking for..." Sable muttered as she crawled over to check the grassy patch nearby... Then let out a startled yelp and fell backwards onto her butt as another blipbug started screeching, this time right in her face. "Sable! Are -zzt- you okay?!" she heard Impulse call out as she grabbed Proto's ball off her belt. "Y-yeah, fine. Just another blipbug," she assured the ghost as she let out Proto. "Nothing we can't handle."
Again the blipbug gave another shout, but this time it actually had some oomph to it as orbs of lime-green energy darted out to strike a target... Which happened to be Proto. A solid hit, but thankfully the artificial pokemon's metal casing was for more than just show. "Start off with a barrage!" Sable commanded, and this time the cybun didn't hesitate before opening its mouth and firing off several metallic pellets. Not that it did much good, since only a couple of pellets actually hit the small opponent. "Don't let up, follow up with a quick attack!" It was almost like the rabbit had teleported, as fast as the teen could blink Proto had gone from right in front of her to where the blipbug had been. As for where the bug had gone? Knocked back further into the grass. For a brief moment there was some rustling, but the sound soon faded as the caterpillar probably went to hide.

Sable chuckled as the rustling faded to nothing. "Great job Proto! Now come here a moment," The teen said as she knelt down and shrugged her bag off of her shoulder. "Let's get you healed up." For a moment Sable dug through her pack before pulling out one of the spray bottles she had been given earlier. Looking up from the bag, she could see that the cybun... Had not moved from the spot it was sitting. Its nose was pointed towards the sky and twitching, to the point that if they had been any other kind of pokemon Sable would have wondered if Proto caught a scent of some sort. "...Proto? C'mon, come over here," she tried to coax, holding the hand not holding the spray bottle out to the artificial pokemon. This time it got the cybun's attention and the small robot hopped over to its trainer. "There we go... Now hold still a moment..." Sable set about spraying the healing liquid onto the various damaged areas and was surprised to see the scratches and dent in the first patch she sprayed was already almost fully repaired by the time she finished spraying the last damaged section. "...Wow... This stuff really does work fast..." the teen muttered to herself as she tucked the empty spray bottle back into her pack. No sense in littering after all.

As Sable watched Proto study its rapidly-healing wounds, shrill chirping would distract them both. "Rooki! Rooki rook rookidee!""Looks -zzt- like our new friend found what he was -bzz- after," Impulse relayed helpfully as the rookidee continued to call out. "Okay, I'll be right over," Sable called out as she stood, giving Proto a pat on the head before straightening up. Walking over to where the chirping was coming from, the teen stifled a giggle when she saw Cobalt flapping his wings furiously as he struggled to try and take off with something in his talons. Something that seemed to be either too heavy or too lodged into the ground for the small bird. "Move over a bit Cobalt, let me try," Sable said as she knelt down again, giving the little blue tennis ball bird a pat on the head. Cobalt attempted to tilt his head but more ended up tilting his whole body as he looked up at the teen with some confusion. It took a moment for Sable to realize... "Oh! Right, I forgot to tell you. We figured Cobalt would be a good name for you, so we'd been calling you that. Is that alright?" The bird pokemon considered it a moment before flapping his wings and hopping, giving some cheerful chirps of approval. "Dee! Rooki rook!"
Grinning and nodding, Sable gave the bird pokemon another pat on the head. "Good, it's settled then. So..." The teen then motioned towards whatever the object was that Cobalt was still standing on. Hard to tell with the color of the dirt, but there was a rock slightly off in color embedded in the ground. "Huh, this?" the teen asked as she found a good spot to grab hold before prying it up out of the ground. Almost immediately Cobalt's excitement grew, chirping loudly as he took off and circled his trainer. "Rooki ki ki rookidee!""Huh... He says it's -zrrt- useful... That it helps pokemon grow quicker..." Impulse summarized as they floated over. "The pokedex also has -zzt- item info in it... Let me get a -bzz- scan." Sable nodded at the rotom's offer and held the rock out so that the poltergeist could get a good look with the device. "...Hm... Well there's -zzrt- no match in the pokedex... But the rock's definitely got -bzzrt- some sort of energy signature..." the pokemon concluded.

Sable held a hand to her chin in thought, partially covering her mouth with her fingers as she did so. "Hm... Let me give it a try..." the teen muttered as she pulled out her P*DA. "If nothing else I can compare it to our mineral database.""Ooh, -zzzt- good idea! ...But what if it's -zzt- not in there either?" The rotom's question earned him a brief glance before Sable went back to watching her device's screen. "Hmm... Wasn't it Uncle Arty who was working with some of the more sciencey types? Analysis and all that? Can always send the info and ask if he can check it out. I'm pretty sure dad has his number..." As the teen mulled over the idea, she frowned as the scan finished up. From what little she could understand of it the readings were sorta similar to some of the evolution stones listed, but nothing actually matched. "Right, Uncle Arty it is then." Sable snapped a pic of the rock and started composing a message... Then paused. "...Oh, I was supposed to message my mom when I got to Galar... Uh... Dad can pass that along too," she muttered sheepishly as she started typing.

Hey, sorry about not messaging when I should have but I'm safe and sound here in Galar and doing great! I've got my trainer registration done and already caught a pokemon! I haven't turned in my endorsement yet though, I'm still doing some training around Postwick Town before I head up to Motostoke. The pokemon on the way up there are supposed to be a bit tougher, so I wanted to make sure Proto could handle the fighting first.
Also, I (well, Cobalt, my new teammate) found this weird rock when I was training. It's not in any of the item indexes, and it's not in the mineral database either. It's giving off some sort of energy reading though, so there's gotta be some reason my new partner was so worked up over it. I've attached a picture, the readings, and the mineral composition scan to this message, so could you pass them along to Uncle Arty? I know he's busy but he usually gets excited over this sort of stuff doesn't he?
Anyway, I'm off to train more and maybe catch another pokemon or two!
After looking over the message two or three more times, Sable hit send and put her P*DA back into sleep mode. "Okay, message sent! Now to get back to- huh?" Looking around, it seemed someone had gone missing. "...Where did Cobalt go?""Oh, -zzz- he flew off ahead," Impulse explained. Sable nodded as she pocketed her device, then folded her arms across her chest. "Oh, okay, that makes- Wait... Ahead to where exactly?" Worry crossed the teen's face as she watched the rotom floating nearby. "Something fell from the -zzt- sky and landed near here while you were -bzz- texting. We figured you would want to check it out so he flew -zzrt- southwest to go try and find it.""Southwest... Isn't that towards the forest? On the edge of town?" Now the teen was frowning. From what she had read in the brochure, that place was supposed to be haunted or something... But she couldn't just let one of her partners go there alone. "Alright then, let's just try not to get caught by one of the townsfolk. That place is supposed to be off limits or something," Sable said as she made her way back to the main path to the town.

Even though the cold mists were well behind her, Sable still shuddered as she reached the forest's exit. "Let's not do that again... At least not anytime soon," she said as she looked around. It seemed someone had re-latched the gate, but since no one was nearby at the moment it wasn't an issue to just... Open it again and slip past, this time closing it behind her and latching it back up again. "Hopefully no more stars fall in there, with all that mist I can see why the locals don't want people messing around in there," the teen muttered mostly to herself as she made her way back up the path to the town proper. "It'd be easy to get lost in there..." The teen shuddered again as she passed through, taking the straightest path to Wedgehurst in relative silence.
