It was time. It had taken longer than expected for the eggs to show signs of hatching, but at the sounds of dragons humming there was no denying it. C’vi had beamed and backed off from his position. He’d been checking the eggs again. Warm, oval, alive—and hatching!
He knew M’nick was sitting somewhere—he’d offered him the clutch mother seat so he could sit with M’deck. “It’s time,” he said, giddily. Finally. A surge of excitement and nervousness went through him. What would the hatchlings be like? Would they be healthy? Happy?
They’ll be perfect, Oximath assured him. The green had no such concerns. They’d better hurry. These eggs won’t wait any longer.
OOC Rules - If you believe that your post has been missed, please PM the writer of the egg/dragon to let them know. - Do not harass writers. They have lives and can't be replying every hour on the hour. - Do not dictate how dragons will react to your character, this is for the writer to decide. - NPC eggs will be available for adoption after their impression. Their impressions will be clearly marked. - You will be PM'd your dragon's personality at impression.
IC Rules - These rules can be broken, but remember IC actions have IC consequences. - There are THREE greens on the sands, please be respectful to all. - Bow to the clutchmother(s) when entering the sands. - No running, shouting or being disruptive. This will likely spook hatchlings and cause you to be injured. - Do not approach a dragonet or egg unless asked. - No firelizards on the sands.

The sound of humming reached Gwyn as she was eating. It was a curious sound, to be sure, but unmistakable. So... it was time!
With a last, decisive bite of her bread, Gwyn arose and hurried off to change.
Slipping into the long, white Candidate's robe, she took a moment to run her fingers through her hair as well. She didn't know if the hatchlings would notice, or care, if someone showed up looking like a disaster... but the people there certainly would! Besides, this could well be the most important day of her life, no WAY was she going to walk out there a mess!
Glancing around to make sure everything was still in order, she nodded slightly to herself and left, hurrying towards the hot Sands.
Upon her arrival, she stopped briefly at the entrance to once more be sure that she was presentable. Some of the others clearly weren't... shells, had that one guy even bothered to make sure his robe was on the right way? She snorted at his disheveled appearance, and made her way onto the Sands.
As her eyes sought out and found the six eggs, her excitement and nervousness grew in equal portions. Bowing to both of the clutch mothers who's children would be Impressing today, she made her obeisance to the third green as well. It would have been extremely rude to ignore her, and if she failed today chances were that she would be presenting herself to this expectant mother's clutch as well.

Cyrilla's eyes lit up as the sound of draconic humming reached her ears. At last!
Completely abandoning what she'd been doing, she swiftly made her way back to her room and snatched the required robe from the wall. She grinned to herself as she donned the garment, imagining how her sister might react. Would she be disappointed because she wasn't special enough to have a dragon? Or would she be trying to hide as far back in the stands as possible, so she wouldn't be eaten?
Wasting no time, Cy hurried off to the sands. With a bow for the greens present, she joined the other candidates. Not that any of them mattered, really.
This was her time to shine!
---------------
Meana didn't quite catch the sound, at first. However, seeing the reactions of those around her clued her in that something was happening. She'd been enjoying her meal, but when she saw one girl sitting at an adjacent table leave, and others began to get excited, she wondered. What was going on? Was there a problem?
Laying down her fork, she rose, just as the sound made itself known to her. Oh! Wasn't that supposed to mean that the eggs were about to hatch? That explained why everyone was excited! And the girl who'd left was probably a candidate, small wonder she'd left in a hurry!
Once, the prospect of even seeing a dragon would have left her a quivering mess. And certainly, her first sight of one up close had been frightening. They were just so big, and they had supposedly been one of the smaller ones! But now, having not only ridden one with Cy to get here, but been around them since, with nothing bad happening, her anxiety had waned.
So as she approached the sands, she took a moment to respectfully bow to each of the three greens in turn, before hurrying towards the stands and claiming a seat in the front. She was actually going to see a hatching!

V' & Lithustoth
It was a very odd feeling, lying on the sands with her still-soft eggs carefully mantled under her wing at the same time as she picked up her daughters' welcoming hum to their first clutches. Odd, but wonderful. A new generation of dragons would soon join them in the world - Heimalth and Oximath had every reason to be proud, and so did she.
As spectators and candidates began to hurry in she turned her crackling voice to her daughters', her usually rather harsh tones merely tingly and warm today as she said; I can't wait to see your hatchlings.
And that was her cue to move, she guessed. V' slid down from Lithustoth's back, gave her dragon a quick pat, and headed towards the stands; she could probably justify staying with Lith but it felt rude somehow. Not that V' usually gave a s**t about being rude of course but Lith wanted everything to be perfect for this hatching, and she definitely wasn't going to go spoiling that.
______________
V'lon & Mirath
They're hatching V'lon - let's go!
V'lon grinned, dropped the leathers he'd been working on repairing, and hastened to join his dragon.
Less than a minute later they swooped into the hatching cavern; Mirath alighted on a suitable perch and scanned the line of white-robed candidates for Verria. Being a dragon of course he didn't have to lay eyes on her before sending; Good luck Darling, your father and I are rooting for you! He adds; 'Good luck Kid', and a hug too.
V'lon sent his dragon a feeling of appreciation as he found his own place in the Stands and scanned for- Ha, there she was! The bluerider beamed down at his daughter and gave her a wave.
______________
S'var & Nemanath
The atmosphere around a green hatching was no less intense than what he was used to around gold hatchings a mixture of celebration, hope, and the palpable nerves pouring off the cluster of candidates. As S'var claimed a seat for himself in the stands Nemanath reached out to Varella, Vasilir, and Corrine. Good fortune to you all, we will see you on the other side.
With only six eggs and many candidates S'var would be extremely surprised if all three of candidate grandchildren Impressed today but that didn't mean he wasn't hoping for it. Wouldn't it be something if they Impressed every single egg from one of the clutches?
