The spire has undergone some changes in the last five years. Brick and mortar replaced with steel and marble. The spire has gained the ability to float freely through the village via a similar enchantment given to the village which suspends it. It now bearing metallic appendages on which allow it to land on the ground while the village itself remains suspended. Indeed the Spire has become its own mobile structure, albeit unable to stray too far from the village itself less it start to be unable to return.

Consisting of now ten floors the entire spire is somewhat of marvel, no longer does one need to even bother themselves with stairs as a chakra elevator in the center of the spire now functions to essentially guide people up and down the many floors. It only when those that take this elevator realize the spires floors are...well areas of entertainment and leisure as opposed to business.

•Floor 1: Entertainment Hall: The entertainment hall is essentially filled with festival games, play places, and entertainment technology. What's incredibly popular on this floor, however, is children's card games. Visitors will often leave their children here under the watchful eye of security and security cameras. Its a well-known deterrent for many nin and officers alike that if they aren't doing whats expected of them they are given shifts in the Entertainment Hall.
•Floor 2: Nursery: The nursery is the floor many parents will leave their younger children in the hands of childcare and pediatric specialists. It is a place that can keep toddlers entertained.
•Floor 3-6: Casino Floors: The Casino floors all of which are home to roulette and slots along with a variety of other gambling devices and games. Frequented often their security is of the highest class.
•Floors 7-8: Meeting Rooms: Consisting of six soundproof meeting rooms on each floor. One can access the meeting room hallway to gain access to the restrooms, however, the doors of meeting rooms will only open to those who have been given the permissions to open them. These seals are technological in nature as opposed to using fuuinjutsu
•Floor 9: Kage's Leisure Suite: The Kage's Leisure consists of one roulette table, one dealing table, a dartboard, a grand piano, a velvet love seat, a personal hot spring, and a personal bar. Through the window, one can overlook the entire village. Jazz music seems to play constantly. This room always seems to have a relaxing atmosphere. Several self-portraits of the kage fill this room, he didn't agree to this however, the contractor was insistent, they're covered by a velvet curtain with a rope that's never if ever been pulled. Only the door to the leisure suite is visible when exiting the elevator and only opens in response to the kage.
•Floor 10: Kage's Office and Waiting Room: The Office, A mahogany desk, and a view that can inspire. The waiting room is large spherical room with several chairs and a minibar that serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Notes:
- The Spire has no weapons aside its massive size

- The Spire is powered by the villages ambient energy thus it can only land in the thread that the village is currently above.

- The Spire is treated to have S-rank level endurance when it comes taking damage externally. Internally, however, its the same as any other building

Shion ascended the floors of the tower, occasionally looking down at a missive she received from the Kage... well... Kages. A lot had changed in the 5 years since the battle of Seizan: Shiro's retirement, the mass exodus of shinobi around the world, the founding of new villages. To some it was a breath of fresh air, a sign of better things to come; Shion was not one of those people. The sudden shift still loomed over her even after all this time. This new village, this new empire... so many mixed emotions. Sure, it was still a part of the Lighting Country, it was ruled by former kumo shinobi, and many of her friends resided in the same village, but something was just off. She had sworn an oath to serve Kumo. She fought, she killed, she almost died... for Kumo. This new forward base, this Arashigakure. Would she be willing to do the same for it? Only time would tell. Right now, she had more pressing matters on the docket; chief among them being the aforementioned summon from the Kage. Shion continued to scale the many floors, mulling over what they could have possibly wanted to see her, a lowly chuunin with a mediocre at best record? Sure, she had a pattern of tackling opponents much stronger than her and coming out on top, but that was years ago. Lately, it had been basic recon missions and the occasional bandit scuffle; Shion hadn't had a real fight in years. Maybe it was to be reprimanded. Even after five years and further training, Shion was still prone to getting into trouble. It was never anything serious though. A few fights, some property damage from said fights, but never anything for a personal summon from the Kage. Before her mind could continue to think up scenarios, Shion found herself at the door to the office. Readying herself with a few deep breaths, Shion knocked three times and entered the room.

So many tumultuous years. Jeon wasn't in the best of moods on this day, and it was showing in how she was working from her position, hanging by one crooked leg from a bar that hung for that purpose in the office. Below her, Jay was in a far more relaxed state, at least visually. He sat on the bench he claimed as his Kage's chair, carved from obsidian with decorations and the Chinese symbol for monkey embroidered just beside the kanji for storm. He looked up from his paperwork for only a brief moment, making eye contact with the other half of his leadership. She shook her head, arm's crossed below her chest and the more loose parts of her clothing hanging and casting long, draping shadows from the morning sun behind them. Jay looked down and scribbled down their signature anyway which garnered a harsh, curt sigh from her. She rolled free from her position, gracefully landing to set on the bench facing out the window. "Jay..." she offered but he held up a hand to her, not to silence but to ask for a second. "No, you need to listen to me. I hate this." Jay lowered his hand, putting the sheet of paper away before acknowledging her.

"You may have mentioned that," he replied softly. A low growl escaped from her throat, matched by silence from Jay.

"I don't like being here, stuck in the Spire all day, divvying out the work to others." Jay moved one of his long strands of stray hair from his face, staring at the shadow his own body cast over his desk. It covered everything from new ninja dossiers, to the pictures of his family, the love of his life and the newborn baby they cradled together. He closed his eyes, allowing his mind to wander away from there, to imagine what her day would be filled with. No doubt, she was already hard at work in the hospital, giving ninja mental evaluations and helping victims of trauma in that special way that only she could. Likewise, he looked to the image of Kaneo and Jeon, darkened in the shade. His imagination found vivid imagery of one of his top agents and brother in law out in the country tracking threats with the backing of Osiris. He would likely be firing an arrow without having to move his head, piercing the back of the Daimyo's advanced guard by now, putting the next of several nails in their coffin. A deep breath exhaled, reflecting as he so often did as his position as the Shadow that defended Storms. The administrative duties were more often his work than hers.

"It takes a toll on me as well, sister. You know that." He turned his eyes on her, prepared to go on and counter scold her until he saw it. The spark in her starry, dark chocolate eyes.

Jeon saw the world so differently. From the spire, she could see so much of the village. The wide open window allowed her to see to the gates, the first line of defense for her people and the gateway to the great beyond. Out there, somewhere among those mountains and flatlands, was her heart. She gripped at the bench with one hand, allowing the other to twirl at locks of her own beautiful hair. Everytime he left, she worried he would not be coming back to her in one piece, or even worse. She so wished to be out there with him, to be crushing skulls that housed a brain that would dare harbor ill will for him or her home. She could see to the Gust district, almost able to hear it if she focused hard enough. The commotion was good, it was where she felt at home. Her heart beat constantly only because she had so much to defend. With a small turn of her head, reorienting of the globes in her skull, her eyes rested on the farms where her people lived and worked, finally free of oppression, finally free from poverty, finally... free. She took the weight of all those ninja who had seen too much war and death just as much as Mizuki did when she dealt with them face to face because she had become the person who sent them out. She stood, letting her own shadow meld with her brothers as she put her hands on his shoulder. The dynamic was interesting, with Jay who had his back to the window overseeing everyone and Jeon who was looking out over it all wanting desperately to be on the frontline. "It isn't right that we send others to do our dirty work." Jay put his hand on hers.

"It isn't. But we cannot leave the village unprotected. It is ours to defend, Shiro trusted it to US. We cannot afford to be out there all the time." Jay didn't sound tired, but rather as though he was belaboring the point she already knew. She sighed, prepared to let it go as she turned to sit and help him with work. The paper he had signed off on were orders for border patrols with orders to begin scouting. Safety was once more becoming a concern. With the ninja of Otogakure, and the ninja of Kirigakure as well, he had a lot of people to defend, and Jeon would have the hard job of organizing them now that it was a sure fire thing that they'd be making some more offensive actions.

Secretly both of them wished they didn't have to at all.

When the knock came, Jeon and Jay both looked up to see the door was already opening, and none other but Shion, the former problem child, made herself known. "Shion!" Jeon called out, smiling her toothy smile as Jay gave a less wide version and a nod of the head. She would motion for him to come in and have a seat. "Shut the door behind you," Jay called moving his eyes back to his paperwork. When she did have a seat in one of the chairs before the office, he would produce her dossier without even looking. "Sorry to have you here so early; we have to get one-on-ones in when we have time. Well, two-on-ones anyway. We actually are here to give you a performance review. Usually we get some jounin or konin around the village to handle that buuuuuuuut," Jeon trailed off, nudging Jay out of his busywork. Jay would lifted his head, closing the other books and shuffling papers aside. He sat the document before the chuunin, her own dossier, and began flipping through it for all to see. "We're giving special consideration to you for a chance to join the Oinin and Anbu corps." Jay let the offer hang for a moment, Jeon moving to go from sitting to perching on the edge of the bench with her knees brought up under her chin. "You've done well, and similar to us, your history is spotted with both blemishes and diamonds. It isn't so much the record that matters though. More to the point is that you have the spark in you that we look for in all of our recruits. You've been under surveillance for a long time, on the order of months, and I believe that among your tenacity and..." Jay looked to Jeon, who smirked. "And hardheaded determination that you'd do well among them. Now. Before we go forward, I need to know something." Jeon sprung up, landing on the desk between Shion and Jay, who went back to his paperwork. "You think you're up for it?" She would lean in close, almost uncomfortably so, ignoring a snicker from Jay. The ball was now in Shion's court.

Shion was puzzled, almost blown away, by the way the Twins presented themselves. You mean to tell her the kage didn't have to be a stern-faced, melodramatic dictator? Wary of what was to come, Shion met the pair of smiles with a cocked, inquisitive eyebrow as she made her way into the office. Their choice in decorum was certainly interesting, but it offered very little in the way of comfort. Taking a seat on the closest thing that could be considered a chair, Shion prepared herself for the worst. Shion nodded along, scrunching her mouth up to one side and eyes half shut in a very unenthused "why am I here?" expression, as Jeon went about her pleasantries; then she said those words... those two words Shion did not want to here: Performance Review. Oh boy, this was it. What did she do this time? Breaking rules of engagement? Fighting other chuunin? Or maybe it was something stupid like not buttoning her flack jacket. Shion began to roll her eyes when suddenly, Jay's voice brought a surprise that knocked the adolescent angst right off of Shion's face. This must have been a mistake. Anbu? They were the best of the best, the village elite. Each one was a one man army charged with the defense of the village. Who in their right mind would suggest Shion for such a role. This was a dream come true for her; a chance to move up in the village, to surpass those who looked down on her. Some trouble-making burnout from a small logging town, making it big in the new capitol? She couldnt resist... but it didn't feel right. Something was off. Still blown away by the offer, Shion began to stammer over herself as she tried to formulate a response. "Anbu? No, that... what? I'm not... why would you want... I'm just a... The girl's stammering was suddenly cut off by a very, very up-close encounter by Jeon. Shion's large, hazel eyes gleamed as she stared at one half of the village Kages. Her thoughts raced again, as was their prerogative. Should I do it? No, i couldn't, I'm just some brat from the boonies. Man, she is really close. I could totally kiss her. No, don't be stupid. You're being stupid. You got this, look at where you are. Look at where you started. I will not throw away my shot! yes... Anbu... do it! Shion's mouth slowly opened and she leaned in, further closing the gap between the two. "Do you know who I am? Of course I'm up for it"

__ The day he was dispatched to Seizan to see the carnage left by the UHV was truly the moment when it all changed. He fought well in the war against the UHV in the name of justice and by the command of the Raikage. The Land of Lightning was thrown into absolute chaos with the daimyo's assassination and the mass displacement of many shinobi and citizens. Kenshin spent years performing his duties in policing to the letter as he worked tirelessly under Jay and Jeon to bring order to Arashigakure. This was a new home of their own making and through Kenshin's tenacity, he contributed to its lawful establishment. Kenshin was uncomfortable bending to these winds of change. He had to follow the order to rebel against the daimyo, fight in a war against the UHV, make the long march to Arashigakure, and aid the settling of the new village. He felt a sense of relief that it was all coming down to a semblance of routine. Over time and through his relentless efforts he climbed his way up to Jounin and was admitted to the elite ANBU Police Force as an initiate. His goals were finally being realized through his hard work.

He climbed the stairs of the Spire which towered over the entire village and housed the Arashikages. Kenshin wholly accepted their authority since Arashigakure's very beginnings. Throughout the years he had seen them sacrifice it all for their home. He truly believed in these leaders and was proud to serve them. Once he reached the summit of the tower, he stood outside of the open door to the office. The Jounin was there to answer their summons and briefly glanced at Shion and the twin leaders. Kenshin made his presence known but politely waited out of earshot of whatever it was they were discussing. The police officer wore his police uniform which was dark blue with a black cloak and tall black boots. His belt contained handcuffs, a truncheon, and a pure white rapier which rested on his left hip. The rapier's blade had a cloud carving from Shiro when he granted Kenshin permission to become a genin and a rookie for the KPD. The blade had been improved by Kenshin since then. In a gloved hand, he held a letter containing a detailed plan that he had written some time ago and now seemed to be the perfect time to present it to the village leaders after speaking with him about whatever the matter at hand would be. "Hopefully the Arashikages grant me further law enforcement capabilities and agree with my plan." He could only hope to have his ambitions for justice and order realized soon enough.

A likely familiar sound may have graced the ears of Kenshiro who was doing his most honorable to prevent eavesdropping. "Bloop." A man familiar to what was once Kumogakure now Arashigakure. It was doubtful Kenshiro would be remembered in regards to Seizan and the vise versa. After all their interaction was but a single conversation in an attempt to instill morale among him and his then companions. Unless his words actually meant anything to him at that time they would have all likely been forgotten as Toso had little presence on the field what so ever having accompanied the medical group as there support. A support which was scarce needed but a role was played nonetheless.

In his hands a paper bag that emanated the scent of meat, spices, and freshness. Steam slowly rose from its confines upwards. Reaching into the bag the man would remove a finely wrapped bun giving two to the acting secretaries who smiled and gave warm thanks to the face that was ever still and wistful. The peace times certainly had its affect on the squid man who pursued his career as a chef and to the villages knowledge he was one of hefty renown especially in regards to seafood...ah, but never octopus or squid. Kitchens have been razed at such requests. Some say the rumor was it was just such a request that wrecked the 'then' edible creations.

It was hard to believe the man was a nin of any sort let alone a jounin, he carried no dignified stance about him, if anything he was stiff with a face still as hard to read as it was five years ago but just a little more worn with time. Today was Toso's 'off' day. Seeing as the need for skilled shinobi around the clock was lessened it peace times what with the skill of the villages police force handling most disputes. They likely had their leader to thank for that. He signification of it being a lax day for him the fact he only carried his large brush upon his back and not his trademark coat that hid his face. He wore but a simple pair of black slacks and loose white collared shirt. He'd come a long way from groping boobies indiscriminately. At least if he were to do it now it would be with class.

Now for the real reason Tosokurui found himself in the office. It was a simple act of kindness. He just wanted to make sure the acting kage's had eaten, and get out of the house. Suffice to say he'd notice Kenshiro, and while he didn't remember him from Seizan he did remember him via his status and contributions to the village. "Ah, bloop, Officer Kenshiro. Fancy seeing you here. Would you happen to be hungry bloop. I've made quite the tidy sum. bloop." The aroma that emitted from the bag would be a tantalizing one, less of course the man was vegetarian. In which case it would likely make him ill.

Reaching into the paper bag Toso would remove a finely wrapped bun for the officer, one that would only reflect the title of an 'Iron Chef' when consumed. The squid mans hand that provided the offering bearing not one but two rings. A wedding band. Had Kenshiro attended the mans wedding? Toso's parents had certainly made sure that everyone who was 'anyone' was invited much to their sons own detest, and if Kenshiro had attended said wedding the only memorable thing about it would have been just how small it was...and the fact Toso's wife punched her own bridesmaid for 'gawking at her man' and then her husband getting suplexed into the punch bowl for..well absolutely no reason.

A young girl entered the spire with a frown upon her small face. She had finally been accepted to the Academy and would be beginning her classes soon. Of course while her birth mother had been sure to make time for her daughter over such an occasion her other mother had not. To that matter neither had father. It was due to that, but also the lack of any kind of reception at the gates that she was so displeased. The Arashikage's daughter comes to the village for the first time in a while and they couldn't have an escort waiting for her at the gates? The nerve, she had to actually walk here by herself. Up the stairs her tiny heels clacked until she reached the upper floors. It was there that she spied two older men, one she knew through stories told by her mother. Though she also knew him by his rather distinct look. Small circular glasses and fair hair. He was Tosokurui, the bloop-nin.

His presence made her shiver slightly in fear. Their size difference alone might have been somewhat intimidating but stories of how he could vanish into the ground and reappear elsewhere were far more terrifying. That and the fact that he had several tentacles on his body... that alone was creepy enough. Really the man was kind of like her own personal boogeyman. Doing her best to silently walk past the two men she barged her way into the Kage's office receptionist be damned.

Inside the kage's office was father and other mother, as well as an older girl that Yuno was unfamiliar with. "Father! Did you forget what day it is? How could you not at least send an escort to greet me!" Her tone was charged with indignation and righteousness. Clearly the girl believed herself important enough to be met at the gates by the kage themselves. For one so small she certainly seemed to pack a lot of verbal presence. "And who's this? Is she more important to you than me?" There was a dark glint in her eye, one that suggested she might try something less than righteous depending on the answer given.

"Actually, we do know who you are. Before we initiate you, however, there are some things we need you to do." Jeon would roll backwards across the desk, pushing up after a backwards somersault in an acrobatic show of flexibility and balance. She pushed off, rolling further back to sit upon the bar over their desk. Jay looked back up again, passing two sheets of paper to the chuunin. "You will need to take an apprenticeship with the people from the land of Swamp down in the Drop District. While you learn to tend the land and make your body stronger, I'm going to expect you'll learn about basic field herbs and the like. Things that will help you survive." Jeon would stop, allowing Jay to continue. "In addition, youll need to take up an apprenticeship in the medical sector. Field medicine, basic anatomy, and how to manipulate the body are important for a hunter nin and the military police." Before they could continue any further, however, the door opened causing Jeon and Jay to flicker their eyes at Toso and Kenshin.

Which of those two had just barged in like that? It was entirely out of character for them to do such a thing, which was why they immediately furrowed their brows and went to admonish them. That, ofcourse, was before the tiny terrorist made her voice known. The two of them immediately relaxed, with Jay putting pressure on the bridge of his nose as a sparkle appeared in her eyes. She poised on the edge of the high hanging bar, springing forth to a bar not too unlike a stripper pole and whirling around it from the far corner. She flung herself from it, with an S+ speed tackle. She would have snatched Yuno safely in her arms, rolling along the pathway to land on a couch with the girl cradled in her arms and legs. "SON YUNO!" she would coo. "Oh my love, you've gotten so big!" She would move again, fast and far too strong for the girl to break the grip she had around her upper torso as she flung herself and her precious cargo, once more, to the cold metal bar she so enjoyed hanging from. Much like before, the inner crook of her knee held the two in place, upside down, holding Yuno so that she could see her second-mother-aunt.

From below, Jay reached up a hand, smiling at the girl softly, seeing those oddly colored eyes that still looked so much more like Mizuki's than his own. His heart grew heavy both because he did in fact know what day it was, and because he hadn't seen Mizuki in weeks; Jay and Jeon rarely went home because one of them could sleep for both of them. So much needed doing all the time, he had honestly been neglectful. His hand would move right past the girl, breaking Jeon's grip and catching the would be falling Academy Student in his lap safely, and right side up. "I'm sorry, Yuno. I've a shortage of ninja who aren't Toso, and also aren't busy, and an entire country to defend. It slipped my mind. But... congrats on your entry to the academy. Son Huo will be so happy you've started the shinobi path." He referenced one of the monkeys, all of whom were quite fond of the baby girl.

With a wave, he would motion for Tosokuri and Kenshin both to enter, the scecnt of food making his and Jeon's neckhairs stand on end. "Shion, Toso, Kenshiro, I would like you both to meet one of our children. This is Son Yuno. Beyond being a damned sometimes, she can be pretty cute sometimes." He'd said brat in his native tongue, something only the three of them would understand, but it was there none the less. Jeon had her eyes focused on the paper bag in Toso's hands. "Shion is about to be a very special ninja in the village, something I'd like to see you aspire to, Yuno." Kenshiro and Toso, upon entering, would find two chairs beside Shion to sit in. "So, is the business the two of you have for us today sensitive? Or is this just a fun visit?" With the question in the air, the twins would await the hailstorm of responses coming their way.

Shion was immediately off put by Yuno; then again, who didn't she have an immediately negative disposition towards? This was her big moment, the time when all her hard work was finally paying off. Who was this twerp to come in and ask if she was special. No, no... calm down, Shion; you're overreacting. With a slow and steady breath, Shion silently mouthed counting to three then looked to the little girl. Twisting her mouth into a smile, she would respond to Yuno,"As your father mentioned, I'm Shion Moro. Congrats on getting into the academy... i guess. We're all..." she paused to let out a sigh that almost became a groan. "We're all expecting great things from you."

Now that the kid was dealt with, Shion turned back to the twin Kages to address her assignment. "Farming? Shouldn't be too hard. Back home we grow trees for charcoal; how different can it be? Though I do have one question." As her sentence neared its pause, her faux smile turned into a very real, very eager grin. "Why do I need to take medical lessons? I've been working at the hospital for the past five years... Like you said, if you know how the body is put together, its easier to take apart." Her delivery might have been a little off putting, and would certainly call for concern had it been said by someone not in the Shinobi corps.

__ As Kenshin stood in wait he heard and even smelled the approach of another of the village's Jounin. The smell was an intoxicating aroma of cooked meats emanating from a bag in his hands as he walked around the top floor's office offering food. He had not seen him in years and he looked slightly different to him, but he was not a man that Kenshin could easily forget. Although he forgot their little interaction before the Seizan battle, he remembered very clearly the foolish way he acted during Raikage Shiro's announcement of war. "What an idiot." Kenshin thought as he admonished him internally before he approached. He was slightly shaken out of his deep concentration when Toso spoke to him. "No thanks." He said succinctly with his usual deadpan and serious tone. He started grinding his teeth together slightly when he called him by the wrong name, Kenshiro. "It's Officer Kenshin Kosei." He corrected him sternly as his pale eyes pierced into Toso's own.

He then noticed a small girl with pink hair who seemed to be in a bit of a huff for whatever reason. After she entered he heard some of the commotion in the office and was a bit confused. He stepped into the room once invited in and sat beside Shiro and Toso would likely follow suit. When he was introduced to the girl who stormed past him he looked at her and nodded. "I'm Kenshin Kosei, police shinobi. Good luck." He wished the Arashikage's daughter well, although his tone was rather flat. Kenshin also hoped that by saying his name again that everyone would stop calling him Kenshiro. Two was a pattern and Kenshin was becoming irritated by it, but he was more patient with his superiors than with his comrades on the matter. The police officer glanced at Shion and was curious about the "special ninja" comment. Maybe he was joining the ANBU or Oinin?

In any case, he would now speak up to answer Arashikage Jay's question. "I wouldn't be intruding here if it weren't urgent." Kenshin slightly shuttered at the idea of people dropping into the Spire for a "fun visit." A black gloved hand was extended by the police officer in Jay's direction. "This is a letter from me reporting my patrols in the village and a recent spike in criminal activity." He then cleared his throat and continued. "As you know, the police have worked hard to bring order and enforce the law during the founding of Arashigakure. We faced opposition from daimyo loyalists, barbarians, and rebels internally. Thankfully, those have been quelled but we are still dealing with remnants." Kenshin was constantly working on his police missions and did not have much of a private life, although he could now afford a decent home in the new village because of his service. "The letter also has my proposal to make a detailed census of all citizens of Arashigakure. For example, how many people have moved here in the past few months? Where are they coming from? Is our criminal population homegrown or are they outsiders? With these numbers, the police can control the dangerous elements." Kenshin was trying to find any way he possibly could to keep this newfound peace by completely eliminating all crime in Arashigakure. "All details are in the letter." He said as he spent a lot of his time finding ways to modernize and advance law enforcement in Arashigakure.

Kenshin Kosei. That was the name. He had gotten the mans name mixed up with another someone else due to their names both starting with Kenshi. It just went to show how little interaction the two had with one another. Toso realized his error too late as a pink dart slithered through which whom Kenshiro er Kenshin followed as they were both waved in. Toso only catching said welcome in his peripheral vision. Despite it not openly showing on his face Toso genuinely felt bad having remembered and saying his name wrong. Was this perhaps a sign that his mind was starting to go with age. His fear of this arose and welled for a moment slowing his advance into the room. As Kenshin provided the Kages with his letter of proposition Toso's arm carrying the bag of tantalizing meat buns of Iron chef quality stretched placing it on the Kage's desk implying it was for them and whomever they desired to share the remaining six buns with.

"Is that not odd though that we both had the same slip of tongue? bloop." Toso would say in reference to both the Kages and himself calling Kenshin by Kenshiro to try and ease the impact it was likely having on the colored officer despite his accolades people getting his name confused with someone else. As his arm retracted and likely as the Kages pondered over the letter and a response for Shion Toso would lean down momentarily matching his heights with Yuno. "Oh. bloop. Getting ready for the academy are we? I doubt you'll have any trouble passing." Toso's expressionless an monotonous voice could come off as both soothing or one that hid ulterior motives. He was however, with all intent and purpose trying to be and come off as nice. His head would then turn towards Shion before he slowly stood up again whilst simultaneously speaking. "bloop, After all we have a certain someone who not some few years ago after disobeying direct orders, and having all her ribs shattered, being considered for the position of Anbu initiate by the sounds of it."

Toso would recall the mission on Endaishima maybe even causing a brief momentary flashback for Shion. Hopefully the moment in where she was royally slammed but came out triumphant watching a guys neck literally explode in a blood volcano. Toso's tentacles would then each shoot out of his back through his loose collar. A reflexive habit as his joking brought back bad memories of his own. As quickly as they sprung up they retreated back into his back. Still it was all rather sudden and could have been somewhat startling. Readjusting his glasses he'd look to the kage's "I'll speak my peace once you've addressed everyone's more important matters bloop." There was indeed an additional reason for his visit on top of feeding the twins. But he considered it something of a trivial matter currently compared to everyone else.

He loathed these trips. It reminded him of both how far his people had fallen and how far they had yet to go. Still, it was necessary to make sure they were taken care of. Ever since he had pierced the previous "Otokage" through the heart with Shōkyaku he had assumed the role of their leader. So, once a month he made the journey to Arashigakure to check that the refugees from Otogakure were being taken care of as Shiro had promised him they would be. While they had made do for the most part, he dreamed of a day they could take back their independence and return to their own land. It was hard to be a King with neither a kingdom nor sovereign citizens to rule. His daydreaming was interrupted as his hand was tugged gently, snapping him back to reality.

Aurelia, his daughter, walked beside him. She had insisted that she be allowed to come every time he made this trip, and this time his mother finally relented- on the condition that Vivian accompany them for extra security of course "Are we going to meet the Arashakage?" She asked, brushing a strand of her long dark her behind her ears. Belamos smiled, bending low to pick the girl up "Arashikage. And, yes. Make sure to mind your manners as your mother taught you. It wouldn't befit a princess to be rude now would it?" She seemed to consider it for a moment before shaking her head, a sheepish grin on her face. As they neared the door to the Kage's office, Belamos set her down. Aurelia immediately smoothed out the wrinkles in her red and gold dress. It always amazed Belamos how she could be so young yet to...intelligent. Much more so than he was at her age. It must have been Tsukina's influence on her. Looking down to Aurelia he spoke "You ready?" When she nodded, he opened the door...and was met by a wave of voices.

Belamos entered the office, Aurelia's hand in his own. He scanned the room, taking note of the shinobi around him. He had no idea who most of them were, albeit he definitely recognized the one with the glasses from the Battle of Oto. Undoubtedly they knew of him. He had, after all, been the one to drop Horace's severed head from the Gates of Oto and been the one to destroy the village from the inside. One male, he did recognize. Belamos approached him and extended his hand "Officer Kosei. I have heard of you from the former citizens of Otogakure. I would just like to thank you for treating them as fairly as you have" The Citizens of Otogakure were looked at, by some, as the enemy. They had been apart of the UHV problem and had even assisted the enemy. Not many knew that they had been prisoners in their own village and suffered just as much as any of the other villages. While the discrimination and hatred had been much more common in the beginning of their stay here, it was still present in some of the more...close minded of Arashigakure's Citizens.

Turning away from the Police Officer after shaking his hand, Belamos would turn to face Jay and Jean- the Twin Kage's. Aurelia stepped in front of Belamos and executed a polite if a bit sloppy, curtsey "Hello, I am Princess Aurelia. It is nice to meet you" For a second she seemed distracted after she noticed the girl similiar to her own age but quickly composed herself before resuming her place at her fathers side, taking his hand once more.

Belamos kept a neutral expression, but let a small grin escape at his daughter's display of manners "Jay...Jeon...Thank you for housing my people another month. They seem...content" While he truly was grateful, there was the faintest hint of venom in his words. He hated having to depend on the Twins, hated having to visit this village. It was a reminder of both his weakness and his failure. "And I apogize for Aurelia, she insisted she come" He said, gesturing to his daughter. Hopefully they knew how hard it was to refuse a young girl who thought the world of you.

Upon being tackled by her mother Yuno was quick to giggle and laugh excitedly as she was twirled about. Her body limp in Jeon's arms she smiled as air moved through her hair and she was cradled gently. Even hanging upside down was fun. Of course her father was quick to take her into his own lap. She smiled and crossed her legs while sitting there with a stern icy gaze at Shion and the others. "Hmph... you owe me daddy. You should help me train after class."

When her father labeled her as a brat she pursed her lips into an annoyed expression. Oooh he was definitely wracking up a tab with her now. "Say what you want but I know I'm your princess." Her mismatched brown and pink eyes shifted their gaze to Shion as her lips turned into more of a smile. Her hand waved a hello while she continued to sit upon her father's lap. Kenshin would receive a simple thank you for his well wishes. Of course then came Toso. Shifting nervously on Jay's lap she scrunched up slightly as he leaned down to her level. His voice sent shivers down her spine. Toso was far more terrifying in action than he was in stories. "Th.. thank you..." she muttered quietly.

A deep sigh was let out when he turned his attention towards Shion. However any relief was short lived as tentacles came squirming out of his collar in a most terrifying way. Yuno released a very high pitched shriek as she gripped Jay's shirt tightly. Heart pounding she caught her breath as Toso seemed to relax and reset himself back to his less squidly normal persona. Clearly she was quite afraid of the man, though obviously such fears went deeper a simple fear of tentacles. Perhaps it was simply due to her age, she was only eight after all. In the end though the Academy would more than likely tackle such fears. Speaking of the Academy, she would need to leave soon if she wished to be on time for class.

Jay shifted as the girl interacted with everyone, his eyes on her when she asserted that he owed her anything, considering he had already donated half of his chromosomes into her creation. He smirked, remembering how comments like that were always met with harsh retribution from his own strict parents. Instead of giving her that sort of nuclear response, his hand mussed her hair a little and he nodded. "As you wish, little one." His attention shifted to Shion as Jeon pointed, one eye closed, at her dossier. "Ah, I missed it, sorry. Hit the farms then, and we will go from there.." Meanwhile, Kenshin made his way into the office and corrected everyone in a not-so-frustrated manner, on the surface. Years of people getting Jay and Jeon-Gyeon mixed up had also grated on his nerves so he looked to his sister with a smirk, and she spoke up, hair hanging precariously close to her brother's own from above. "That was, indeed, a curiously strange coincidence. Apologies Kenshin." When the folder was extended, Jay took it but passed it to his sister, taking note of Son Yuno's visible fearful shrink when Toso leaned in to speak, as Kenshiro spoke to the Kage. Lots of noise typically made Jay and Jeon both antsy, but this was a welcome change.

Jeon was knee... elbow deep in reading the proposition from the senior officer, giving every detail scrutiny and due attention. "Calling that problem quelled would be a bit of a leap," Jeon would respond to the first part of his small blurb. She was keenly aware of some stuff Kenshin wasn't, and the reason her and Jay had only just stopped being at odds with each other. Now, the interesting thing is as he made his inquiries numbers streamed through Jeon's mind. Jay was distracted with Toso and the little one, as well as Shion, so he hadn't the same level of interest in recalling specifics, but nonetheless knew to pass her a pencil. Census was something she had put the senior anbu on keeping track of long ago, simply for the fact that they needed to know who the people within the village were. Hino himself had personally oversaw keeping tabs on the Otogakure populace, working behind the scenes to quell those who sought to create issues with them because of their perceived ties to the UHV. Kirigakure ninja and civilian too were kept under watchful eyes, if for different reasons than the kumo ninja that made up Arashigakure's population. "It's surprising to me that the police branch of the ANBU force hasn't already been kept in the know about these things. I shall see to it that it's rectified."

After scribbling something down on the proposal she would dismount the bar, taking a seat beside her brother and niece-daughter... man sharing a body and almost entire genome with someone made the children situation really confusing. To the point, however, she put the letter in an envelope and put the envelope on a shelf. Her eyes fell on Yuno when she shrieked, Jay immediately placing a hand on the back of her head so she would know that she was safe beyond that Toso was doing nothing really, but that her father was always there, ready to put himself between her and harm. Jeon spoke to admonish Toso, also not too privy to the whole tentacle thing. "Tosokurui. Keep the tentacles away in my office." Rarely seen was a serious Jeon-Gyeon, but never were the two of them more identical in look than when her expression turned serious. That was softened however when she remembered that there was food on the table, and a deft hand snatched it up while her face melted back into a greedy smile. One hand took a bun, the other patted the child on the head, Jay still stroking her hair. He was almost entirely unaware of what had been said by Jeon: he had entirely, momentarily, lost his hearing from the girl's shriek. He wondered offhandedly if that came from her mother, or his Monkey Sage traits being passed down.

His own hand would reach for the food before another presence made itself known to them as well, and Jay only nodded to Toso's reluctance to speak until business was concluded.

Belamos had deigned to come speak, bringing his own child to the office as well. Jeon and Jay both watched, neither of them eating the food in their hands, when he extended his hand to Kenshiro... Kenshin. With the cute attempt at curtsy, Jeon and Jay. "Why hello there," Jeon said leaning forward on her desk to look at the girl. "I'm Jeon Gyeon, this is my brother Jay. The pleasure is ours," she almost cooed. She definitely had grown a soft spot for children after building her own over the months, and then fostering it in the sage lands. She wondered if Souta had even safely arrived in the village.

It wasn't lost on Jay that Belamos was no where near simply being gracious. He waived off the man's apology before acknowledging his gratitude. "Trust me I know the woes," he offered rubbing the little one's head still. "As for your people, they've been nothing but gracious. So long as they keep contributing and don't make a problem you can assume I'll never have them removed. No thanks required, really. Now," he would say lifting Yuno to sit on the edge of his desk and face him, and away from Toso. "What do you say I teach today's academy class? I'll make it up to you for missing everything. Jeon?" He would stand, leaving her as she saluted him and scooted to the center of the rock the stone monkeys chose to sit upon.

Jay would put the girl on his shoulders and then motion towards Belamos. "If you have any business, Jeon can help you. If not, come by the academy. Maybe you can lend a hand." With that, Jeon would smile brightly at everyone while Jay stepped to the windowsill. "Hold on tight," Jay would say, allowing natural energy to flow into his legs as he bent them, coiling energy. With only a second, and holding his daughter by the legs, Jay flung himself free of the spire.

Did that squid just call her out? In front of everyone? OH HELL NO! It was entirely possible the comment went right over the kid's head, but Shion didn't care. It was almost certainly meant as a playful jab, but Shion didn't care. Her face quickly became bright red with embarrassment... or maybe anger. It's very possible it might have been both. Her brow furrowed and one of her cheeks puffed out as she marched her way over to Toso. Shion glared upwards at him for a long moment trying her best to intimidate the man who clearly stood almost a full foot taller than her. "Let's not forget that the only reason that someone got her ribs broken was because a certain Squid went and got himself captured in the first place, and she was just saving his a**." She snapped back, jamming her finger into Toso's chest. To most, it might seem like an actual insult, but Toso probably knew what she meant. She wasn't really angry at him, nor did she really dislike him; quite the opposite really. Toso was one of maybe two people in the village Shion managed to build a positive relationship with, despite her sunny disposition. She continued to glare at him, meeting him eye to eye for a few more seconds before turning towards the door. "I gotta go do my job... too many kids here anyway." Shion would then turn to the Kages and bow, thanking them both for the opportunity and make her way out the room, grumbling something about "twerps" as she went.
