Plus checking out the file size of my image with Window's Picture App. I didn't realize how handy this app is -- for technical information, locating an image in specific folders, etc.

So, I'm glad that I've been learning to work with transparencies with the GIMP easier, recently, -- before this I needed to take an intermediary step by changing transparency levels at LunaPic before working with my images on a transparent background in GIMP.

The more you work with digital artstuffs the more you learn.

I have voted yes on your poll, but my experience with GIMP has been too brief to be of note, if I'm being completely honest.

I hear it's a great free alternative to Photoshop, but I don't do a lot of photomanipulation even on PS, which I do have now. Since I also use PS as a drawing software, I have no use for GIMP as a separate photomanipulation program. :0

Either way, it's great you're figuring out GIMP and finding new ways to put your creative visions to practice!

Thank you for your honest reply, Bear. I use the GIMP (plus IrfanView and Windows PAINT) because these apps are free to use, and creating with free image creation/manipulation tools are best for my IRL budget. Also, I have an IRL partner who does not share the enthusiasm for working with an expensive art tool like PS -- even if it is slightly more user-friendly than the GIMP.

Heck, I play Gaia for free -- just the idea of spending real money to give to Gaia for an enriched user-experience (mine) -- just does not make sense to him. He feels I spend too much time on Gaia, and not enough time being involved with Real Life.

I didn't mean to vent like that, but I deal with little frictions like this on a daily basis. >sighs< But this has given me the idea to post my Jay and Dee comics in this guild. They are based on IRL situations between my partner Jay and myself, with a humorous focus, and I make them on the GIMP and PAINT. (I find doing the lettering is easier on PAINT. xD )

Speaking of working with your Photoshop for creating art -- your signature is absolutely delicious! Showing the flask with the pale pink liquid sloshing around inside is beautifully done. Creating a love potion, Bear? With your permission, I would like to put a smaller reduced version on my profile, with your art credited.❤️

My sig art is for the upcoming Heartbreak Café event, so love potions indeed, haha.

I have no issues with you putting my sig art on your profile (though I wouldn't know why you would want to, haha), but I would rather NOT have it reuploaded to another hosting platform. As such I have to ask you to use the original image address and to just scale the image down using bbcode.

In case you don't know how to scale images using bbcode, i will include that info under the spoiler

to change the size of an image using bbcode, add a value for width or height in the IMG tag. Only set a numerical value for EITHER width or height, and set the other to "auto" to prevent the image from being warped.

[img="auto,200"]https://i.ibb.co/PtWDvyb/hbc-b19-attempt-v2b-resized.png[/img]

The example above (using the sig art in question, so you can just copy that, too) will show the image as 200px high, with width automatically adjusted, like so:

You can change that numerical value to whatever you please, although i suggest you keep it under 455px, as that is my image's native height. Setting the value higher than that will make it look pixelated or blurry.

If I have misunderstood your request, do let me know.

That size is perfect! The reason I must resize images on my profile to 260 width or under, is to accomodate to the individual cells that make up the visual segmation on my profile.

And learning new facts on how to size images with bboard is always welcome. I tend to resize my images on my pc with IrfanView, but learning this new bboard techie fact is a true gift to put into my memory banks.

Your illustration is is so professional that I am proud to showcase your talent, Bear. Having your Scientist Zurg Avatar OC there to greet me is such a thrilling prospect.❤️👽
